1 Wakorintho 11
1 Niigeni mimi kama ninavyomwiga Kristo.
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
2 Nawapeni hongera kwa sababu mnanikumbuka na kwa sababu mnayashikilia yale maagizo niliyowapeni.
Now I praise you, brothers, because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the teachings that have been handed down, just as I delivered them to you.
3 Lakini napenda pia mjue kwamba Kristo ni kichwa cha kila mwanamume, na mwanamume ni kichwa cha mkewe, na Mungu ni kichwa cha Kristo.
But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
4 Basi, kila mwanamume anayesali au anayetangaza ujumbe wa Mungu huku amefunika kichwa chake, huyo anamdharau Kristo.
Every man who prays or prophesies with his head veiled disgraces his head,
5 Na mwanamke akisali au kutangaza ujumbe wa Mungu bila kufunika kichwa chake, anamdharau mumewe; anayefanya hivyo ni sawa tu na mwanamke aliyenyoa kichwa chake.
and every woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled disgraces her head, for it is one and the same as having her head shaved.
6 Mwanamke asiyefunika kichwa chake, afadhali anyoe nywele zake. Lakini ni aibu kwa mwanamke kukatwa nywele zake au kunyolewa; basi, afadhali afunike kichwa chake.
If a woman will not veil herself, she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to cut off her hair or shave her head, she should wear a veil.
7 Haifai mwanamume kufunika kichwa chake, kwa kuwa yeye ni mfano wa Mungu na kioo cha utukufu wake Mungu; lakini mwanamke ni kioo cha utukufu wa mwanamume.
For a man ought not to have his head veiled, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man.
8 Mwanamume hakutoka kwa mwanamke, ila mwanamke alitoka kwa mwanamume.
For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.
9 Mwanamume hakuumbwa kwa ajili ya mwanamke, ila mwanamke aliumbwa kwa ajili ya mwanamume.
Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man.
10 Ndiyo maana mwanamke hufunika kichwa chake, iwe ishara ya mamlaka yaliyo juu yake, na pia kwa sababu ya malaika.
That is why a woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
11 Hata hivyo, mbele ya Bwana mwanamke si kitu bila mwanamume, naye mwanamume si kitu bila mwanamke.
Nevertheless, in the Lord neither is man independent of woman nor woman independent of man.
12 Kama vile mwanamke alivyotokana na mwanamume, vivyo hivyo mwanamume huzaliwa na mwanamke; kila kitu hutoka kwa Mungu.
For just as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman, but all things come from God.
13 Amueni wenyewe: Je, inafaa mwanamke kumwomba Mungu bila kuvaa kitu kichwani?
Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head unveiled?
14 Hata maumbile yenyewe huonyesha wazi kwamba kwa mwanamume kuwa na nywele ndefu ni aibu kwake mwenyewe;
Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace to him,
15 lakini kwa mwanamke kuwa na nywele ni heshima kwake; nywele zake ndefu amepewa ili zimfunike.
but if a woman has long hair it is her glory? For her long hair is given for a covering.
16 Kama mtu anataka kuleta ubishi juu ya jambo hili, basi, na ajue kwamba sisi hatuna desturi nyingine, wala makanisa ya Mungu hayana desturi nyingine.
But if anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such custom, and neither do the churches of God.
17 Nikiwa bado nawapeni maagizo haya, siwezi hata kidogo kuwapa ninyi hongera kuhusu haya yafuatayo: mikutano yenu ninyi waumini yaleta hasara zaidi kuliko faida.
Now in giving the following instructions, I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18 Awali ya yote, nasikia kwamba mnapokutana pamoja hutokea mafarakano kati yenu. Nami naamini kiasi,
For in the first place, I hear that there are divisions among you when you come together as a church, and in some part I believe it.
19 maana ni lazima fikira tofauti ziweko miongoni mwenu, ili wale walio thabiti wapate kutambulikana.
For there must be factions among you to show which of you are approved.
20 Kweli mnakutana, lakini si kwa ajili ya kula chakula cha Bwana!
Now when you come together, it is not to eat the Lord's supper.
21 Maana mnapokula kila mmoja hukikalia chakula chake mwenyewe, hata hutokea kwamba baadhi yenu wana njaa, na wengine wamelewa!
For when you eat, some of you eat your own supper without waiting for others. So one person is hungry while another gets drunk.
22 Je, hamwezi kula na kunywa nyumbani kwenu! Au je, mnalidharau kanisa la Mungu na kuwaaibisha hao wasio na kitu? Niwaambie nini? Niwasifu? La hasha! Si kuhusu jambo hili.
What! Do you not have houses for eating and drinking? Or do you despise the church of God and put to shame those who do not have anything? What should I say to you? Should I praise you for this? I do not praise you.
23 Maana mimi nilipokea kwa Bwana yale maagizo niliyowaachieni: kwamba, usiku ule Bwana Yesu aliotolewa, alitwaa mkate,
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread,
24 akamshukuru Mungu, akaumega, akasema: “Huu ndio mwili wangu ulio kwa ajili yenu; fanyeni hivi kwa kunikumbuka.”
and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
25 Vivyo hivyo, baada ya kula, akatwaa kikombe akasema: “Hiki ni kikombe cha agano jipya linalothibitishwa kwa damu yangu. Fanyeni hivi, kila mnapokunywa, kwa kunikumbuka.”
In the same way, he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
26 Maana kila mnapokula mkate huu na kunywa kikombe hiki, mwatangaza kifo cha Bwana, mpaka atakapokuja.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27 Kwa hiyo, kila aulaye mkate huo au kunywa kikombe cha Bwana bila kustahili, atakuwa na hatia dhidi ya mwili na damu ya Bwana.
So then, whoever eats this bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a manner unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 Basi, kila mtu ajichunguze mwenyewe kwanza, ndipo ale mkate huo na anywe kikombe hicho;
So a person should examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
29 maana anayekula na kunywa bila kutambua maana ya mwili wa Bwana, anakula na kunywa hukumu yake yeye mwenyewe.
For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment on himself, since he shows no regard for the body of the Lord.
30 Ndiyo maana wengi kati yenu ni dhaifu na wagonjwa, na wengine kadhaa wamekufa.
That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a considerable number have fallen asleep.
31 Kama tungejichunguza wenyewe vizuri hatungeadhibiwa hivyo.
If we would evaluate ourselves, we would not be judged.
32 Lakini tunapohukumiwa na Bwana, tunafunzwa tuwe na nidhamu, ili tusije tukahukumiwa pamoja na ulimwengu.
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
33 Kwa hiyo, ndugu zangu, mnapokutana kula chakula cha Bwana, kila mmoja amngoje mwenzake.
So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
34 Na kama kuna yeyote aliye na njaa, na ale nyumbani kwake, ili kukutana kwenu kusisababishe hukumu. Lakini, kuhusu yale mambo mengine, nitawapeni maelezo nitakapokuja.
If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you come together it will not result in condemnation. I will set the remaining matters in order when I come.
