1 Yahwe anatawala; mataifa na yatetemeke. Ameketi juu ya makerubi; nchi inatetemeka.

Adonai reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

2 Yahwe ni mkuu katika Sayuni; naye ametukuka juu ya mataifa yote.

Adonai is great in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. He is high above all the peoples.

3 Nao walisifu jina lako kuu na lenye kutisha; yeye ni mtakatifu.

Let them yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

4 Mfalme ana nguvu, naye hupenda haki. Wewe umeimarisha haki; umetenda haki na hukumu katika Yakobo.

The King’s strength also 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·. You do establish equity. You execute mishpat ·justice· and righteousness in Jacob [Supplanter].

5 Msifuni Yahwe Mungu wetu na sujuduni miguuni pake. Yeye ni mtakatifu.

Exalt Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his footstool. He is Holy!

6 Musa na Haruni walikuwa miongoni mwa makuhani wake, na Samweli alikuwa miongoni mwa wale walio muomba Yeye. Walimuomba Yahwe, naye akawajibu.

Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on Adonai, and he answered them.

7 Alizungumza nao toka nguzo ya wingu. Walizishika amri zake takatifu na sheria ambazo aliwapatia.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.

8 Wewe uliwajibu, Yahwe Mungu wetu. Ulikuwa kwao Mungu mwenye kusamehe, lakini uliye adhibu matendo yao ya dhambi.

You answered them, Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.

9 Msifuni Yahwe Mungu wetu, na mwabuduni kwenye mlima wake mtakatifu, maana Yahwe Mungu wetu ni Mtakatifu.

Exalt Adonai, our God. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his holy hill, for Adonai, our God, is holy!
