1 Ni jambo jema kumshukuru Yahwe na kuliimbia sifa jina lako, Uliye Juu,
It is a good thing to yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, to sing zahmar ·musical praise· to your name, Most High;
2 kutangaza uaminifu wa agano lako wakati wa asubuhi na uaminifu wako kila usiku,
to proclaim your chesed ·loving-kindness· in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
3 kwa kinubi cha nyuzi kumi na kwa tuni ya kinubi.
with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the lyre's solemn higgayon (meditation)
4 Kwa kuwa wewe, Yahwe, matendo yako yamenifurahisha. Nitaimba kwa furaha kwa sababu ya matendo ya mikono yako.
For you, Adonai, have made me glad through your work. I will triumph in the works of your hands.
5 Ni jinsi gani matendo yako ni makuu, Yahwe! mawazo yako ni ya kina.
How great are your works, Adonai! Your thoughts are very deep.
6 Mtu mpumbavu hawezi kuyajua, wala mjinga kuyaelewa haya:
A senseless man does not know, neither does a fool understand this:
7 Wasio haki watakapochipuka kama nyasi, na hata watendao uovu watakapo stawi, bado wataangamizwa kwenye uharibifu wa milele.
though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all those who practice vain striving of iniquity flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
8 Lakini wewe, Yahwe, utatawala milele.
But you, Adonai, are on high forever more.
9 Hakika, watazame adui zako, Yahwe! Hakika, watazame adui zako. Wataangamia! Wale wote watendao maovu watatawanywa.
For, behold, your enemies, Adonai, for, behold, your enemies shall perish. All those who practice vain striving of iniquity will be scattered.
10 Wewe umeyainua mapembe yangu kama mapembe ya Nyati wa porini; nimepakwa mafuta safi.
But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
11 Macho yangu yameona kuanguka kwa adui zangu; masikio yangu yamesikia maangamizi ya maadui zangu waovu.
My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
12 Wenye haki watastawi kama mtende; watakua kama mwerezi wa Lebanoni.
The upright shall flourish like the palm tree. He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Wamepandwa katika nyumba ya Yahwe; wakistawi katika nyua za Mungu wetu.
They are planted in Adonai’s house. They will flourish in our God’s courts.
14 Wao huzaa matunda hata uzeeni; hukaa safi na wenye afya,
They will still produce fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,
15 kutangaza kuwa Yahwe ni wa haki. Yeye ni mwamba wangu, na hakuna udhalimu ndani yake.
to show that Adonai is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
