1 Usikie, Mchungaji wa Israel, wewe uliye muongoza Yusufu kama kundi; wewe uketiye juu ya makerubi, utuangazie!
Hear us, Ro'i [Shepherd Provider] of Israel [God prevails], you who lead Joseph [May he add] like a flock, you who sit above the cherubim, shine out.
2 Machoni pa Efraimu na Benjamini na Manase, uziinue nguvu zako; njoo na utuokoe.
Before Ephraim [Fruit] and Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south] and Manasseh [Causing to forget], stir up your might! Come to bring yishu'ah ·salvation· for us!
3 Mungu, uturejeshe sisi; uangaze uso wako juu yetu, nasi tutaokolewa.
Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
4 Yahwe Mungu wa majeshi, mpaka lini utawakasirikia watu wako wanapoomba?
Adonai Elohei Tzva'ot [Yahweh God Commander of heaven’s armies], How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
5 Umewalisha wa mkate wa machozi na umewapa machozi ili wanywe katika kiasi kikubwa.
You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.
6 Umetufanya kitu kwa ajili ya majirani zetu kubishania, na maadui zetu hucheka kuhusu sisi kati yao.
You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Mungu wa majeshi, uturejeshe sisi; nasi tutaokolewa.
Turn us again, Elohim Tzva'ot [God Commander of heaven’s armies]. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
8 Wewe ulileta mzabibu kutoka Misri; ukawafukuza mataifa na ukaupanda.
You brought a vine out of Egypt [Abode of slavery]. You divorced and drove out the nations, and planted it.
9 Uliisafisha ardhi kwa ajil yake; nao ulipata mzizi na kuijaza nchi.
You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.
10 Milima ilifunikwa kwa kivuli chake, mierezi ya Mungu kwa matawi yake.
The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God’s cedars.
11 Ilieneza matawi yake mbali kama bahari na mashina yake mpaka kwenye Mto Euphrates.
It sent out its branches to the sea, Its shoots to the River.
12 Kwa nini umezibomoa kuta zake hata wapitao karibu huyachuma matunda yake.
Why have you broken down its walls, so that all those who pass by the way pluck it?
13 Ngurue wa msituni wanauharibu, na wanyama wa kondeni wanaula.
The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.
14 Urudi, Ee Mungu wa majeshi; kutoka mbinguni utazame chini na uuangalie na kuujali huu mzabibu.
Turn again, we beg you, Elohim Tzva'ot [God Commander of heaven’s armies]. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,
15 Huu ni mzizi ambao mkono wako wa kuume umeupanda, mashina ambayo wewe uliyafanya yakue.
the stock which your right hand planted, the branch that you made strong for yourself.
16 Yamekatwa na kuchomwa; yameangamia kwa sababu ya kukemea kwako.
It’s burned with fire. It’s cut down. They perish at your rebuke.
17 Mkono wako na uwe juu ya mtu aliye mkono wako wa kuume, kwa mwana wa mtu uliyemfanya imara kwa ajili yako mwenyewe.
Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
18 Ndipo hatuta kuacha wewe; utuhuishe, nasi tutaliita jina lako.
So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name.
19 Yahwe, Mungu wa majeshi, uturejeshe sisi; utuangazie nuru ya uso wako, nasi tutaokolewa.
Turn us again, Adonai Elohei Tzva'ot [Yahweh God Commander of heaven’s armies]. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
