1 Mungu amefanya mwenyewe kujulikana katika Yuda; jina lake ni kuu katika Israeli.

To the Chief Musician. With Stringed Instruments. A Melody of Asaph, a Song. God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;

2 Hema yake iko salemu; makao yake yako yako Sayuni.

Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.

3 Huko ndiko alivunja mishale ya upinde, ngao, upanga, na silaha zingine za vita. (Selah)

There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. (Selah)

4 Wewe unang'aa sana na huufunua utukufu wako, ushukapo kutoka milimani, ambako uliwauwa mateka.

Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.

5 Wenye moyo shujaa walitekwa nyara; walilala mauti. Mashujaa wote walikuwa wanyonge.

The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 Kwa kukemea kwako, ewe Mungu wa Yakobo, wote gari na farasi walilala mauti.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.

7 Wewe, ndiyo wewe, ni wa kuogopwa; ni nani awezaye kusimama mbele yako wakati ukiwa na hasira?

As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?

8 Kutoka mbinguni wewe uliifanya hukumu yako isikike; nchi iliogopa na ikaa kimya

Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:

9 wakati wewe, Mungu, ulipoinuka kutekeleza hukumu na kuwaokoa wote wa nchi walio onewa. (Selah)

When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

10 Hakika hukumu ya hasira yako dhidi ya binadamu itakuletea wewe sifa; wewe hujifunga mwenyewe hasira yako iliyo baki.

For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.

11 Wekeni nadhiri kwa Yahwe Mungu wenu na kuzihifadhi. Nao wote wamzungukao yeye mleteeni zawadi yeye ambaye ni wa kuogopwa.

Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God, —Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.

12 Yeye huzikata roho za wakuu; huogopwa na wafalme wa nchi.

He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
