1 Nitamsifu Yahwe wakati wote, siku zote sifa zake zitakuwa mdomoni mwangu.
A Psalm of David; when he changed his demeanour before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 Nitamsifu Yahwe! walio onewa wasikie na kufurahi.
My soul shall glory in the LORD; the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 Msifuni Yahwe pamoja nami, kwa pamoja tuliinue jina lake.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.
4 Nilimuomba Yahwe msaada naye akanijibu, akanipa ushindi juu ya hofu yangu yote.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Wale wanao mtazama yeye wana furaha, na nyuso zao hazina aibu.
They looked unto Him, and were radiant; and their faces shall never be abashed.
6 Huyu mtu aliye onewa alilia na Yahwe akamsikia na kumuokoa kwenye matatizo yake yote.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 Malaika wa Yahwe huweka kambi wakiwazunguka wale wanao muogopa yeye na kuwaokoa.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.
8 Onjeni muone Yahwe ni mzuri. Amebarikiwa mtu yule ambaye Yahwe ni kimbilio lake.
O consider and see that the LORD is good; happy is the man that taketh refuge in Him.
9 Muogopeni Yahwe, ninyi watu watakatifu wake. Hakuna kupungukikwa kwa wale wanao mhofu yeye.
O fear the LORD, ye His holy ones; for there is no want to them that fear Him.
10 Simba wadogo wakati mwingine hukosa chakula na kuteseka kwa njaa, bali wale wamtafutao Yahwe hawatapungukiwa chochote kilicho kizuri.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but they that seek the LORD want not any good thing.
11 Njoni, wana, mnisikilize mimi. nitawafundisha ninyi hofu ya Yahwe.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Mtu nani aliyepo ambaye anatamani maisha na anapenda kuwa na siku nyingi, ili kwamba aweze kuona vizuri?
Who is the man that desireth life, and loveth days, that he may see good therein?
13 Hivyo uepushe ulimi wako na uovu na uilinde midomo yako kuongea uongo.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Uache uovu na utende mema. Uitafute amani na kuiendea amani.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 Macho ya Yahwe yako kwenye haki na masikio yake huelekea kulia kwao.
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.
16 Uso wa Yahwe uko kinyume na wale watendao uovu, kuikatilia mbali kumbukumbu yao duniani.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 Wenye haki hulia na Yahwe husikia na kuwaokoa kwenye matatizo yao yote.
They cried, and the LORD heard, and delivered them out of all their troubles.
18 Yahwe yu karibu nao waliovunjika moyo, naye huwaokoa waliogandamizwa rohoni.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
19 Mateso ya wenye haki ni mengi, bali Yahwe huwaokoa nayo yote.
Many are the ills of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20 Yeye huitunza mifupa yake yote, hakuna hata mmoja wao utavunjika.
He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.
21 Uovu utawauwa waovu. Wale wachukiao haki watahukumiwa.
Evil shall kill the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall be held guilty.
22 Yahwe huokoa maisha ya watumishi wake. Hakuna atakaye hukumiwa hata mmoja atafutaye usalama katika yeye.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants; and none of them that take refuge in Him shall be desolate.
