1 Kwa kiongozi wa muziki. Zaburi ya Daudi. Mfalme anashangilia katika uweza wako, Yahwe! Ni kwa namna kuu anashangilia katika wokovu uliouleta!
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. O Yahweh, in thy strength, will the king rejoice, and, in thy salvation, how greatly will he exult!
2 Wewe umempa yeye matamanio ya moyo wake na hauja mkatalia maombi midomo yake.
The longing of his heart, hast thou given him, and, the request of his lips, hast thou not withheld. (Selah)
3 Kwa kuwa wewe unamletea baraka nyingi; wewe uliweka katika kichwa chake taji ya dhahabu iliyo safi kabisa.
For thou wilt come to meet him, with the blessings of goodness, Thou wilt set on his head, a crown of pure gold.
4 Yeye alikuomba wewe maisha; ukampatia maisha; wewe ulimpatia maisha malefu milele na milele.
Life, he asked of thee, Thou hast given it him, length of days, to times age-abiding and beyond.
5 Yeye utukufu wake ni mkuu kwa sababu ya ushindi wako; wewe umemuwekea mapambo na enzi.
Great is his glory, in thy salvation, Honour and majesty, wilt thou lay upon him;
6 Kwa kuwa unampatia yeye baraka za kudumu; unamfurahisha kwa furaha ya uwepo wako.
For thou wilt appoint him blessings evermore, wilt cheer him with joy by thy countenance;
7 Kwa kuwa Mfalme humwamini Yahwe; kwa kupitia uaminifu wa agano la aliye juu zaidi yeye hataondolewa.
For, the king, is trusting in Yahweh, and, in the lovingkindness of the Highest, shall he not be shaken.
8 Mkono wako utawakamata adui zangu wote wote; mkono wako wa kuume utawakamata wale wote wanao kuchukia.
Thy hand, will find out, all thy foes, Thine own right hand, will find out them who hate thee.
9 Wakati wa hasira yako, wewe utawachoma kama katika tanuru la moto. Yahwe atawamaliza wao katika hasira yake, na moto utawateketeza upesi wao.
Thou wilt make them like a furnace of fire, at the time of thy presence, —Yahweh, in his anger, will swallow them up, and there shall consume them a fire:
10 Wewe utawaangamiza watoto wao duniani na ukoo wao kutoka katika mrorongo wa wanadamu.
Their fruit—out of the earth, wilt thou destroy, and their seed, from among the sons of men;
11 Kwa kuwa walikusudia kukufanyia mambo maovu wewe; wao walitunga njama ambayo kwayo hawawezi kufanikiwa!
For they have held out, against thee, a wicked thing, They have devised a scheme they cannot accomplish.
12 Kwa kuwa wewe utawarudisha nyuma; wewe utafyatua upinde wako mbele yao.
For thou wilt cause them to turn their back, Upon thy bow-strings, wilt thou make ready against their face.
13 Uninuliwe, Yahwe, katika uweza wako; tutaimba na kusifu nguvu zako.
Be exalted, O Yahweh, in thy strength! With song and with string will we sound forth thy power.
