1 Nakupenda, Yahwe, nguvu yangu.
To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid the seruant of the Lord, which spake unto the Lord the wordes of this song (in the day that the Lord delivered him for the hande of all this enemies, and form the and of saul) and sayd, I will loue thee dearely, O Lord my strength.
2 Yahwe ni mwamba wangu, ngome yangu, yeye ambaye aniwekae kweye usalama; yeye ni Mungu wangu, mwamba wangu; ninapata kimbilio kwake. Yeye ni ngao yangu, pembe ya wokovu wangu, na ngome yangu.
The Lord is my rocke, and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth me, my God and my strength: in him will I trust, my shield, the horne also of my saluation, and my refuge.
3 Nitamuita Yahwe kwa sababu anastahili kusifiwa, na nitaokolewa kutoka kwa adui zangu.
I will call vpon the Lord, which is worthie to be praysed: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.
4 Kamba za mauti zilinizunguka, na mafuriko yakimbiayo yalinielemea.
The sorowes of death compassed me, and the floods of wickednes made me afraide.
The sorowes of the graue haue compassed me about: the snares of death ouertooke me. (Sheol h7585)
6 dhiki yangu nilimuita Yahwe; Niliita msaada kwa Mungu. Naye alisikia sauti yangu kutoka hekaluni mwake; kuita kwangu msaada kulienda mpaka uweponi mwake; na kuingia masikioni pake.
But in my trouble did I call vpon the Lord, and cryed vnto my God: he heard my voyce out of his Temple, and my crye did come before him, euen into his eares.
7 Kisha nchi ikatikisika na kutetemeka; misingi ya milima pia ilitetemeka na kutikiswa kwa sababu Mungu alikuwa amekasirika.
Then the earth trembled, and quaked: the foundations also of the mountaines mooued and shooke, because he was angrie.
8 Moshi ulifuka kutoka kwenye pua zake, na moto mkali ulitokea mdomoni mwake. Makaa yaliwashwa kwa moto huo.
Smoke went out at his nostrels, and a consuming fire out of his mouth: coales were kindled thereat.
9 Yeye alizifunua mbingu na alishuka chini, na giza nene lilikuwa chini ya miguu yake.
He bowed the heauens also and came downe, and darkenes was vnder his feete.
10 Alipanda kwenye kerubi na akaruka; alinyiririka kwenye mabawa ya upepo.
And he rode vpon Cherub and did flie, and he came flying vpon the wings of the winde.
11 Yahwe alilifanya giza kuwa hema likimzunguka yeye, wingu la mvua zito katika mbingu.
He made darkenes his secrete place, and his pauilion round about him, euen darkenesse of waters, and cloudes of the ayre.
12 Mawe ya barafu na makaa ya moto yalianguka kutoka katika mwangaza kabla yake.
At the brightnes of his presence his clouds passed, haylestones and coles of fire.
13 Yahwe aliongea katika mbingu! Sauti ya aliye juu ilisikika.
The Lord also thundred in the heauen, and the Highest gaue his voyce, haylestones and coales of fire.
14 Yeye aliifyatua mishale yake na kuwatawanya adui zake; na radi nyingi zenye mwanga alizitawanya katika maeneo tofauti tofauti.
Then hee sent out his arrowes and scattred them, and he increased lightnings and destroyed them.
15 Ndipo mifereji ya maji ilitokea; misingi ya dunia ikadhihirishwa kwa mlio wa pigo lako, Yahwe kwa sauti ya pumzi ya pua zako.
And the chanels of waters were seene, and the foundations of the worlde were discouered at thy rebuking, O Lord, at the blasting of the breath of thy nostrels.
16 Yeye alishuka chini kutokea juu; akanishikilia mimi! Akanivuta nje ya maji yafurikayo.
He hath sent downe from aboue and taken mee: hee hath drawen mee out of many waters.
17 Aliniokoa kutoka kwa maadui zangu wenye nguvu, kutoka kwa wale ambao walinichukia mimi, kwa kuwa walikuwa na nguvu sana kuliko mimi.
He hath deliuered mee from my strong enemie, and from them which hate me: for they were too strong for me.
18 Wao walikuja kinyume na mimi katika siku ile ya dhiki yangu lakini Mungu alikuwa msaada wangu!
They preuented me in the day of my calamitie: but the Lord was my stay.
19 Yeye aliniweka huru katika eneo pana la wazi; yeye aliniokoa kwa sababu alipenezwa nami.
Hee brought mee foorth also into a large place: hee deliuered mee because hee fauoured me.
20 Yahwe amenitunuku mimi kwa sababu ya haki yangu; yeye amenirejesha mimi kwa sababu mikono yangu ilikuwa misafi.
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnes: according to the purenes of mine hands he recompensed me:
21 Kwa kuwa nimezitunza njia za Yahwe na sijafanya uovu wa kumgeuka Mungu wangu.
Because I kept the wayes of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God.
22 Kwa kuwa amri zake zote za haki zimekuwa mbele yangu; kama asemavyo, sijaenda kinyume nazo.
For all his Lawes were before mee, and I did not cast away his commandements from mee.
23 Pia nimekuwa sina hatia mbele zake, na nimejiweka mwenyewe mbali na dhambi.
I was vpright also with him, and haue kept me from my wickednes.
24 Hivyo Yahwe amenirejesha kwa sababu ya haki yangu, na kwa sababu mikono yangu ilikuwa safi mbele ya macho yake.
Therefore the Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse, and according to the purenes of mine hands in his sight.
25 Kwa yeyote aliye mwaminifu, jionyeshe wenyewe kuwa mwaminifu; kwa mtu asiye na lawama, jionyeshe mwenyewe kuwa usiye na lawama.
With the godly thou wilt shewe thy selfe godly: with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
26 Kwa yeyote aliye msafi, jionyeshe mwenyewe safi; bali ni mjanja kwa yeyote aliye geuzwa.
With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the froward thou wilt shewe thy selfe froward.
27 Kwa kuwa wewe huwaokoa watu walio taabishwa, lakini wewe huwashusha chini wale wenye majivuno, yaani macho yaliyo jinua!
Thus thou wilt saue the poore people, and wilt cast downe the proude lookes.
28 Kwa kuwa wewe huipa mwanga taa yangu; Yahwe Mungu wangu hutia mwanga giza langu.
Surely thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God wil lighten my darkenes.
29 Kwa kuwa kwa kupitia wewe ninaweza kuruka juu ya kiwazo kilichowekwa; kupitia Mungu ninaweza kuruka juu ya ukuta.
For by thee I haue broken through an hoste, and by my God I haue leaped ouer a wall.
30 Kama kwa Mungu: njia yake ni kamilifu. Neno la Yahwe ni safi! Yeye ni ngao kwa yeyote anaye kimbilia katika yeye.
The way of God is vncorrupt: the worde of the Lord is tried in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
31 Kwa kuwa nani ni Mungu ispokuwa Yahwe? Nani ndiye mwamba ispokuwa Mungu wetu?
For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie saue our God?
32 Ni Mungu anitiaye nguvu ndani yangu kama vile mkanda, ambaye humweka mtu mwenye lawama katika njia yake.
God girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way vpright.
33 Yeye hunifanya miguu yangu kuwa myepesi kama mbawala na kuniweka mahali pa juu!
He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and setteth me vpon mine high places.
34 Yeye hufunza viganja vyangu kwa ajili ya vita na mikono yangu kupiga upinde wa shaba.
He teacheth mine hands to fight: so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes.
35 Wewe umenipa mimi ngao ya wokovu. Mkono wako wa kuume umenisaidia, na neema yako imenifanya kuwa mkubwa.
Thou hast also giuen me the shield of thy saluation, and thy right hand hath stayed me, and thy louing kindenes hath caused me to increase.
36 Wewe umetengeneza nafasi pana kwa ajili ya miguu yangu ili miguu yangu isiteleze.
Thou hast enlarged my steps vnder mee, and mine heeles haue not slid.
37 Ninawashawishi adui zangu na kuwakamata; nami sikurudi nyuma mpaka walipo haribiwa.
I haue pursued mine enemies, and taken them, and haue not turned againe till I had consumed them.
38 Niliwashambulia hata hawakuweza kuamka; nao wameangukia chini ya miguu yangu.
I haue wounded them, that they were not able to rise: they are fallen vnder my feete.
39 Kwa kuwa unanitia nguvu kama mshipi kwa ajili ya vita; wewe unawaweka chini yangu wale ambao wanainuka kinyume na mimi.
For thou hast girded me with strength to battell: them, that rose against me, thou hast subdued vnder me.
40 Wewe ulinipa visogo vya maadui zangu; niliwaagamiza wale walio nichukia.
And thou hast giuen me the neckes of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
41 Wao waliita msaada lakini hakuna aliye wasaidia; walimuita Yahwe, lakini hakuwaitikia.
They cryed but there was none to saue them, euen vnto the Lord, but hee answered them not.
42 Niliwapiga wao katika vipande vidogo vidogo kama vile vumbi mbele ya upepo; niliwatupa nje kama udongo mtaani.
Then I did beate them small as the dust before the winde: I did treade them flat as the clay in the streetes.
43 Wewe uliniokoa mimi kutoka katika migogoro ya watu. wewe umenifanya kichwa juu ya mataifa. Watu ambao sikuwahi kuwafahamu huntumikia.
Thou hast deliuered me from the contentions of the people: thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people, whom I haue not knowen, shall serue me.
44 Pindi tu waliposikia kuhusu mimi, wao walinitii; wageni walilazimishwa kunisujudu.
As soone as they heare, they shall obey me: the strangers shall be in subiection to me.
45 Wageni walitoka kwenye ngome yao wakitetemeka.
Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers.
46 Yahwe anaishi; mwamba wangu usifiwe. Ainuliwe Mungu wa wokovu wangu.
Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength, and the God of my saluation be exalted.
47 Yeye ni Mungu ambaye hutelekeza visasi kwa ajili yangu, ambaye huwatiisha mataifa chini yangu.
It is God that giueth me power to auenge me, and subdueth the people vnder me.
48 Nimewekwa huru kutoka kwa adui zangu! wewe uliniinua juu ya wale walioinuka kunyume na mimi! Wewe uliniokoa kutoka kwa watu wenye vurugu.
O my deliuerer from mine enemies, euen thou hast set mee vp from them, that rose against me: thou hast deliuered mee from the cruell man.
49 Kwa hiyo nitakushukuru wewe, Yahwe, kati ya mataifa; Nitaliimbia sifa jina lako!
Therefore I will prayse thee, O Lord, among the nations, and wil sing vnto thy Name.
50 Mungu hutoa ushindi mkuu kwa mfalme wake, na yeye huonyesha uaminifu wa agano lake kwa mpakwa mafuta wake, kwa Daudi na ukoo wake milele.
Great deliuerances giueth hee vnto his King, and sheweth mercie to his anoynted, euen to Dauid, and to his seede for euer.
