1 Unilinde, Mungu, kwa kuwa nakimbilia kwako kwa ajili ya usalama.
A Precious Psalm of David. Preserve me, O GOD, for I have sought refuge in thee.
2 Nami ninasema kwa Yahwe, “Wewe ni Bwana wangu; wema wangu ni bure pasipo wewe.
Thou hast said unto Yahweh, My Lord, art thou! My goodness, mounteth not unto thee.
3 Kama kwa watakatifu walioko duniani, ndio walio bora; furaha yangu yote iko kwao.
It belongeth unto the holy ones, whom, in his own land, Yahweh, ennobleth, In whom is all his delight
4 Taabu yao itaongezeka, wale watafutao miungu mingine. Sitamimina sadaka ya damu kwa miungu yao. Wala kuyainua majina yao kwa midomo yao.
They multiply their idols—another, have they purchased! I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor will I take up their names on my lips.
5 Yahwe, wewe ni sehemu ya chaguo langu na kikombe changu. Unaishikilia kesho yangu.
Yahweh, is mine allotted portion and my cup, Thou, art maintaining my lot.
6 Mistari iliyo pimwa imelelazwa mahari pa kufurahisha kwa ajili yangu; hakika urithi ufurahishao ni wangu.
The lines, have fallen unto me, in pleasant places, Verily an inheritance that delighteth me.
7 Nitakubariki Yahwe, wewe unishauliye; hata wakati wa usiku akili zangu za nielekeza.
I will bless Yahweh, who hath counselled me, —Surely, by night, shall mine impulses admonish me.
8 Nimemuweka Yahwe mbele yangu kila wakati, ili nisitikisike kutoka mkono wake wa kuume.
I have set Yahweh before me continually, because he is on my right hand, I shall not be shaken!
9 Kwa hiyo moyo wangu unafuraha, utukufu wangu washangilia. Hakika nitaishi katika usalama.
Therefore, hath my heart rejoiced, and mine honour exulted, Yea, my flesh, shall settle down securely;
10 Kwa kuwa hautaiacha roho yangu kuzimuni. Wewe hautamuacha mwaminifu wako kuliona shimo. (Sheol h7585)
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to hades, neither wilt thou suffer thy man of lovingkindness, to see corruption: (Sheol h7585)
11 Wewe hunifundisha njia ya maisha; furaha tele inakaa katika uwepo wako; furaha inakaa katika mkono wako wa kuume milele!”
Thou wilt cause me to know, the path of life, —Fulness of joys before thee, Pleasures at thy right hand evermore.
