< Zaburi 129 >

1 “Mara nyingi tangu ujana wangu wamekuwa wakinishambulia,” Israeli na iseme.
A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
2 “Mara nyingi tangu ujana wangu wamekuwa wakinishambulia, lakini hawajanishinda.
Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 Wakulima wamekuwa wakilima mgonngoni kwangu; wametengeneza matuta yao marefu.
The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
4 Yahwe ni mwenye haki; amezikata kamba za waovu.”
The LORD [is] righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5 Wote waaibishwe na kurudishwa nyuma, wale wachukiao Sayuni.
Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6 Na wawe kama nyasi juu ya paa ambayo hunyauka kabla hayajakua,
Let them be as the grass [upon] the house-tops, which withereth before it groweth up:
7 ambayo hayawezi kujaza mkono wa mvunaji wala kifua cha mfunga miganda.
With which the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves, his bosom.
8 Wale wapitao karibu wasiseme, “Baraka za Mungu na ziwe juu yako; Tunakubariki katika jina la Yahwe.”
Neither do they who go by, say, The blessing of the LORD [be] upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
