1 Sasa, ninyi makuhani, amri hii ni kwa ajili yenu.
And now, O ye Priests, this commandement is for you.
2 Kama hamtasikiliza, na kama hamtalichukua hili mioyoni mwenu na kunipa utukufu kwa jina langu, “asema Bwana wa Majeshi, Kisha nitatuma laana kwenu, na nitalaani baraka zenu. Kiukweli, nilishawalaani tayari, kwa sababu hujaweka sheria zangu moyoni.
If yee will not heare it, nor consider it in your heart, to giue glory vnto my Name, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will euen sende a curse vpon you, and will curse your blessings: yea, I haue cursed them alreadie, because yee doe not consider it in your heart.
3 Tazama, nitakikemea kizazi chako, na nitapaka mavi juu ya uso wako, mavi ya dhabihu zenu, na mtachukuliwa pamoja nayo.
Behold, I wil corrupt your seede, and cast dongue vpon your faces, euen the dongue of your solemne feastes, and you shall be like vnto it.
4 Na mtajua kwamba nimetuma hii sheria kwenu, kwamba agano langu litakuwa ni juu yangu na Lawi,” asema Bwana wa Majeshi.
And yee shall know, that I haue sent this commandement vnto you, that my couenant, which I made with Leui, might stand, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
5 Agano langu na yeye lilikuwa agano la uhai na amani, na nilimpa vitu hivi kama njia ya kuniheshimu. aliniheshima na alisimama akawa na hofu kwa jina langu.
My couenant was with him of life and peace, and I gaue him feare, and he feared mee, and was afraid before my Name.
6 Mafundisho ya kweli yalikuwa kwenye kinywa chake, na uovu haukupatikana kinywani mwake. Alitembea na mimi kwa amani na unyoofu, na aliwarudisha wengi kutoka dhambini.
The lawe of trueth was in his mouth, and there was no iniquitie founde in his lippes: hee walked with me in peace and equitie, and did turne many away from iniquitie.
7 kwa sababu midomo ya makuhani huhifadhi maarifa, na watu watatafuta maagizo kutoka kwenye kichwa chake, kwa sababu ni mjumbe wa Bwana wa Majeshi.
For the Priestes lippes shoulde preserue knowledge, and they shoulde seeke the Lawe at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hostes.
8 lakini umepita mbali na njia ya kweli. Umesababisha wengi kuwa na mashaka ya kutii sheria. umeliharifu agano la Lawi,” asema Bwana wa Majeshi.
But yee are gone out of the way: yee haue caused many to fall by the Lawe: yee haue broken the couenant of Leui, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
9 Kwa hiyo nimewafanya ninyi nanyi kudharauliwa mbele ya watu, kwa sababu hamkutunza njia zangu, lakini badala yake mnapendelea katika maagizo yenu.
Therefore haue I also made you to be despised, and vile before all the people, because yee kept not my wayes, but haue beene partiall in the Lawe.
10 Sisi sote hatuna baba mmoja? Siyo Mungu yule mmoja aliyetuumba sote? kwa nini tunafanyiana hila kila mtu na ndugu yake, mnariharibu agano la baba zetu?
Haue we not all one father? hath not one God made vs? why doe we transgresse euery one against his brother, and breake the couenant of our fathers?
11 Yuda amefanya hila na ameona kinyaa kwa vitu vilivyowekwa katika Israeli na Yerusalem. Yuda amenajisi mahali patakatifu pa Bwana ambapo anapapenda, na ameoa binti wa miungu migeni.
Iudah hath transgressed, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Ierusalem: for Iudah hath defiled the holinesse of the Lord, which hee loued, and hath maried the daughter of a strange God.
12 Mungu akukatilie mbali kutoka kwenye hema ya Yakobo na uzao wa mtu aliyefanya haya, hata yule anayeleta sadaka kwa Bwana wa Majeshi.
The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this: both the master and the seruaunt out of the Tabernacle of Iaacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lord of hostes.
13 Na wewe pia fanya hivyo. Unafunika madhabahu ya Bwana kwa machozi, kwa kilio na kuugua, kwa sababu hatakubali sadaka na kuzipokea kutoka mikononi mwako.
And this haue ye done againe, and couered the altar of the Lord with teares, with weeping and with mourning: because the offering is no more regarded, neither receiued acceptably at your handes.
14 Lakini wasema, ni kwa sababu gani?” Kwa sababu Bwana amekuwa shahidi kati yako wewe na mke wako wa ujana wako, kinyume chake umekuwa si mwaminifu, ingawa yeye ni mwenzako na mke wa agano lako.
Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant.
15 Je yeye hakuwafanya kuwa mmoja, hata kwa sehemu ya roho yake? Sasa ni kwanini aliwafanya ninyi kuwa mmoja? Kwa sababu alikuwa anategemea kupata watoto wacha Mungu. Kwa hiyo jiepushe mwenyewe ndani ya moyo wako, na asiwepo mtu asiye mwaminifu kwa mke wa ujana wake.
And did not hee make one? yet had hee abundance of spirit: and wherefore one? because he sought a godly seede: therefore keepe your selues in your spirit, and let none trespasse against the wife of his youth.
16 “Nakuchukia kuachana,” asema Bwana, Mungu wa Israel, “afunikizaye nguo yake kwa udhalimu,” asema Bwana wa Majeshi. “Kwa hiyo jilinde ewe mwenyewe ndani ya roho yako na usiwe mtu asiye mwaminifu.”
If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the Lord God of Israel, yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saieth the Lord of hosts: therefore keepe your selues in your spirite, and transgresse not.
17 Mmechosha Bwana na maneno. Lakini mwasema, “Tumekuchoshaje?” Kwa kusema Kila mmoja aliyefanya uovu ni mzuri kwa upande wa Bwana, na anafuraha nao;” au “Yuko wapi Mungu wa Haki?”
Yee haue wearied the Lord with your woordes: yet yee say, Wherein haue we wearied him? When ye say, Euery one that doeth euill, is good in the sight of the Lord, and he deliteth in them. Or where is the God of iudgement?
