Luka 13
1 Kwa wakataihuo huo, kulikuwa na baadhi watu waliomtaarifu juu ya Wagalilaya ambao Pilato aliwaua na kuchanganya damu yao na sadaka zao.
And there were certain ones at that time announcing to him concerning the Galileans, whose blood Pilate mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Yesu akajibu na kuwaambia, “Je mwadhani kuwa Wagalilaya hao walikuwa na dhambi kuliko Wagalilaya wengine wote ndiyo maana wamepatwa na mabaya hayo?
And responding to them He said, Do you think that those Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered these things?
3 Hapana, nawaambia, lakini msipotubu, nanyi mtaangamia vivyo hivyo.
T say unto you, Nay: but unless you may repent, you shall all likewise perish.
4 Au wale watu kumi na nane katika Siloamu ambao mnara ulianguka na kuwaua, mnafikiri wao walikuwa wenye dhambi zaidi kuliko watu wengine katika Yerusalemu?
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Saloam fell, and killed them, do you think that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?
5 Hapana, mimi nasema, lakini kama msipotubu, ninyi nyote pia mtaangamia.
I say unto you, Nay: but unless you may repent, you will all likewise perish.
6 Yesu aliwaambia mfano huu, “Mtu mmoja alikuwa na mtini umepandwa katika shamba lake na alikwenda kutafuta matunda juu yake lakini hakupata.
And He spoke this parable, A certain one had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard; and came seeking fruit on it and found none;
7 Akamwambia mtunza bustani, 'Tazama, kwa miaka mitatu nimekuja na kujaribu kutafuta matunda kwenye mtini huu lakini sikupata. Uukate. Kwani ulete uharibifu wa ardhi?
and he said to the vinedresser, Behold, three years from which I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree, and I find none: cut it down; why indeed does it cumber the ground?
8 Mtunza bustani akajibu na kusema, 'uache mwaka huu ili niupalilie na kuweka mbolea juu yake.
And responding he says to him, Lord, let it alone also this year, until I shall dig about it, and cast manures:
9 Kama ukizaa matunda mwaka ujao, ni vema; lakini kama hautazaa, uukate!”'
and if it may bear fruit in the future; and if not you shall cut it down.
10 Sasa Yesu alikuwa akifundisha katika mojawapo ya Masinagogi wakati wa Sabato.
And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
11 Tazama, alikuwepo mama mmoja ambaye kwa miaka kumi na minane alikuwa na rohomchafu wa udhaifu, na yeye alikuwa amepinda na hana uwezo kabisa wa kusimama.
And behold, a woman having a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and not at all able to straighten up.
12 Yesu alipomwona, alimwita, akamwambia, “Mama, umewekwa huru kutoka kwenye udhaifu wako.”
And Jesus seeing her, called to her, and said, Woman, thou art loosed from thy infirmity:
13 Akaweka mikono yake juu yake, na mara mwili wake akajinyoosha na akamtukuza Mungu.
and He placed His hands on her: and immediately she straightened up, and continued to glorify God.
14 Lakini mkuu wa sinagogi alikasirika kwa sababu Yesu alikuwa amemponya siku ya Sabato. Hivyo mtawala akajibu akawambia makutano, “Kuna siku sita ambazo ni lazima kufanya kazi. Njoni kuponywa basi, si katika siku ya Sabato. '
And the chief ruler of the synagogue, responding, being grieved because Jesus healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, There are six days in which it behooveth us to work: therefore during these, coming, be healed, and not on the Sabbath-day.
15 Bwana akamjibu na akasema, “wanafiki! Hakuna kila mmoja wenu kufungua punda wako au ng'ombe kutoka zizini na kuwaongoza kumpeleka kunywa siku ya Sabato?
And the Lord responded to him, and said, Ye hypocrites, does not each one of you loose his ox or his donkey from the stall, and leading him away, give him water on the Sabbath?
16 Hivyo pia binti wa Abrahamu, ambaye Shetani amemfunga kwa miaka kumi na minane, je haikumpasa kifungo chake kisifunguliwe siku ya sabato?”
Did it not behoove this one, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound, lo, these eighteen years, to be loosed from this bondage on the Sabbath-day?
17 Alipokuwa akisema maneno hayo, wale wote waliompinga waliona aibu, bali makutano wote wa wengine walishangilia kwa ajili ya mambo ya ajabu aliyotenda.
And He speaking these things, all opposing Him became ashamed: and the whole multitude rejoiced over all the illustrious works wrought by Him.
18 Yesu akasema, “Ufalme wa Mungu unafanana na nini, na naweza kuulinganisha na nini?
Then He said, To what is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I liken it?
19 Ni kama mbegu ya haradari aliyoitwaa mtu mmoja na kuipanda shambani mwake, na ikamea ikawa mti mkubwa, na ndege wa mbinguni wakajenga viota vyao katika matawi yake.
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man having taken, cast into his garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of heaven lodged in its branches.
20 Tena akasema, “Niufananishe na nini ufalme wa Mungu?
And again He said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 Ni kama chachu ambayo mwanamke aliichukua na kuchanganyakwenye vipimo vitatu vya unga hata ukaumuka.”
It is like leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.
22 Yesu alitembelea kila mji na kijiji njiani akielekea Yerusalemu na kuwafundisha.
And He was journeying through cities and villages, teaching, and making His journey towards Jerusalem.
23 Mtu mmoja akauliza, “Bwana, ni watu wachache tu watakaookolewa?” Hivyo akawaambia,
And one said to Him, Lord, are the saved few? And He said to them,
24 “Jitahidi kuingia kwa kupitia mlango mwembamba, kwa sababu wengi watajaribu na hawataweza kuingia.
Agonize to enter in through the narrow gate: because many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.
25 Mara baada ya mmiliki wa nyumba kusimama na kufunga mlango, basi mtasimama nje na kupiga hodi mlangoni na kusema, Bwana, Bwana, tufungulie yeye atajibu na kuwaambia, siwajui ninyi wala mtokako.'
When the landlord may rise up, and close the door, and you may begin to stand without, and knock at the door, saying, Lord, open unto us; and responding he will say unto you, I know not whence you are.
26 Ndipo mtasema, Tulikula na kunywa mbele yako na wewe ulifundisha katika mitaa yetu.”
Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in thy presence, and thou didst preach in our streets.
27 Lakini yeye atawajibu, `nawaambia, siwajui mtokako, ondokeni kwangu, ninyi watenda maovu!'
And he will say, I tell you, I know you not whence you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.
28 Kutakuwa na kilio na kusaga meno wakati mtakapowaona Abrahamu, Isaka, Yakobo na manabii wote katika ufalme wa Mungu, lakini ninyi wenyewe mumetupwa nje.
And there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you cast out.
29 Watafika kutoka Mashariki, Magharibi, Kaskazini na Kusini, na kupumzika katika meza ya chakula cha jioni katika ufalme wa Mungu.
And they will come from the east and west, and the north and south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 Na tambua hili, wa mwisho ni wa kwanza na wa kwanza atakuwa wa mwisho.”
And behold, the last shall be first, and the first shall be last.
31 Muda mfupi baadaye, baadhi ya Mafarisayo walikuja na kumwambia, “Nenda na ondoka hapa kwa sababu Herode anataka kukuua.”
At that hour certain Pharisees came to Him, saying; Depart, and go hence: because Herod wishes to slay thee.
32 Yesu akasema, “Nendeni mkamwambie yule mbweha, `Tazama, ninawafukuza pepo na kufanya uponyaji leo na kesho, na siku ya tatu nitatimiza lengo langu.
And He said to them, Having gone, tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perfect healings to-day and to-morrow, and on the third day I am made perfect.
33 Katika hali yoyote, ni muhimu kwa ajili yangu kuendelea leo, kesho, na siku iliyofuata, kwa vile haikubaliki kumuua nabii mbali na Yerusalemu.
Moreover it behooves Me to travel to-day and to-morrow and the day following: because it does not behoove a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.
34 Yerusalemu, Yerusalemu, nani anawaua manabii na kuwapiga mawe wale waliotumwa kwenu. Mara ngapi nimetaka kuwakusanya watoto wenu kama vile kuku anavyokusanya vifaranga vyake chini ya mbawa zake, lakini humkulitaka hili.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that have been sent unto thee! how frequently did I wish to gather thy children, in the manner in which a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye were not willing!
35 Tazama, nyumba yako imetelekezwa. Nami nawaambia, hamuwezi kuniona hata mtakaposema 'Amebarikiwa huyo ajaye kwa jina la Bwana.'”
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. I say unto you, that you can see me no more, until it shall come to pass that you may say, Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord.
