Yoshua 11
1 Basi ikawa aliposikia haya, Yabini, mfalme wa Hazori, alituma ujumbe kwa Yobabu, mfalme wa Madoni, na kwa mfalme Shimroni, na kwa mfalme wa Akshafu.
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard, that he sent unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph;
2 Alituma pia ujumbe kwa wafalme walikuwa katika mlima wa kaskazini mwa nchi, katika bonde la Mto Yordani kusini mwa Kinerethi, katika nchi za tambarare, na katika nchi za milima ya Dori kuelekea magharibi.
and unto the kings who were on the north in the hill country and in the waste plain south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, —and in the heights of Dor, on the west:
3 Pia, alituma ujumbe kwa Wakanaani walioko mashariki na magharibi, Waamori, Wahiti, Waperizi, Wayebusi katika nchi za milima, na Wahivi karibu na Mlima Hermoni katika nchi ya Mizipa.
the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite and the Jebusite, in the hill country, —and the Hivite, under Hermon, in the land of Mizpah;
4 Maadui zao wote walitoka pamoja nao, wanajeshi wengi sana, hesabu yao ilikuwa kama mchanga wa pwani. Walikuwa na farasi wengi sana na magari.
and they came out—they, and all their hosts with them, much people, like the sand that is upon the seashore for multitude, —with horses and chariots very many.
5 Wafalme wote hawa walikutana katika muda waliokuwa wameupanga, na walipiga kambi katika maji ya Meromu ili kupigana vita na Israeli.
And, when all these kings were gathered together, they came in, and encamped as one man, at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Yahweh akamwambia Yoshua, “Usiogope mbele zao, kwa kuwa muda kama huu kesho ninawatia hao kwa Waisraeli wakiwa wafu. Utaivunja vunja miguu ya farasi zao, na utayachoma moto magari yao.”
Then said Yahweh unto Joshua—Do not fear because of them, for, to-morrow, about this time, am I going to deliver up all of them, slain, before Israel, —their horses, shalt thou ham-string, and, their chariots, shalt thou burn up with fire.
7 Yoshua na watu wote wa vita walitoka na mara wakafika katika maji ya Meromu, na wakawashambulia maadui.
So Joshua, and all the army with him, came in upon them, by the waters of Merom, suddenly, and fell upon them.
8 Yahweh akawatia maadui katika mkono wa Israeli, na waliwapiga kwa upanga na wakawafuata mpaka Sidoni, Misrefothi - Maimu, na katika bonde la Mizipa upande wa mashariki. Waliwaua wote hakuna hata mmoja aliyeachwa hai.
And Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them as far as great Zidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpeh, eastward, —yea they smote them until they left them not a survivor.
9 Yoshua aliwatendea kama vile Yahweh alivyomwambia. Alivunja miguu ya farasi na magari aliyachoma moto.
And Joshua did unto them, as Yahweh had said unto him, —their horses, he ham-strung, and, their chariots, burned he up with fire.
10 Kwa wakati huo, Yoshua alirudi na akauteka mji wa Hazori. Alimwua mfalme wake kwa upanga (Hazori ulikuwa ni kichwa cha falme hizi zote).
Then Joshua turned back, at that time, and captured Hazor, and, the king thereof, smote he with the sword, —for, Hazor, aforetime, was the head of all these kingdoms.
11 Waliwapiga kwa upanga kila kiumbe chenye uhai kilichokuwa huko, na alivitenga ili viteketezwe, hivyo hapakuwa na kiumbe hai kilichoachwa hai. Na kisha aliuchoma moto Hazori.
And they smote all the souls that were therein, with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, there was left no breathing thing, —and, Hazor, burned he up with fire.
12 Yoshua aliiteka miji yote ya wafalme hawa. Aliwateka pia wafalme wake wote na akawapiga wote kwa upanga. Aliwateketeza kabisa kwa upanga, kama Musa mtumishi wa Yahweh alivyoagiza.
And, all the cities of these kings, and all the kings thereof, did Joshua capture, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, —as Moses, the servant of Yahweh, commanded.
13 Waisraeli hawakuchoma moto mji wowote miongoni mwa miji iliyojengwa juu ya vilima vya vifuasi vya udongo, isipokuwa Hazori, ndio mji pekee ambao Yoshua aliuchoma kwa moto.
Yet, none of the cities that were still standing upon their mound, did Israel burn, none but Hazor alone, did Joshua burn.
14 Jeshi la Israeli lilichukua nyara kutoka katika miji pamoja na mifugo kwa ajili yao wenyewe. Waliua kila mtu kwa upanga hadi pale walipokufa wote. Hakuna kiumbe hai kilichoachwa hai.
But, all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, did the sons of Israel take as their prey, —nevertheless, all the human beings, smote they with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, they left remaining no breathing thing.
15 Kama vile Yahweh alivyomwagiza mtumishi wake Musa, na kwa namna hiyo hiyo, Musa alivyomwagiza Yoshua. Na katika mambo yote ambayo Yahweh alimwamuru Musa kuyafanya, Yoshua hakuacha kufanya hata jambo moja.
As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so, Moses commanded Joshua, and, so, Joshua, did, he set aside nothing of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
16 Yoshua alitwaa nchi hiyo yote, nchi ya milima, Negevu yote, nchi yote ya Gosheni, nchi ya vilima vidogo, bonde la Mto Yordani, nchi ya milima ya Israeli, na nchi tambarare.
So Joshua took all this land—the hill country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the waste plain, —and the hill country of Israel, and the lowland thereof:
17 Kutoka Mlima Halaki karibu na Edomu, kuelekea kasikazini hadi Baali Gadi katika bonde karibu na Lebanoni chini ya Mlima Hermoni, aliwateka wafalme wake wote na kuwaua.
from Mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even as far as Baal-gad, in the valley of the Lebanon, under Mount Hermon, —and, all their kings, he captured, and smote them, and put them to death.
18 Yoshua alipigana vita na wafalme wote kwa muda mrefu.
Many days, did Joshua, with all these kings, make war.
19 Hakuna hata mji mmoja uliofanya amani na jeshi la Israeli isipokuwa Wahivi walioishi Gibeoni. Israeli ilitwaa miji yote iliyosalia katika vita.
There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel, save the Hivites dwelling in Gibeon, —the whole, took they in battle.
20 Kwa kuwa alikuwa ni Yahweh ambaye alikuwa ameifanya kuwa migumu mioyo yao ili wapande na kufanya vita dhidi ya Israeli, ili kwamba aweze kuwaangamiza kabisa, na kutowaonesha huruma, kama alivyomwaagiza Musa.
For, from Yahweh, came it to pass, that their heart was emboldened to come out to war with Israel, that he might devote them to destruction, that they might find no favour, —but that he might destroy them, —as Yahweh commanded Moses.
21 Kisha Yoshua akaja kwa wakati ule na aliiangamiza Anakimu. Aliyafanya haya katika nchi ya milima, huko Hebroni, Debiri, Anabu, na katika nchi yote ya Yuda, na katika nchi yote ya milima ya Israeli. Yoshua aliwaangamiza kabisa pamoja na miji yao.
And Joshua came in, at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country—from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel, —with their cities, did Joshua devote them to destruction.
22 Hakuna hata mmoja wa watu wa Anakimu aliyeachwa katika nchi ya Israeli, isipokuwa huko Gaza, Gathi na Ashidodi.
There was left remaining none of the Anakim, in the land of the sons of Israel, —save only, in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
23 Hivyo Yoshua aliiteka nchi yote, kama vile Yahweh alivyomwambia Musa. Yoshua aliwapa Israeli kama urithi, kila kabila lilipewa sehemu yake. Kisha nchi ikapumzika bila vita.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken unto Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel, according to their portions by their tribes, —and, the land, had rest from war.
