Yohana 10
1 Amin, Amini nawaambieni, yule asiyeingia kwa kupitia mlango wa zizi la kondoo, lakini anapanda kwa njia nyingine, mtu huyo ni mwizi na mnyang'anyi.
“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 Yeye aingiaye mlangoni ni mchungaji wa kondoo.
But the one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 Kwake mlinzi wa mlango humfungulia. Kondoo waisikia sauti yake na huwaita kondoo zake kwa majina yao na kuwatoa nje.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 Atakapowatoa nje hao walio wake, huwatangulia, na kondoo humfuata, kwa sababu wanaijua sauti yake.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5 Hawatamfuata mgeni lakini badala yake watamuepuka, kwa sababu hawazijui sauti za wageni.”
But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize his voice.”
6 Yesu alisema mfano huu kwao, lakini hawakuyaelewa mambo haya ambayo alikuwa akisema kwao.
Jesus spoke to them using this illustration, but they did not understand what He was telling them.
7 Yesu akasema nao tena, “Amini, amini, nawaambia, Mimi ni mlango wa kondoo.
So He said to them again, “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 Wote walionitangulia ni wezi na wanyang'anyi, lakini kondoo hawakuwasikiliza.
All who came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 Mimi ni mlango. Yeyote aingiaye kupitia kwangu, ataokolewa; ataingia ndani na kutoka, naye atajipatia malisho.
I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.
10 Mwizi haji isipokuwa kuiba, kuua, na kuangamiza. Nimekuja ili kwamba wapate uzima na wawe nao tele.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
11 Mimi ni mchungaji mwema. Mchungaji mwema huutoa uhai wake kwa ajili ya kondoo.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 Mtumishi aliyeajiriwa, na siyo mchungaji, ambaye kondoo si mali yake, huwaona mbwa mwitu wakija na huwaacha na kuwakimbia kondoo.
The hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.
13 Na mbwa mwitu huwakamata na kuwatawanya. Hukimbia kwa sababu ni mtumishi wa kuajiriwa na hawajali kondoo.
The man runs away because he is a hired servant and is unconcerned for the sheep.
14 Mimi ni mchungaji mwema, na ninawajua walio wangu, nao walio wangu wananijua mimi.
I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me,
15 Baba ananijua, nami namjua Baba, nami nautoa uhai wangu kwa ajili ya kondoo.
just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 Ninao kondoo wengine ambao si wa zizi hili. Hao pia, yanipasa kuwaleta, nao wataisikia sauti yangu ili kwamba pawepo na kundi moja na mchungaji mmoja.
I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.
17 Hii ndiyo sababu Baba ananipenda: Niutoe uhai wangu halafu niutwae tena.
The reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again.
18 Hakuna auchukuaye kutoka kwangu, lakini mimi nautoa mwenyewe. Ninayo mamlaka ya kuutoa, na ninayo mamlaka ya kuutwaa pia. Nimelipokea agizo hili kutoka kwa Baba.”
No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from My Father.”
19 Mgawanyiko tena ukatokea kati ya wayahudi kwa sababu ya maneno haya.
Again there was division among the Jews because of Jesus’ message.
20 Wengi wao wakasema, “Ana pepo na ni kichaa. Kwa nini mnamsikiliza?”
Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and insane. Why would you listen to Him?”
21 Wengine wakasema, “Haya siyo maneno ya mtu aliyepagawa na mapepo. Pepo linaweza kufungua macho ya kipofu?”
But others replied, “These are not the words of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
22 Ndipo ikaja Sikukuu ya Kuwekwa Wakfu Yerusalemu.
At that time the Feast of Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,
23 Ulikuwa wakati wa baridi, na Yesu alikuwa akitembea hekaluni katika ukumbi wa Selemani.
and Jesus was walking in the temple courts in Solomon’s Colonnade.
24 Ndipo Wayahudi walipomzunguka na kumwambia, “Mpaka lini utatuweka katika mashaka? kama wewe ni Kristo, tuambie wazi.
So the Jews gathered around Him and demanded, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
25 Yesu akawajibu, “Nimekwisha waambia lakini hamuamini. Kazi nizifanyazo kwa jina la Baba yangu, hizo zinashuhudia juu yangu.
“I already told you,” Jesus replied, “but you did not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify on My behalf.
26 Hata hivyo hamuamini kwa sababu ninyi si kondoo wangu.
But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe.
27 Kondoo wangu waisikia sauti yangu; Nawajua, nao wanifuata mimi.
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.
29 Baba yangu, aliyenipa hao, ni mkuu kuliko wengine wote, na hakuna hata mmoja aliye na uwezo wa kuwanyakua kutoka mkononi mwa Baba.
My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 Mimi na Baba tu mmoja.”
I and the Father are one.”
31 Wakabeba mawe ili wamponde tena.
At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him.
32 Yesu akawajibu, “Nimeshawaonesha kazi nyingi nzuri kutoka kwa Baba. Kwa kazi zipi kati ya hizo mnataka kuniponda mawe?”
But Jesus responded, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?”
33 Wayahudi wakamjibu, “Hatukupondi mawe kwa kazi yoyote iliyo nzuri, lakini kwa kukufuru, kwa sababu wewe, uliye mtu, unajifanya kuwa Mungu.”
“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.”
34 Yesu akawajibu, “Haikuandikwa katika sheria yenu, 'Nilisema, “Ninyi ni miungu”'?”
Jesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’?
35 Ikiwa aliwaita miungu, kwa wale ambao Neno la Mungu liliwajilia (na Maandiko hayawezi kuvunjwa),
If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—
36 mnasema juu ya yule ambaye Baba alimtoa na kumtuma katika ulimwengu, 'Unakufuru,' kwa sababu nilisema, 'mimi ni Mwana wa Mungu'?
then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?
37 “Ikiwa sifanyi kazi za Baba yangu, msiniamini.
If I am not doing the works of My Father, then do not believe Me.
38 Hata hivyo, ikiwa ninazifanya, hata kama hamniamini, ziaminini kazi ili kwamba muweze kujua na kufahamu kwamba Baba yuko ndani yangu na mimi niko ndani ya Baba.”
But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works themselves, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.”
39 Wakajaribu tena kumkamata Yesu, lakini alienda zake kutoka mikononi mwao.
At this, they tried again to seize Him, but He escaped their grasp.
40 Yesu akaenda zake tena ng'ambo ya Yordani sehemu ambayo Yohana alikuwa akibatiza kwanza, na akakaa huko.
Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had first been baptizing, and He stayed there.
41 Watu wengi wakaja kwa Yesu. Waliendelea kusema, “Yohana kweli hakufanya ishara yoyote, lakini mambo yote aliyoyasema Yohana juu ya huyu mtu ni ya kweli.”
Many came to Him and said, “Although John never performed a sign, everything he said about this man was true.”
42 Watu wengi wakamwamini Yesu hapo.
And many in that place believed in Jesus.
