Ayubu 16
1 Ndipo Ayubu akajibu na kusema,
Then answered Job, and said,
2 “Mimi nimevisikia vitu hivyo vingi; ninyi nyote ni wafariji wenye kuhuzunisha.
I have heard many things such as these: troublesome comforters are ye all.
3 Maneno yenye upuuzi daima yanaweza kuwa na mwisho? Nini kimeharibika kwenu kwamba mnajibu kama hivi?
Shall there be any end to words of wind? or what compelleth thee that thou shouldst answer?
4 Mimi pia ningeweza kuzungumza kama ninyi mnavyofanya, kama ninyi mngekuwa katika nafasi yangu; Mimi ningekusanya na kuunganisha maneno pamoja dhidi yenu na kutikisa kichwa changu kwenu ninyi katika dhihaka.
I also could well speak as ye do: if your soul were but in my soul's stead, I could overwhelm you with words, and could shake my head at you.
5 Laiti, jinsi gani Mimi ningewatia moyo na midomo yangu! Jinsi gani faraja kutoka midomo yangu ingenga'risha huzuni yenu!
But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the condolence of my lips should restrain [your grief].
6 Ikiwa Mimi ninazungumza, kuomboleza kwangu hakujasikilizwa; Ikiwa nikiendelea katika kuzungumza, jinsi gani mimi ninaidiwa?
Though I were to speak, my pain would not be restrained; and though I should forbear, what will go away from me?
7 Lakini sasa, Mungu,
But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
8 wewe umenifanya mimi kuchoka; wewe umeifanya familia yangu yote kuwa ukiwa. Wewe umenifanya mimi kukauka, ambayo yenyewe ni ushuhuda dhidi yangu mimi; kukonda kwa mwili wangu huinuka dhidi yangu, na kunashuhudia dhidi ya macho yangu.
And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, they are my witnesses; and my leanness riseth up for me, giveth its testimony to my face.
9 Mungu amenirarua mimi katika ghadhabu yake na amenitesa mimi; Yeye amenisaga mimi kwa meno yake; Adui yangu amenikazia macho yake juu yangu kama yeye anavyonirarua mimi vipande.
In his wrath he teareth me to pieces, and assaileth me: he gnasheth over me with his teeth; my adversary sendeth threatening looks at me.
10 Watu wameachama na midomo iliyowazi juu yangu; wamenipiga mimi katika shavu kwa kunitukana; wamekusanyika pamoja kinyume changu mimi.
They now open wide against me their mouth; reproachfully they smite my cheek: altogether do they assemble against me.
11 Mungu amenikabidhi mimi juu ya watu wasio mcha Mungu, na kunitupa mimi ndani ya mikono ya watu waovu.
God hath surrendered me to the unjust, and cast me down into the hands of the wicked.
12 Mimi nilikuwa katika wepesi, na yeye amenivunjavunja mimi vipande. Hakika, amenichukua mimi kwa shingo na ameniponda mimi vipande vipande; yeye pia ameniweka mimi juu kama shabaha yake.
I was at ease, but he hath crushed me; he hath also grasped me by the neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up unto himself as a mark;
13 Wapiga upinde wake wote wamenizunguka mimi; Mungu huzikata vipande vipande figo zangu, na haniokoi mimi; yeye humwaga nje nyongo yangu juu ya ardhi.
His archers encompass me round about; he cleaveth my reins sunder, and doth not pity; he poureth out upon the ground my gall;
14 yeye hukanyaga kanyaga kupitia ukuta wangu tena na tena; yeye hukimbia juu yangu mimi kama shujaa.
He breaketh me down with breach upon breach; he runneth against me like a mighty man.
15 nguo ya magunia juu ya ngozi yangu; Mimi nimeisukuma kwa nguvu pembe yangu ndani ya ardhi.
Sackcloth have I sewed upon my skin, and my horn I roll in the dust.
16 Uso wangu ni mwekundu na kuomboleza; juu ya ngozi inayofunika macho kuna kivuli cha mauti
My face gloweth from weeping, and on my eyelids resteth the shadow of death:
17 ingawa hakuna dhuluma katika mikono yangu, na kuomba kwangu ni safi.
Not because any violence is in my hands, and while my prayer is pure.
18 Nchi, haifuniki juu damu yangu mimi; acha kulia kwangu kuwe hakuna mahali pa kupumzika.
Earth! do thou not cover up my blood, and let no place restrain my cry.
19 Hata sasa, tazama, ushuhuda wangu uko mbinguni; yeye ambaye ashuhudiaye kwa ajili yangu mimi yuko juu.
Even now, behold, my witness is in the heavens, and one that testifieth for me is on high.
20 Rafiki zangu wananicheka kwa dharau, lakini jicho langu linamwaga machozi kwa Mungu.
Are my friends my defenders? unto God my eye poureth out [its tears].
21 Mimi ninaomba ule ushuhuda ulioko mbinguni kumtetea mtu huyu na Mungu kama mwanadamu afanyavyo na jirani yake.
And oh that a man might plead with God, as one son of earth with the other!
22 Kwa maana wakati miaka michache itakapokuwa imepita, Mimi nitakwenda mahali ambapo mimi sitaweza kurudi.
For when the numbered years are passed, then must I travel a path whence I cannot return.
