Ayubu 13
1 Tazama, jicho langu limeyaona haya yote; sikio langu limeyasikia na kuyaelewa hayo.
Behold, mine eye has seen these things, and mine ear has heard [them].
2 Kile mnachokifahamu, ndicho hicho mimi pia ninachokifahamu; Mimi siyo duni kwenu ninyi.
And I know all that you too know; and I have not less understanding than you.
3 Hata hivyo, Mimi ningeweza kuzungumza na mwenye nguvu; Mimi natamani kusemezana na Mungu.
Nevertheless I will speak to the Lord, and I will reason before him, if he will.
4 Lakini ninyi mnauficha ukweli kwa uongo; ninyi nyote ni tabibu msiokuwa na thamani.
But you are all bad physicians, and healers of diseases.
5 Laiti, kwamba kwa pamoja mngeshikilia amani yenu! Hilo lingekuwa hekima yenu ninyi.
But would that you were silent, and it would be wisdom to you in the end.
6 Sikia sasa kuhoji kwangu; Sikiliza kusihi kwa midomo yangu mwenyewe.
But hear you the reasoning of my mouth, and attend to the judgment of my lips.
7 Ninyi mtazungumza visivyo haki kwa ajili ya Mungu, na ninyi mtazungumza udanganyifu kwa yeye? Ni kweli ninyi mngeonyesha ukarimu kwa yeye?
Do you not speak before the Lord, and utter deceit before him?
8 Ni kweli ninyi mngetetea katika mahakama kama mawakili wa Mungu?
Or will you draw back? nay do, you yourselves be judges.
9 Je, kweli ingekuwa vizuri kwenu wakati yeye akiwatafuta ninyi? Mngeweza ninyi kumdanganya yeye kama mlivyoweza kuwadanganya watu?
For [it were] well if he would thoroughly search you: for though doing all things [in your power] you should attach yourselves to him,
10 Yeye kwa hakika angewathibitisha upya ninyi ikiwa katika siri ninyi mmeonyesha kutokukamilika.
he will not reprove you at all the less: but if moreover you should secretly respect persons,
11 Je, ukuu wake usingewafanya ninyi muogope? Je, utisho wake usingeshuka juu yenu?
shall not his whirlpool sweep you round, and terror from him fall upon you?
12 Hadithi zenu za misemo ya kukariri, ni mithali zimetengenezwa kwa majivu; utetezi wenu ni utetezi uliotengenezwa kwa udongo wa mfinyanzi.
And your glorying shall prove in the end to you like ashes, and your body [like a body] of clay.
13 Shikilieni amani yenu, mniache peke yangu, ili ya kwamba nipate kusema, acheni yaje yale yanayoweza kuja kwangu.
Be silent, that I may speak, and cease from [mine] anger,
14 Nitaichukua nyama yangu mwenywewe katika meno yangu; Nitayachukua maisha yangu katika mikono yangu.
while I may take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand.
15 Tazama, ikiwa ataniua mimi, sitakuwa na tumaini lililobakia; hata hivyo, nitazitetea njia zangu mbele zake yeye.
Though the Mighty One should lay hand upon me, forasmuch as he has begun, verily I will speak, and plead before him.
16 Hiki kitakuwa sababu ya kutohesabiwa hatia, kwamba mimi sikuja mbele zake kama mtu asiyemcha Mungu.
And this shall turn to me for salvation; for fraud shall have no entrance before him.
17 Mungu, sikiliza kwa makini kuzungumza kwangu; ruhusu kutangaza kwangu kuje kwenye masikio yako.
Hear, hear you my words, for I will declare in your hearing.
18 Tazama sasa, Nimeuweka utetezi wangu katika mpangilio, Mimi ninafahamu kwamba mimi sina hatia.
Behold, I am near my judgment: I know that I shall appear evidently just.
19 Ni nani anayeweza kushindana na mimi katika mahakama? Ikiwa mlikuja kufanya hivyo, na kama mimi nilithibitishwa kukosea, ndipo ningekuwa kimya na kuyatoa maisha yangu.
For who is he that shall plead with me, that I should now be silent, and expire?
20 Mungu, fanya mambo mawili kwa ajili yangu, na tena Mimi sitajificha kutoka katika uso wako.
But grant me two things: then I will not hide myself from your face.
21 Ondoa kutoka kwangu mkono wako unaotesa, na usiache utisho wako unifanye mimi kuogopa.
Withhold [your] hand from me: and let not your fear terrify me.
22 Ndipo niite mimi, na mimi nitakujibu; au uniache mimi niseme na wewe na wewe unijibu mimi.
Then shall you call, and I will listen to you: or you shall speak, and I will give you an answer.
23 Je, maovu yangu na dhambi zangu ni ngapi? Nijulishe kosa langu na dhambi yangu.
How many are my sins and my transgressions? teach me what they are.
24 Kwa nini unaficha uso wako kutoka kwangu mimi na kunitendea mimi kama adui yako?
Therefore hide you yourself from me, and deem me your enemy?
25 Je, wewe utalitesa jani linalopeperushwa? Je, utaendelea kulifuatilia bua kavu?
Will you be startled [at me], as [at] a leaf shaken by the wind? or will you set yourself against me as against grass borne upon the breeze?
26 Kwa maana wew unaandika chini vitu vichungu dhidi yangu mimi; wewe unanifanya mimi kurithi uovu wa ujana wangu.
for you have written evil things against me, and you have compassed me with the sins of my youth.
27 Wewe pia unaiweka miguu yangu katika nguo nyembamba; wewe waangalia njia zangu zote; wewe wachunguza chini mahali ambapo nyayo za miguu yangu zimekanyaga.
And you have placed my foot in the stocks; and you have watched all my works, and have penetrated my heels.
28 japokuwa mimi ni kama kitu kilichooza ambacho hutupwa mbali, kama vazi lile ambalo nondo wamelila.
[I am as] that which waxes old like a bottle, or like a moth-eaten garment.
