1 Kisha tuligeuka na kwenda njia ya juu Bashani. Ogi, mfalme wa Bashani, alikuja na kutuvamia, yeye na watu wake wote, kupigana huko Edrei.
Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2 Yahwe aliniambia mimi, “Usimuogope; kwa kuwa nimekupa ushindi dhidi yake na nimewaweka watu wake wote na nchi yake chini ya utawala wako. Utamfanya kama ulivyomfanya Sihoni, mfalme wa Amorites, aliyeishi Heshbon.
Adonai said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people, and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], who lived at Heshbon.”
3 Kwa hiyo Yahwe Mungu wetu pia alitupa ushindi dhidi ya Ogi mfalme wa Bashani, na watu wake wote waliwekwa chini ya utawala wetu. Na tulimpiga mpaka kufa na hakuna yoyote wa watu wake walibaki.
So Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God] delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck him until no one was left to him remaining.
4 Tulichukua miji yake yote kwa wakati huo; hapakuwa na mji hata mmoja ambao hatukuchukua kutoka kwao: miji sitini - mikoa ya Argobi yote, ufalme wa Ogi Bashani.
We took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5 Hii ilikuwa miji iliyoimarishwa na kuta ndevu, malango, na vizuizi, hii ilikuwa licha ya vijiji vingi sana vilivyokuwa havina kuta.
All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides a great many villages without walls.

We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

But all the livestock, and the plunder of the cities, we took for plunder for ourselves.
8 Kwa wakati huo tulichukua nchi kutoka kwenye mkono wa wafalme wawili wa Amorites, waliokuwa ng'ambo ya pili ya Yordani, kutoka kwenye bonde la Arnon kwenda mlima wa Hermoni,
We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers] who were beyond the Jordan [Descender], from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon [Devoted to destruction].

(The Sidonians call Hermon [Devoted to destruction] Sirion, and the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers] call it Senir.)

This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites:
13 Waliobaki wa Gileadi na Bashani yote, ufalme wa Ogi, Niliwapa nusu kabila la Manasseh: kwa wote wa Argob, na Bashani yote. (Eneo hilo linaitwa nchi ya Refaim)
and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh [Causing to forget]; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim [Descendants of Terrible one].

16 Kwa Reubenites na kwa Gadites nilitoa eneo kutoka kwa Gileadi kuelekea bonde la Arnon- katikati mwa bonde ni mpaka wa eneo- na kuelekea mto wa Jabbok, ambao umepakana ni wazao wa Ammoni.
To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon [Tribal people];
17 Moja ya mipaka mingine pia ni tambarare ya bonde la mto wa Yordani, kutoka Chinnerethi kuelekea bahari ya Arabah(ambayo ni bahari ya Chumvi) kuelekea miteremko wa mlima wa Pisgah mashariki.
the Arabah also, and the Jordan [Descender] and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.
18 Nilikuamuru wewe kwa wakati huo, kusema, Yahwe Mungu wako amekupa nchi hii kuimiliki, wewe, wamaume wote wa vita, watapita wakiwa na silaha mbele ya ndugu zako, watu wa Israeli.
I enjoined you at that time, saying, “Adonai your God has given you this land to possess it. You shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel [God prevails], all the men of valor.
19 Lakini wake zenu, watoto wenu, na ng'ombe zenu (najua ya kuwa una ng'ombe wengi) watabaki katika miji yenu niliyowapa,
But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,
20 mpaka Yahwe awape pumziko ndugu zenu, kama alivyo kwenu, mpaka wamiliki pia nchi ambayo Yahwe Mungu wenu anawapa ng'ambo ya pili Yordani, kisha mtageuka, kila mtu wenu, kwa mali zenu ambazo nimekwishawapa.
until Adonai gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Adonai your God gives them beyond the Jordan [Descender]. Then you shall each teshuvah ·completely return· to his own possession, which I have given you.”
21 Nilimwamuru Yoshua kwa wakati huo, kusema, 'Macho yenu yameona yote yale Yahwe Mungu wenu amefanya kwa hawa wafalme wawili; Yahwe atafanya hivyo kwa falme zote kote mtakakoenda.
I enjoined Joshua [Yah Salvation] at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Adonai your God has done to these two kings. So shall Adonai do to all the kingdoms where you go over.
22 Hamtawaogopa, kwa kuwa Yahwe Mungu wenu ndiye atakaoawapigania.'
You shall not fear them; for Adonai your God himself fights for you.”
23 Nilimsihi Yahwe kwa wakati huo, kusema,
I begged Adonai at that time, saying,
24 'O Bwana Yahwe, umeanza kumuonesha mtumwa wako ukuu wako na mkono wako wa hodari; kwa kuwa nani mungu aliyeko huko mbinguni au duniani ambaye anaweza kufanya kazi zilezile kama ilivyofanya, na matendo yaleyale makuu?
“'Adonay Adonai [Lord Yahweh], you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what deity is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours?
25 Hebu niende juu, Ninakuoma, na nione nchi nzuri ambayo ng'ambo ya pili ya Yordani, ile nchi nzuri ya mlima, na pia Lebanoni.
Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan [Descender], that fine mountain, and Lebanon.”
26 Lakini Yahwe alikuwa amenikasirikia mimi kwa sababu yenu, hakunisikiliza mimi. Yahwe alisema kwangu, “Hebu hii iwe ya kutosha kwako - usizungumze zaidi tena kwangu kuhusu jambo hili.
But Adonai was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· me. Adonai said to me, “Let this satisfy you. Speak no more to me of this matter.
27 nenda juu ya kilele cha Pisgah na uinue macho yako magharibi, mashariki, kusini na mashariki; tazama kwa macho yako kwa kuwa hautaenda zaidi ya Yordani.
Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes; for you shall not go over this Jordan [Descender].
28 Badala yake, mwelekeze Yoshua na kumtia moyo na kumuimarisha, kwa kuwa ataenda zaidi mbele ya watu, na atawasababisha kuirithi nchi ambayo mtaiona.
But enjoin Joshua [Yah Salvation], and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”
29 Kwa hiyo tulibaki katika bonde mkabala mwa Beth Peor.
So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
