2 Wathesalonike 1

1 Paulo, Silwano, na Timotheo, kwa kanisa la Wathesalonike katika Mungu Baba yetu na Bwana Yesu Kristo.

Paul and Silvanus and Timothy. To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Neema na iwe kwenu na amani itokayo kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo.

Grace to you, and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Imetupasa sisi kumshukuru Mungu siku zote kwa ajili yenu, ndugu. Maana hivi ndivyo itupasavyo, kwa kuwa imani yenu inakua sana, na upendo wenu kwa kila mtu uongezeke mwingi.

I ought always to thank God for you, brothers, as is fitting because of the abundant growth of your faith and of the overflowing love with which every one of you is filled toward one another.

4 Hivyo sisi wenyewe tunaongea kwa fahari juu yenu katika makanisa ya Mungu. Tunazungumza habari ya saburi yenu na imani mliyo nayo katika mateso yote. Tunaongea kwa habari ya mateso mnayostahimili.

So that I myself am boasting about you among the churches of God, boasting of the stedfastness and faith which you are displaying in all the troubles and afflictions which you are enduring.

5 Hii ndiyo ishara ya hukumu ya haki ya Mungu. Matokeo ya haya ni kuwa ninyi mhesabiwe kuwa mwastahili kuuingia ufalme wa Mungu ambao kwa ajili yake mnateswa.

They are an evidence of the righteous judgment of God, who will count you worthy of his kingdom, in behalf of which you are even now suffering.

6 Kwa kuwa ni haki kwa Mungu kuwalipa mateso wale wawatesao ninyi,

For truly God’s justice must render back trouble to those who are troubling you,

7 na kuwapa raha ninyi mteswao pamoja nasi. Atafanya hivi wakati wa kufunuliwa kwake Bwana Yesu kutoka mbinguni pamoja na malaika wa uweza wake.

and give to you, who are now troubled, rest, along with me at the unveiling "apocalypse" of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with his mighty angels,

8 Katika mwali wa moto atawalipiza kisasi wao wasiomjua Mungu na wao wasioitii injili ya Bwana wetu Yesu.

in flaming fire. Then shall he take vengeance on those who know not God, even on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

9 Watateseka kwa maangamizi ya milele wakiwa wametengwa na uwepo wa Bwana na utukufu wa nguvu zake. (aiōnios g166)

They shall suffer punishment, even an eternal destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the brightness of his glorious majesty, (aiōnios g166)

10 Atafanya wakati atakapokuja ili kutukuzwa na watu wake na kustaajabishwa na wote walioamini. Kwa sababu ushuhuda wetu kwenu ulisadikiwa kwenu.

when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be wondered at in all believers, on that Day; (for you also believed our testimony).

11 Kwa sababu hii twawaombea ninyi siku zote. Twaomba kwamba Mungu wetu awahesabu kuwa mlistahili kuitwa. Twaomba kwamba apate kutimiza kila haja ya wema na kila kazi ya imani kwa nguvu.

To this end I am making my constant prayer for you, beseeching God to make you worthy of your calling, and to fulfil mightily every desire of goodness and effort of faith;

12 Tunaomba mambo haya ili mpate kulitukuza jina la Bwana Yesu. Tunaomba kwamba mpate kutukuzwa naye, kwa sababu ya neema ya Mungu na ya Bwana Yesu Kristo.

so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in him, according to the grace of our God and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
