2 Wathesalonike 2

1 Sasa kuhusu kuja kwa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo na kukusanywa pamoja ili tuwe naye: tunawaomba ninyi ndugu zetu,

Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, and our gathering together to him, we ask you

2 kwamba msisumbuliwe wala kutabishwa kwa urahisi, kwa roho, au kwa ujumbe au kwa barua inayoonkana kuwa imetoka kwetu, ikisema ya kuwa siku ya Bwana tayari imekuja.

not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of the Lord had come.

3 Mtu na asiwadanganye kwa namna yoyote. Kwa kuwa haitakuja mpaka lile anguko litokee kwanza na mtu wa uasi afunuliwe, yule mwana wa uharibifu.

Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

4 Huyu ndiye apingaye naye hujiinua mwenyewe akimpinga Mungu na chochote kinachoabudiwa. Na matokeo yake, hukaa kwenye hekalu la Mungu na kujionyesha yeye kuwa kama Mungu.

he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.

5 Je, hamkumbuki kuwa nilipokuwa nanyi niliwaambia juu ya mambo haya?

Do you not remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things?

6 Sasa mnajua kile kinachomzuia, ili kwamba aweze kufunuliwa kwa wakati sahihi utakapowadia.

Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.

7 Kwa kuwa siri ya yule mtu mwenye kuasi inafanya kazi mpaka sasa, ila tu kuna anaye mzuia sasa mpaka atakapotolewa njiani.

For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.

8 Ndipo yule mwenye kuasi atakapofunuliwa, amabaye Bwana Yesu atamwua kwa pumzi ya kinywa chake. Bwana atamfanya kuwa si chochote kwa ufunuo wa ujio wake.

Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;

9 Ujio wa yule mwenye kuasi utakuwa kwa sababu ya kazi ya shetani kwa nguvu zote, ishara na maajabu ya uongo,

even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 na uongo wote wenye udhalimu. Mambo haya yatakuwepo kwa wale wanaopotea, kwa sababu hawakuupokea upendo wa kweli kwa ajili ya kuokolewa kwao.

and with all deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 Kwa sababu hiyo Mungu anawatumia kazi yenye uovu ili waamini uongo.

And because of this, God sends them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,

12 Matokeo yake ni kwamba wote watahukumiwa, wale ambao hawakuamini ukweli bali wao hujifurahisha katika udhalimu.

in order that all might be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 Lakini inatupasa tumshukuru Mungu kila mara kwa ajili yenu ndugu mpendwao na Bwana. Kwa sababu Bwana aliwachagua ninyi kama malimbuko ya wokovu kwa utakaso wa Roho na imani katika ile kweli.

But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth;

14 Hiki ndicho alichowaitieni ninyi, kwamba kupitia injili muweza kuupata utukufu wa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.

to which he called you through our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah.

15 Kwa hiyo, ndugu, simameni imara. Ueleweni ule utamaduni mliofundishwa, kwa neno au kwa barua yetu.

So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.

16 Sasa, Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo mwenyewe, na Mungu Baba yetu aliyetupenda na kutupa faraja ya milele na ujasiri mwema kwa ajili ya maisha yajayo kupitia neema, (aiōnios g166)

Now our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us everlasting comfort and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)

17 awafariji na kuifanya imara mioyo yenu katika kila neno na kazi njema.

comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.
