1 Watu wote wa Yuda wakamchukua Uzia, ambaye alikuwa na aumri wa mika kumi na sita, na wakamfanya mfalme katika nafasi ya baba yake Amazia.
Then all the people of the land took Ozias, and he was sixteen years old, and they made him king in the room of his father Amasias.
2 Ndiye aliuyeijenga tena Elathi na kuurejesha kwa Yuda. Baada ya hapo mfalme akalala pamoja na babu zake.
He built Aelath, he recovered it to Juda, after the king slept with his fathers.
3 Uzia alikuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na sita alipoanza kutawala. Akatawala miaka ishirini na mabili katika Yerusalemu. Jina la mama yake lilikuwa Yekolia; alikuwa wa Yerusalemu.
Ozias began to reign at the age of sixteen years, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jechelia of Jerusalem.
4 Akafanya yaliyokuwa sahihi katika macho ya Yahwe, akiufuata mfano wa baba yake, katika kila jamabo.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Amasias his father did.
5 Alijitoa kumtafuta Mungu katiaka siku za Zekaria, ambaye alimpa maelekezo kwa ajili ya kumtii Mungu. Kadri alivyomtafuta Yaahwe, Mungu alimfanikisha.
And he sought the Lord in the days of Zacharias, who understood the fear of the Lord; and in his days he sought the Lord, and the Lord prospered him.
6 Uzia akaenda na kupigana zidi ya Wafilisti. Akaubomoa ukuta wa mji wa Gathi, Yabne, na Ashdodi; akajenga miji katika nchi ya Ashdodi na miongoni mwa Wafilisti.
And he went out and fought against the Philistines, and pulled down the walls of Geth, and the walls of Jabner, and the walls of Azotus, and he built cities [near] Azotus, and among the Philistines.
7 Mungu aakaamsaidia zidi ya Wafilist, zidi ya Waarabu waliokuwa wakiishi Gur - baali, na zidi ya Wameuni.
And the Lord strengthened him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that lived on the rock, and against the Minaeans.
8 Waamoni wakalipa kodi kwa Uzia, na umaarufu wake ukaenea, hata kufika maingilio ya Misiri, kwa sababu alikuwa ameanza kuwa maarufu.
And the Minaeans gave gifts to Ozias; and his fame spread as far as the entering in of Egypt, for he strengthened [himself] exceedingly.
9 Zaidi ya hayo, Uzia akajenga minara katika Yerusalemu katika kona ya Lango, kwenye Lango la Bonde, na pa kwenye kona ya ukuta, na akavizungushia ngome.
And Ozias built towers in Jerusalem, both at the gate of the corners, and at the valley gate, and at the corners and he fortified them.
10 Akajenga minara ya ulinzi katika nyika na akachimba mabwawa, kwa maana alikuwa na ng'ombe wengi, katika visiwa vya chini na katika nchi tambarare. Alikuwa na wakulima na wapandaji wa zabibu katika mwinuko wa nchi na katika mashamba yenye rutuba, kwa maana alipenda kulima.
And he built towers in the wilderness, and dug many wells, for he had many cattle in the low country and in the plain; and vinedressers in the mountain country and in Carmel: for he was a husbandman.
11 Zaidi ya hayo, Uzia alikuwa na jeshi la wanaume wa kupigana vita ambao walienda vitani katika makundi ambayo idadi yake ilikuwa imehesabiwa na Yeieli, mwandishi. na Maaseya, afisa, chini ya mamlaka ya Hanania, mmoja wa maamri jeshi wa mfalme.
And Ozias had a host of warriors, and that went out orderly to war, and returned orderly in number; and their number was [made] by the hand of Jeiel the scribe, and Maasias the judge, by the hand of Ananias the king's deputy.
12 Jumla ya wakuu wa nyumba za mababu, watu wa kupigana vita, walikuwa 2, 600.
The whole number of the chiefs of families of the mighty men of war [was] two thousand six hundred;
13 Chini ya mkono wao kulikuwa na jeshi la watu 307, 500 ambao walifanya vita kwa nguvu ili kumsaidia mfalme idi ya maadui.
and with them was a warrior force, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred: these waged war mightily to help the king against [his] enemies.
14 Uzia akaandaa kwa ajili yao—kwa ajili ya jeshi lote — ngao, mikuki, chapeo, deraya za majini, nyuta, na mawe ya kurusha.
And Ozias prepared for them, [even] for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and breastplates, and bows, and slings for stones.
15 Katka Yerusalemu alijenga mitambo, iliyobuniwa na watu wenye ujuzi, ili iwe juu ya minara na juu ya buruji, kwa ajili ya kurushia mishale na mawe makaubwa. Umaarufu wake ukaenea hadi nchi za mbali, kwa maana alisaidiwa sana hadi alipokuwa na ngavu sana.
And he made in Jerusalem machines invented by a wise contriver, to be upon the towers and upon the corners, to cast darts and great stones: and [the fame] of their preparation was heard at a distance; for he was wonderfully helped, till he was strong.
16 Lakini Uzia alipokuwa amekuwa na nguvu nyingi, moyo wake ulijiinua akatenda kwa uovu; akafanya makosa zidi ya Yahwe, Mungu wake, kwa maana alienda kwenye nyumba ya Yahwe kwa ajili ya kufukiza uvumba juu ya madhabahu ya kufukizia.
And when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction; and he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to turn incense on the altar of incense.
17 Azaria, kuhani, akamfuata, na pamoja naye makuhanai themanini wa Yahwe, ambao walikuwa watu wenye ujasiri.
And there went in after him Azarias the priest, and with him eighty priests of the Lord, mighty men.
18 Walimzuia Uzia, mfalme, na wakasema kwake, “Siyo jukumu lako, Uzia, kumtolea Yahwe uvumba, bali ni kazi ya makuhani, wana wa Haruni, amabao wametengwa kwa ajili ya kutoa sadaka za uvumba. Toka nje ya sehemu takatifu, kwa maana huna uaminifu na hautaheshimiwa na Yahwe Mungu.”
And they withstood Ozias the king, and said to him, [It is] not for you, Ozias, to burn incense to the Lord, but only for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to sacrifice: go forth of the sanctuary, for you have departed from the Lord; and this shall not be for glory to you from the Lord god.
19 Kisha Uzia akakasirika. Alikuwa ameshikilia chetezo mkononi kwa ajili ya kufukiza uvumba. Wakati alipowaghadhabikia makuhani, ukoma ukatokea juu ya uso wake mbele ya makuhani katika nyumba ya Yahwe, pembeni mwa madhabahu ya uvumba.
And Ozias was angry, and in his hand [was] the censer to burn incense in the temple: and when he was angry with the priests, then the leprosy rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, over the altar of incense.
20 Azaria kuhani mkuu na makuhani wote wakamwanagalia, na, tazama, alikuwa amepatwa ukoma juu ya uso wake. Walimwondoa pale haraka. Kwa hakika, aliharakisha kwenda nje, kwa maana Yahwe alikuwa amempiga.
And Azarias the chief priest, and the [other] priests, turned [to look] at him, and, behold, he [was] leprous in his forehead; and they got him hastily out thence, for he also hasted to go out, because the Lord had rebuked him.
21 Uzia, mfalme, alikuwa mwenye ukoma hadi siku ya kufa kwake na aliishi katika nyumba ya kutengwa tangu alipokuwa mwenye ukoma, kwa maan alitengwa na nyumba ya Yahwe. Yothamu, mwanaye, alikuwa mkuu wa anyumba ya mfalme na aliwatawala watu wa nchi.
And Ozias the king was a leper to the day of his death, and he lived [as] a leper in a separate house; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Joathan his son [was set] over his kingdom, judging the people of the land.
22 Mambo mengine kuhusu Uzia, mwanzo na mwisho, yako katika kile ambacho Isaya, mwana wa Amozi, nabii, aliandika.
And the rest of the acts of Ozias, the first and the last, [are] written by Jessias the prophet.
23 Kwa hiyo Uzia akalala pamoja na babu zake; walimzka pamoja na babu zake katika uwanja wa maziko wa Mfalme, kwa maana walisema, “Ni mwenye ukoma”. Yothamu, mwanaye, akawa mfalme katika nafasi yake.
And Ozias slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial [place] of the kings, for they said, He is a leper; and Joatham his son reigned in his stead.
