1 Katika mwaka wa sa saba, Yehoyada alionesha nguvu zake na akaingia katika agano na maakida wa mamia, Azaria mwana wa Yerohamu, Ishmaeli mwana wa Yehohanani, Azaria mwana wa Obedi, Maaseya mwana wa Adaya, na Elishafati mwana wa Zikri.

And in the year seventh he strengthened himself Jehoiada and he took [the] commanders of the hundreds to Azariah [the] son of Jeroham and to Ishmael [the] son of Jehohanan and to Azariah [the] son of Obed and with Maaseiah [the] son of Adaiah and with Elishaphat [the] son of Zikri with himself in covenant.

2 Wakaenda katika Yuda na kuwakusanya Walawi kutoka miji yote ya Yuda, vile vile na wakuu wa nyumba za mababu wa Israeli, na wakaja hadi Yerusalemu.

And they went around in Judah and they gathered the Levites from all [the] cities of Judah and [the] heads of the fathers of Israel and they came to Jerusalem.

3 Kusanyiko lote wakafanya aganao na mfalme katika nyumba ya Mungu. Yehoyada akawaambia, “Ona, mwana wa mfalme atatawala, kama Yahwe alivyosema kuhusu uzao wa Daudi.

And it made all the assembly a covenant in [the] house of God with the king and he said to them here! [the] son of the king he will reign just as he spoke Yahweh on [the] sons of David.

4 Hivi ndivyo mtakavyo fanya: theluthi yenu makuhani na Walawi ambao huja kuhudumu siku ya Sabato, mtakuwa walinzi katika milango.

This [is] the thing which you will do the third [part] of you [who] come of the sabbath to the priests and to the Levites [will become] [the] gatekeepers of the thresholds.

5 Theluthi nyingine mtakuwa katika nyumba ya mfalme, na theluthi nyingine mtakuwa katika Msingi wa Lango. Watu wote watakuwa katika uwanja wa nyumba ya Yahwe.

And the third [part] [will be] at [the] house of the king and the third [part] [will be] at [the] gate of the foundation and all the people [will be] in [the] courts of [the] house of Yahweh.

6 Msimruhusu yeyote kuingia kwenye nyumba ya Yahwe, isipokuwa makuhani na Walawi wanaoatumika. Wao wanaweza kuingia kwa sababu inawahusu.

And may not anyone go [the] house of Yahweh that except the priests and those [who] are serving of the Levites they they will go for [are] holiness they and all the people they will keep [the] duty of Yahweh.

7 Lakini watu wengine wote lazima mtii amri ya Yahwe. Walawi lazima wamzunguke mfalme pande zote, kila mtu na silaha zake mkononi mwake. Yeyote atakayeingia katika nyumba, atauawa. Kaeni na mfalme aingiapo ndani na atokapo nje.”

And they will surround the Levites the king all around each man and weapons his in hand his and the [one who] comes into the house he will be put to death and be with the king when comes he and when goes out he.

8 Kwa hiyo Walawi na Yuda wote walitumika kwa kila njia kama katika namna ambayo Yehoyada kuhani aliwaamuru. Kila mmoja alichukua watu wake, wale waliotakiwa kuja ndani kuhudumu katika Sabato, na wale watakaoondoka siku ya Sabato, kwa maana

And they did the Levites and all Judah according to all that he had commanded Jehoiada the priest and they took each men his [who] were coming of the sabbath with [who] were going out of the sabbath for not he dismissed Jehoiada the priest the divisions.

9 Yehoyada, kuhani, hakuwa amezuilia mojawapo ya zamu zao. Kisha Yeliyadaya, kuhani, akaleta kwa maakida mikuki na ngao ndogo na kubwa zilizokuwa za mfalme Daudi ambazo zilikuwa katika nyumba ya Mungu.

And he gave Jehoiada the priest to [the] commanders of the hundreds the spears and the shields and the shields which [had belonged] to the king David which [were] [the] house of God.

10 Yehoyada akawaleta wanajeshi wote, kila mtu na mkuki wake katika mkono wake, upande wa kulia wa hekalu hadi upande wa kushoto wa hekalu, pembeni mwa madhabahu na hekalu, wakimzunguka mfalme.

And he stationed all the people and each - weapon his [was] in hand his from [the] side of the house south to [the] side of the house north to the altar and to the house at the king all around.

11 Kisha wakamleta nje mwana wa mfalme, wakaiweka taji juu yake, na kumpa agano la sheria. Kisha wakamfanya mfalme, na Yehoyda na wanaye wakampaka mafuta. Kisha wakasema, “Aishi maisha marefu mfalme.”

And they brought out [the] son of the king and they put on him the crown and the testimony and they made king him and they anointed him Jehoiada and sons his and they said may he live the king.

12 Athalia aliposikia kele za watu wakikimbia na kumsifu mfalme, akatoka ili awaone watu katika nyumba ya Yahwe.

And she heard Athaliah [the] sound of the people who were running and who were praising the king and she came to the people [the] house of Yahweh.

13 na akaangalia, na, tazama, mfamle alikuwa amesimama karibu na nguzo yake katika lango la, kuingilia na maakida na wapuliza tarumbeta walikuwa karibu na mfame. Watu wote wa nchi walikuwa wakifurahia na kupuliza tarumbeta na waimbaji walikuwa wakipiga vyombo vya muziki na kuongoza nyimbo za kusifu. Kisha Athalia akayararua mavazi yake na kupiga kelele. “Fitina! Fitina!”

And she saw and there! the king [was] standing at pillar his at the entrance and the officials and the trumpets [were] with the king and all [the] people of the land [was] joyful and [was] giving a blast on trumpets and the singers with [the] instruments of song [were] leading to praise and she tore Athaliah clothes her and she said treason treason.

14 Kisha Yehoyada, kuhani, akawaleta nje maakida wa mamia waliokuwa juu ya jeshi na kusema, “Mleteni nje kati ya safu, yeyote atakayemfuata, auwawe kwa upanga.” kwa maana kuhani alikwishasema, “Msimuue katika nyumba ya Yahwe.”

And he sent out Jehoiada the priest [the] commanders of the hundreds - [the] officers of the army and he said to them bring out her to from between the ranks and the [one who] goes after her he will be put to death with the sword for he had said the priest not you must put to death her [the] house of Yahweh.

15 Kwa hiyo wakafanya njia kw ajili yake, na akaenda kwenye nyumba ya mfalme kupita njia ya Lango la Farasi, na huko wakamuuwa.

And they put to her hands and she went to [the] entrance of [the] gate of the horses [the] house of the king and they put to death her there.

16 kisha Yehoyada alifanya agano kati yake mwenyewe, watu wote, na mfalme, kwamba watakuwa watu wa Yahwe.

And he made Jehoiada a covenant between himself and between all the people and between the king to become a people of Yahweh.

17 Kwa hiyo watu wote wakaenda kwenye nyumba ya Baali na kuiangusha chini. wakazivunja vipande vipande madhabahu za Baali na sanamu zake, na wakamuua Matani, kuhani wa Baali, mbele ya madhabahu hizo.

And they went all the people [the] house of Baal and they pulled down it and altars its and images its they broke and Mattan [the] priest of Baal they killed before the altars.

18 Yehoyada akateua wakuu kwa ajili ya nyumba ya Yahwe chini ya mkono wa makuhani, ambao walikuwa Walawi, ambao Daudi alikuwa amewapanga kwenye nyumba ya Yahwe, ili wamtolee Yahwe sadaka za kuteketezwa, kama ilivyoandikwa katika sheria ya Musa, pamoja na kushangilia na kuimba, kama alivyotoa maelekezo Daudi.

And he put Jehoiada [the] oversight of [the] house of Yahweh in [the] hand of the priests the Levites whom he had assigned David over [the] house of Yahweh to offer up [the] burnt offerings of Yahweh according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses with joy and with song on [the] hands of David.

19 Yehoyada akaweka walinzi katika malango ya nyumba ya Yahwe, ili kwamba kwa namna yoyote ile asiingie mtu asiyesafi.

And he stationed the gatekeepers at [the] gates of [the] house of Yahweh and not he came a [person] unclean to any matter.

20 Yehoyada akachukua pamoja naye maakida wa mamia, watu wakubwa, watawala wa watu, na watu wote wa nchi. Akamleta chini mfalme kutoka kwenye nyumba ya Yahwe; watu wakaja kwenye nyumba ya mfalme kupitia Lango la juu na kumkalisha mfalme juu ya kiti cha enzi cha ufalme. (Baadhi ya maandiko ya ya kisasa yanasema, “wakamshusha chini mfalme”)

And he took [the] commanders of the hundreds and the nobles and the rulers over the people and - all [the] people of the land and he brought down the king from [the] house of Yahweh and they came in [the] middle of [the] gate upper [the] house of the king and they made sit the king on [the] throne of royalty.

21 Kwa hiyo watu wote wa nchi wakafurahia, na mji wote ulikuwa kimya. Kuhusu Asa walikuwa wamemuua kwa upanga.

And they rejoiced all [the] people of the land and the city it was at peace and Athaliah they had put to death with the sword.
