1 Wathesalonike 5
1 Sasa, kwa habari ya muda na nyakati, ndugu, hamna haja kwamba kitu chochote kiandikwe kwenu.
However, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you:
2 Kwa kuwa ninyi wenyewe mwajua kwa usahihi ya kuwa siku ya Bwana inakuja kama mwizi ajapo usiku.
for yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.
3 Pale wasemapo kuna “Amani na usalama”, ndipo uharibifu huwajia ghafla. Ni kama utungu umjiavyo mama mwenye mimba. Hawataepuka kwa njia yeyote.
When they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 Lakini ninyi, ndugu hampo kwenye giza hata ile siku iwajie kama mwizi.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should come upon you like a thief.
5 Kwa maana ninyi nyote ni wana wa nuru na wana wa mchana. Sisi siyo wana wa usiku au wa gizani.
You are all sons of light, and sons of day: we are not sons of night, nor of darkness.
6 Hivyo basi, tusilale kama wengine walalavyo. Bali tukeshe na kuwa makini.
Therefore, let us not sleep, even as others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 Kwa kuwa wanaolala hulala usiku na wanao lewa hulewa usiku.
For they who sleep, sleep in the night; and they who get drunk, get drunk in the night.
8 Kwa kuwa sisi ni wana wa mchana, tuwe makini. Tuvae ngao ya imani na upendo, na, kofia ya chuma, ambayo ni uhakika wa wokovu wa wakati ujao.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Kwa kuwa Mungu hakutuchagua mwanzo kwa ajili ya gadhabu, bali kwa kupata wokovu kwa njia ya Bwana Yesu Kristo.
For God has appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation, through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we may live together, with him.
10 Yeye ndiye aliyetufia ili kwamba, tukiwa macho au tumelala, tutaishi pamoja naye.
Wherefore, comfort one another, and edify each other, even as also you do.
11 Kwa hiyo, farijianeni na kujengana ninyi kwa ninyi, kama ambavyo tayari mnafanya.
Wherefore, comfort one another, and edify each other, even as also you do.
12 Ndugu, twawaomba muwatambue wale wanaotumika miongoni mwenu na wale walio juu yenu katika Bwana na wale wanao washauri.
Now, we beseech you, brethren, to acknowledge them who labor among you, and who preside over you in the Lord, and instruct you;
13 Tunawaomba pia muwatambue na kuwapa heshima katika upendo kwa sababu ya kazi yao. Muwe na amani miongoni mwenu ninyi wenyewe.
and to esteem them very highly in love for their works' sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Twawasihi, ndugu: muwaonye wasio kwenda kwa utaratibu, watieni moyo walio kata tamaa, Wasaidieni walio wanyonge, na muwe wavumilivu kwa wote.
Moreover, we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be of a long-suffering disposition toward all.
15 Angalieni asiwepo mtu yeyote anayelipa baya kwa baya kwa mtu yeyote. Badala yake, fanyeni yaliyo mema kwa kila mmoja wenu na kwa watu wote.
Take care that no one return evil for evil to any one, but always pursue what is good, both toward one another and toward all.
16 Furahini siku zote.
Rejoice always.
17 Ombeni bila kukoma.
Pray without ceasing.
18 Mshukuruni Mungu kwa kila jambo, kwa sababu hayo ndiyo mapenzi ya Mungu kwenu katika Yesu Kristo.
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God, by Christ Jesus, concerning you.
19 Msimzimishe Roho.
Quench not the Spirit.
20 Msiudharau unabii.
Despise not prophesying.
21 Yajaribuni mambo yote. Mlishike lililo jema.
Prove all things. Hold fast that which is good.
22 Epukeni kila mwonekano wa uovu.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 Mungu wa amani awakamilishe katika utakatifu. Roho, nafsi na mwili vitunzwe pasipo mawaa katika kuja kwake Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole person, the spirit, and the soul, and the body, be preserved unblamable, till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Yeye aliyewaita ni mwaminifu, naye ndiye mwenye kutenda.
Faithful is he who has called you; who also will do it.
25 Ndugu, tuombeeni pia.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Wasalimuni ndugu wote kwa busu takatifu.
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Nawasihi katika Bwana kwamba barua hii isomwe kwa ndugu wote.
I solemnly charge you by the Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.
28 Neema ya Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo iwe pamoja nanyi.
The favor of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
