1 Malkia wa Sheba aliposikia uvumi wa Sulemani kuhusu jina la BWANA, alikuja kumjaribu kwa maswali magumu.
And, when, the queen of Sheba, heard the report of Solomon, as pertaining to the Name of Yahweh, she came to prove him, with abstruse questions.
2 Alikuja Yerusalemu na msafara mrefu, pamoja na ngamia waliokuwa wamebeba mizigo ya manukato, dhahabu nyingi, na mawe mengi ya thamani, akamwambia Sulemani yote yaliyokuwa moyoni mwake.
Yea she came to Jerusalem with a very heavily-laden train, of camels bearing spices, and gold in great abundance, and precious stones, —and, when she was come to Solomon, she spake unto him all that was near her heart;
3 Sulemani akajibu maswali yake yote. Hapakuwepo na swali ambalo aliuliza na mfalme akashindwa kujibu.
and Solomon answered her all her questions, —there was nothing hidden from the king, which he told her not.
4 Malkia wa Sheba alipoona hekima yote ya Sulemani, na ikulu aliyokuwa amejenga,
And, when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, —and the house which he had built;
5 chakula cha mezani kwake, kuketi kwa watumishi wake, kazi ya watumishi wake na kuvaa kwao, pia wanyweshaji wake, na jinsi alivyotoa sadaka za kuteketezwa katika nyumba ya BWANA, roho yake ilizimia.
and the food of his table, and the seated assembly of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers with their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he ascended unto the house of Yahweh, there was in her no more spirit.
6 Akamwambia mfalme, “Ni kweli, ile taarifa ambayo nimeisikia nchini kwangu juu ya maneno yako na hekima yako.
And she said unto the king, True, was the word which I heard in mine own land, —concerning thine affairs, and concerning thy wisdom.
7 Sikuamini kile nilichosikia hadi nilipofika hapa, na sasa macho yangu yamejionea. Hata nusu ya hekima na utajiri wako! Umezidi uvumi ambao nilikuwa nimesikia.
Howbeit I believed not the words, until that I had come and mine own eyes had seen, and lo! there had not been told me, the half, —thou dost exceed, in wisdom and prosperity, even the report which I heard!
8 Tazama jinsi walivyobarikiwa wake zako, na jinsi walivyobarikwa watumishi wako ambao daima husimama mbele yako, kwa sababu wanasikia hekima zako.
How happy, are thy wives, how happy, are these thy servants, —who do stand before thee continually, who hear thy wisdom!
9 BWANA, Mungu wako asifiwe, ambaye amependezwa na wewe, ambaye alikuweka kwenye kiti cha enzi cha Israeli. Kwa sababu BWANA aliipenda Israeli milele, na sasa amekufanya wewe kuwa mfalme, ili kwamba utoe hukumu ya kweli na ya haki.
Yahweh thy God be blessed, who delighted in thee, to set thee upon the throne of Israel, —because Yahweh loveth Israel unto times age-abiding, therefore hath he appointed thee to be king, to execute justice and righteousness.
10 Basi Malikia alimpatia mfalme zaidi ya kilo 4500 za dhahabu na kiasi kikubwa cha mawe ya thamani. Hapakuwahi kutokea kiasi kikubwa cha viungo kama hiki ambacho Malkia wa Sheba alitoa kwa mfalme Sulemani kuwahi kutolewa tena.
And she gave unto the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones, —there came in no more, such spice for abundance, as that which the queen of Sheba gave unto King Solomon.
11 Ile merikebu ya Hiramu, ambayo ilileta dhahabu kutoka Ofri, pia ilileta Kutoka Ofri kiasi kikubwa cha miti ya msandali na vito vya thamani.
Moreover also, the fleet of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in, from Ophir sandal-wood in great abundance, and precious stones.
12 Mfalme alitengeneza nguzo za hekalu kwa ajili ya hekalu la BWANA na kwa nyumba ya mfalme, na vinubi na vinanda kwa hao waimbaji. haijatokea kiasi cha miti ya misandali kama hicho ambacho kimewahi kutokea hadi leo.
So the king made of the sandal-wood a footpath to the house of Yahweh, and to the house of the king, lyres also and harps, for the singers, —there hath neither come in such sandal-wood, nor been seen, unto this day.
13 Mfame Sulemani alimpatia Malkia wa Sheba kila kitu ambacho alihitaji, na kila kitu alichoomba, na zaidi ya yote Sulemani alimpatia kwa ukarimu wake vitu vya kifalme. Kisha akarudi kwake na watumishi wake.
And, when, King Solomon, had given unto the queen of Sheba, all her desire, which she asked, besides that which he gave her as the bounty of King Solomon, she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
14 Kiasi cha dhahabu ambazo zililetwa kwa Sulemani kwa mwaka mmoja kilikuwa takribani kilo elfu ishirini na tatu za dhahabu,
And it came to pass that, the weight of the gold which came in unto Solomon in one year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold;
15 zaidi ya dhahabu ambazo wafanya biashara na wachuuzi walileta. Wafame wote wa Uarabuni na maliwali wa nchi pia walileta dhahabu na fedha kwa Sulemani.
besides the tribute of the subjugated, and of the travelling merchants, —and of all the kings of Arabia, and the pashas of the land.
16 Mfalme Sulemani alitengeneza ngao mia mbili za dhahabu iliyofuliwa, shekeli mia sita za dhahabu zilichukuliwa pamoja na ngao.
And King Solomon made two hundred shields, of beaten gold, six hundred [shekels] of gold, laid he upon one shield;
17 Pia alitengeneza ngao mia tatu za dhahabu iliyofuliwa. Mane tatu za dhahabu ziliambatana pamoja na ngao moja moja; mfalme aliviweka katika ikulu ya mwitu ya Lebanoni.
and three hundred bucklers, of beaten gold, one hundred and fifty shekels of gold, laid he upon one buckler, —and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18 Kisha mfalme akafanya kiti kikubwa cha enzi kwa pembe na akakisakafia kwa dhahabu laini.
And the king made a great throne of ivory, —and overlaid it with gold from Uphaz.
19 Hicho kiti kilikuwa na ngazi sita, na kitako chake kilikuwa cha mviringo. Na kilikuwa kimezungushiwa kwa mikono pande zake zote. Na simba wawili walisimama pembeni mwa ile mikono.
There were, six steps, to the throne, and there was, a circular top, to the throne, behind it, and there were supports on this side and on that, unto the place of the seat, —with two lions standing beside the supports;
20 Kulikuwa na simba kumi na wawili waliokuwa wamesimama kwenye ile ngazi. Moja katika kila upande wa ngazi hizo. Hapakuwepo na kiti kama hicho katika ufalme mwingine.
and, twelve lions, were standing there, upon the six steps, on this side and on that, —there had never been made the like, for any of the kingdoms.
21 Vikombe vyote vya kunywea vya mfalme Sulemani vilikuwa vya dhahabu. Na vikombe vyote vya kunywea vya ikulu ya mwitu wa Lebanoni vilikuwa vya dhahabu safi. Hapakuwepo na kikombe cha fedha, kwa sababu fedha haikuwa na thamani katika siku za Sulemani.
And, all the drinking vessels of King Solomon, were of gold, and, all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon, were of pure gold, —none was of silver, it was accounted in the days of Solomon, as nothing.
22 Mfalme alikuwa na merikebu za kusafiri pamoja na merikebu za Hiramu. Mara moja kila mwaka merikebu zilileta dhahabu, fedha, na pembe za ndovu, pamoja na nyani na tumbili.
For, a fleet of Tarshish, had the king, at sea, with the fleet of Hiram, —once in three years, came in the fleet of Tarshish, bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes, and peacocks.
23 Kwa hiyo mfalme Sulemani aliwazidi wafalme wote ulimwenguni katika utajiri n a hekiima.
So King Solomon became greater than any of the kings of the earth, —for riches and for wisdom.
24 Dunia yote ilitafuta uwepo wa Sulemani ili kusikia hekima yake, ambayo Mungu alikuwa ameweka katika moyo wake.
And, all the earth, did seek the face of Solomon, —to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 Na wote waliomtembelea walilipa Kodi, vyombo vya fedha na vya dhahabu, na nguo na manukato na silaha na farasi na nyumbu, mwaka baada ya mwaka.
And, they, did bring every man his present—vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses and mules, —a rate of a year in a year.
26 Sulemani alikusanya pamoja magari n a wapanda farasi. Alikuwa na magari 1, 400 na wapanda farasi elfu kumi na mbili ambao alikuwa amewaweka kwenye miji ya magari pamoja naye Yerusalemu.
And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen, and so it was that he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, —for whom he found place in the chariot cities, and near the king, in Jerusalem.
27 Mfalme alikuwa na fedha kule Yerusalemu, pamoja na mawe ardhini. Alitengeneza miti ya mierezi kuwa mingi kama mikuyu iliyo katika nyanda za chini.
And the king caused silver in Jerusalem to be as stones, —cedars also, caused he to be as the sycamores that are in the lowlands, for abundance.
28 Sulemani alimiliiki farasi waliokuwa wamenunuliwa kutoka Misri na Kilikia. Wachuuzi wa mfalme waliwanunua kwa makundi, kila kundi kwa bei yake.
And the horses that Solomon had were, an export, out of Egypt, —and, a company of the merchants of the king, used to fetch, a drove, at a price,
29 Magari yalinunuliwa kutoka Misri kwa shekeli mia sita za fedha kila moja, na farasi kwa shekeli 150 kila moja. Vitu vingi katika hivi baadaye viliuzwa kwa wafalme wote wa Wahiti na Aramu.
And a chariot came up and forth out of Egypt, for six hundred shekels of silver and a horse for a hundred and fifty, —and, so, for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means, came they forth.
