1 Wana wa Rubeni mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli - sasa Rubeni alikuwa mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli, lakini haki yake ya mzaliwa wa kwanza ilipewa kwa wana wa Yusufu mwana wa Israeli kwa sababu Rubeni alinajisi kochi la baba yake. Hivyo hajanakiliwa kama mwana wa kwanza.
As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel — for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father hath his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright,
2 Yuda alikuwa mwenye nguvu kuliko kaka zake, na kiongozi ata toka kwake. Lakini haki ya mzaliwa wa kwanza ilikuwa ya Yusufu -
for Judah hath been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph.
3 wana wa Rubeni, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli alikuwa Hanoki, Palu, Hezroni, na Karmi.
Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 Uzao wa Yoeli ulikuwa huu: Mwana wa Yoeli alikuwa Shemaia. Mwana wa Shemaia alikuwa Gogi. Mwana wa Gogi alikuwa Shimei.
Sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 Mwana wa Shimei alikuwa Mika. Mwana wa Mika alikuwa Reaia. Mwana wa Reaia alikuwa Baali.
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 Mwana wa Baali alikuwa Bera, ambaye Tiligathi Pileseri alimpeleka matekani kule Assiria. Bera alikuwa kiongozi katika kabila la Rubeni.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur removed; he [is] prince of the Reubenite.
7 Ndugu wa Bera kwa makabila yao ni hawa wafuatao, wameorodheshwa katika nakala za uzao wao: Yeieli wa kwanza, Zekaria, na
And his brethren, by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, [are] heads: Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8 Bela mwana wa Azazi mwana wa Shema mwana wa Yoeli. Waliishi Aroeri, kwa umbali wa Nebo na Baali Meoni,
and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel — he is dwelling in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-Meon;
9 na mwanzo wa mashariki mwa jangwa lenye umbali wa hadi Mto Efarati. Hii ni kwa sababu walikuwa na mifugo mingi katika nchi ya Gileadi.
and at the east he dwelt even unto the entering in of the wilderness, even from the river Phrat, for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 Katika siku za Sauli, kabila la Rubeni lilishambulia Wahagiri na kuwa shinda. Wakaishi ndani ya hema za Wahagiri katika nchi yote mashariki mwa Gileadi.
And in the days of Saul they have made war with the Hagarites, who fall by their hand, and they dwell in their tents over all the face of the east of Gilead.
11 Kabila la Gadi liliishi karibu nao, katika nchi ya Bashani umbali wa Saleka.
And the sons of Gad, over-against them have dwelt in the land of Bashan unto Salcah,
12 Viongozi wao walikuwa Yoeli, aliyekuwa kichwa wa ukoo, na Shafamu alikuwa kichwa wa ukoo mwingine, na Yanai na Shafati walikuwa wa Bashani.
Joel the head, and Shapham the second, and Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan;
13 Ndugu zao, kwa familia za baba yao, walikuwa Mikaeli, Meshulamu, Sheba, Yorai, Yakani, na Eberi - jumla saba wote.
and their brethren of the house of their fathers [are] Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14 Hawa watu walio tajwa hapo juu ni uzao wa Abihaili, na Abihaili alikuwa mwana wa Huri. Huri alikuwa mwana w a Yaroa. Yaroa alikuwa mwana wa Gileadi. Gileadi alikuwa mwana wa Mikaeli. Mikaeli alikuwa mwana wa Yeshishai. Yeshishai alikuwa mwana wa Yado. Yado alikuwa mwana wa Buzi.
These [are] sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz;
15 Ahi mwana wa Abidieli mwana wa Guni, alikuwa kichwa cha familia ya baba yake.
Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, [is] head of the house of their fathers;
16 Waliishi Gileadi, Bashani, katika miji, na katika nchi zote za malisho ya Sharoni kwa umbali wa mipaka yake.
and they dwell in Gilead in Bashan, and in her small towns, and in all suburbs of Sharon, upon their outskirts;
17 Hawa wote waliorodheshwa katika nakaka za uzao katika siku za Yothamu mfalme wa Yuda na Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli.
all of them reckoned themselves by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Warubeni, Wagadi, na nusu ya kabila la Manase walikuwa na wana jeshi elfu arobaini na nne walio fuzu kwa vita, walio beba ngao na upanga, na pinde na mishale.
Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, [are] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host.
19 Waliwashambulia Wahagri, Yeturi, Nafishi, na Nodabu.
And they make war with the Hagarites, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab,
20 Walipokea msaada wa Kimungu dhidi yao. Katika hili Wahagri na wote walio kuwa nao walishindwa. Hii ni kwa sababu Waisraeli walipaza sauti katika vita, na yeye akawajibu, kwa sababu waliweka tumaini lao kwake.
and they are helped against them, and the Hagarites are given into their hand, and all who [are] with them, for they cried to God in battle, and He was entreated of them, because they trusted in Him.
21 Walikamata wanya wao, pamoja na ngamia elfu hamsini, kondoo 250, 000, punda elfu mbili, na wanaume 100, 000.
And they take captive their cattle, of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings a hundred thousand;
22 Kwa sababu Mungu aliwapigania, waliua maadui wengi. Waliishi katika nchi yao mpaka mateka.
for many have fallen pierced, for of God [is] the battle; and they dwell in their stead till the removal.
23 Baadhi ya watu wa kabila la Manase waliishi katika nchi ya Bashani kwa umbali wa Hermoni na Seniri (hiyo ni, Mlima Hermoni).
And the sons of the half of the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-Hermon, and Senir, and mount Hermon, they have multiplied.
24 Hawa walikuwa viongozi wa familia zao: Eferi, Ishi, Elieli, Azrieli, Yeremia, Hodavia, na Yahdieli. Walikuwa wenye nguvu na wanaume wa jasiri, wanaume maharufu, viongozi wa familia zao.
And these [are] heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, men mighty in valour, men of name, heads to the house of their fathers.
25 Lakini walikuwa sio wa aminifu kwa Mungu wa babu zao. Badala yake, waliabudu miungu ya watu waio nchi, ambao Mungu aliwaangamiza mbele yao.
And they trespass against the God of their fathers, and go a-whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land whom God destroyed from their presence;
26 Mungu wa Israeli alimchochea Puli mfalme wa Assiria ( ambaye pia uitwa Tiligathi Pileseri, mfalme wa Assiria). Aliwa peleka matekani Warubeni, Wagadi, na nusu ya kabila la Manase. Aliwaleta kwa Hala, Habori, Hara, na kwenye mto wa Gozani, ambapo wapo adi leo.
and stir up doth the God of Israel the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur, and he removeth them — even the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh — and bringeth them in to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan unto this day.
