1 Inakupasa kufundisha itikadi sahihi.
But you, speak what fits with faithful instruction.
2 Wafundishe wazee kuwa na kiasi, wastahivu, wenye busara na wanyofu katika imani, upendo na saburi.
Teach older men to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in perseverance.
3 Vivyo hivyo, wafundishe wanawake wazee kuwa na mwenendo wa utakatifu, wala wasiwe wasingiziaji au walevi, bali wafundishe yale yaliyo mema,
Teach older women likewise to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or being slaves to much wine, but to be teachers of what is good.
4 ili waweze kuwafundisha wanawake vijana kuwa na kiasi, wawapende waume zao na kuwapenda watoto wao,
In this way they may train the younger women to love their own husbands and children,
5 wawe waaminifu, watakatifu, wakitunza vyema nyumba zao, wema, watiifu kwa waume zao, ili mtu yeyote asije akalikufuru neno la Mungu.
to be sensible, pure, good housekeepers, and obedient to their own husbands. They should do these things so that God's word may not be insulted.
6 Vivyo hivyo, himiza vijana wawe na kiasi.
In the same way, encourage the younger men to use good sense.
7 Katika kila jambo uwe kielelezo kwa kutenda mema. Katika mafundisho yako uonyeshe uadilifu, utaratibu,
In all ways present yourself as an example of good works. In your teaching, show integrity, dignity,
8 na usemi sahihi usio na lawama, ili wanaokupinga watahayari, wakose neno lolote baya la kusema juu yetu.
and a correct message, so that anyone who opposes you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
9 Wafundishe watumwa kuwatii mabwana zao katika kila jambo, wakijitahidi kuwapendeza wala wasijibizane nao,
Teach slaves to obey their masters in everything, to please them and not argue with them,
10 wala wasiwaibie, bali waonyeshe kuwa wanaweza kuaminika kabisa, ili kwa kila namna wayafanye mafundisho ya Mungu Mwokozi wetu yawe ya kuvutia.
to not steal from them, but instead to demonstrate all good faith, so that in every way they may bring credit to the teaching about God our Savior.
11 Kwa maana neema ya Mungu ambayo inawaokoa wanadamu wote imefunuliwa.
For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all people.
12 Nayo yatufundisha kukataa ubaya na tamaa za kidunia, ili tupate kuishi maisha ya kiasi, ya haki na ya utaua katika ulimwengu huu wa sasa, (aiōn g165)
It trains us to reject godlessness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this age, (aiōn g165)
13 huku tukilitazamia tumaini lenye baraka na ufunuo wa utukufu wa Mungu wetu Mkuu, aliye Mwokozi wetu Yesu Kristo.
while we look forward to receiving our blessed hope, the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
14 Ndiye alijitoa nafsi yake kwa ajili yetu, ili atukomboe kutoka uovu wote na kujisafishia watu kuwa mali yake Mwenyewe, yaani, wale walio na juhudi katika kutenda mema.
Jesus gave himself for us in order to redeem us from all lawlessness and to make pure, for himself, a special people who are eager to do good works.
15 Basi wewe fundisha mambo haya. Onya na kukaripia kwa mamlaka yote. Mtu yeyote asikudharau.
Speak of these things, encourage people to do them, and give correction with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
