1 Bwana anatawala, mataifa na yatetemeke; anakalia kiti cha enzi katikati ya makerubi, dunia na itikisike.

Adonai reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

2 Bwana ni mkuu katika Sayuni; ametukuzwa juu ya mataifa yote.

Adonai is great in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. He is high above all the peoples.

3 Wanalisifu jina lako ambalo ni kuu na la kuogopwa: yeye ni mtakatifu!

Let them yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

4 Mfalme ni mwenye nguvu na hupenda haki, wewe umethibitisha adili; katika Yakobo umefanya yaliyo haki na sawa.

The King’s strength also 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·. You do establish equity. You execute mishpat ·justice· and righteousness in Jacob [Supplanter].

5 Mtukuzeni Bwana Mungu wetu, na mkaabudu katika mahali pa kuwekea miguu yake; yeye ni mtakatifu.

Exalt Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his footstool. He is Holy!

6 Mose na Aroni walikuwa miongoni mwa makuhani wake, Samweli alikuwa miongoni mwa walioliitia jina lake; walimwita Bwana, naye aliwajibu.

Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on Adonai, and he answered them.

7 Alizungumza nao kutoka nguzo ya wingu; walizishika sheria zake na amri alizowapa.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.

8 Ee Bwana, wetu, ndiwe uliyewajibu, kwa Israeli ulikuwa Mungu mwenye kusamehe, ingawa uliadhibu matendo yao mabaya.

You answered them, Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.

9 Mtukuzeni Bwana Mungu wetu, mwabuduni kwenye mlima wake mtakatifu, kwa maana Bwana Mungu wetu ni mtakatifu.

Exalt Adonai, our God. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his holy hill, for Adonai, our God, is holy!
