1 Bwana anatawala, nchi na ifurahi, visiwa vyote vishangilie.
The Lord reigneth: let the earth be glad; let the multitude of isles rejoice.
2 Mawingu na giza nene vinamzunguka, haki na hukumu ndio msingi wa kiti chake cha enzi.
Clouds and thick darkness are round about him: righteousness and justice are the support of his throne.
3 Moto hutangulia mbele zake na huteketeza adui zake pande zote.
A fire goeth before him, and burneth up round about his adversaries.
4 Umeme wake wa radi humulika dunia, nchi huona na kutetemeka.
His lightnings give light to the world: the earth seeth it, and trembleth.
5 Milima huyeyuka kama nta mbele za Bwana, mbele za Bwana wa dunia yote.
The mountains melt away like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.
6 Mbingu zinatangaza haki yake, na mataifa yote huona utukufu wake.
The heavens tell of his righteousness, and all the people his glory.
7 Wote waabuduo sanamu waaibishwa, wale wajisifiao sanamu: mwabuduni yeye, enyi miungu yote!
Made ashamed shall be all that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: unto him bow down all the gods.
8 Sayuni husikia na kushangilia, vijiji vya Yuda vinafurahi kwa sababu ya hukumu zako, Ee Bwana.
Zion heareth it, and rejoiceth; and glad are the daughters of Judah, because of thy decrees, O Lord.
9 Kwa kuwa wewe, Ee Bwana, ndiwe Uliye Juu Sana kuliko dunia yote; umetukuka sana juu ya miungu yote.
For thou, O Lord, art the most high above all the earth: thou art greatly exalted above all gods.
10 Wale wanaompenda Bwana na wauchukie uovu, kwa maana yeye hulinda maisha ya waaminifu wake na kuwaokoa kutoka mkononi mwa mwovu.
Ye that love the Lord, hate ye the evil: he preserveth the souls of his pious ones; out of the hand of the wicked he ever delivereth them.
11 Nuru huangaza wenye haki na furaha kwa watu wanyofu wa moyo.
Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Furahini katika Bwana, ninyi mlio wenye haki, lisifuni jina lake takatifu.
Rejoice, ye righteous, in the Lord, and give thanks to his holy memorial.
