Zaburi 82

1 Zaburi ya Asafu. Mungu anaongoza kusanyiko kuu, anatoa hukumu miongoni mwa “miungu”:

“A psalm of Asaph.” God standeth in God's assembly, He judgeth in the midst of the gods.

2 “Hata lini utaendelea kuwatetea wasio haki na kuonyesha upendeleo kwa waovu?

“How long will ye judge unjustly, And favor the cause of the wicked? (Pause)

3 Teteeni wanyonge na yatima, tunzeni haki za maskini na walioonewa.

Defend the poor and the fatherless; Do justice to the wretched and the needy!

4 Mwokoeni mnyonge na mhitaji, wakomboeni kutoka mkononi mwa mwovu.

Deliver the poor and the destitute; Save them from the hand of the wicked!

5 “Hawajui lolote, hawaelewi lolote. Wanatembea gizani; misingi yote ya dunia imetikisika.

They are without knowledge and without understanding; They walk in darkness: Therefore all the foundations of the land are shaken.

6 “Nilisema, ‘Ninyi ni “miungu”; ninyi nyote ni wana wa Aliye Juu Sana.’

I have said, Ye are gods, And all of you children of the Most High;

7 Lakini mtakufa kama wanadamu wa kawaida; mtaanguka kama mtawala mwingine yeyote.”

But ye shall die like men, And fall like the rest of the princes.”

8 Ee Mungu, inuka uihukumu nchi, kwa kuwa mataifa yote ni urithi wako.

Arise, O God! judge the earth! For all the nations are thy possession.
