1 Kwa mwimbishaji. Kwa ala za nyuzi za muziki. Zaburi ya Asafu. Wimbo. Katika Yuda, Mungu anajulikana, jina lake ni kuu katika Israeli.
To the Chief Musician. With Stringed Instruments. A Melody of Asaph, a Song. God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;
2 Hema lake liko Salemu, makao yake katika Sayuni.
Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.
3 Huko alivunja mishale imetametayo, ngao na panga, silaha za vita.
There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. (Selah)
4 Wewe unangʼaa kwa mwanga, mwenye fahari zaidi ya milima yenye utajiri wa wanyama pori.
Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 Mashujaa hulala wametekwa nyara, hulala usingizi wao wa mwisho; hakuna hata mmoja wa watu wa vita anayeweza kuinua mikono yake.
The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 Kwa kukemea kwako, Ee Mungu wa Yakobo, farasi na gari la vita vilikaa kimya.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.
7 Wewe peke yako ndiye wa kuogopwa. Ni nani awezaye kusimama mbele yako unapokasirika?
As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?
8 Kutoka mbinguni ulitamka hukumu, nayo nchi ikaogopa, ikawa kimya:
Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:
9 wakati wewe, Ee Mungu, ulipoinuka kuhukumu, kuwaokoa wote walioonewa katika nchi.
When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)
10 Hakika ghadhabu yako dhidi ya wanadamu inakuletea sifa, na masalia ya ghadhabu yako unajifunga mshipi.
For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.
11 Wekeni nadhiri kwa Bwana Mungu wenu na kuzitimiza; nchi zote za jirani na walete zawadi kwa Yule astahiliye kuogopwa.
Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God, —Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.
12 Huvunja roho za watawala; anaogopwa na wafalme wa dunia.
He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
