1 Kwa mwimbishaji. Zaburi ya Daudi. Ee Mungu, unisikie ninapoeleza lalamiko langu, uyahifadhi maisha yangu kutokana na vitisho vya adui.

Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.

2 Unifiche kutokana na shauri la siri la waovu, kutokana na zile kelele za kundi la watenda mabaya.

You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.

3 Wananoa ndimi zao kama panga na kuelekeza maneno yao kama mishale ya kufisha.

For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,

4 Hurusha mishale kutoka kwenye mavizio kwa mtu asiye na hatia, humrushia ghafula bila woga.

so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.

5 Kila mmoja humtia moyo mwenzake katika mipango mibaya; huzungumza juu ya kuficha mitego yao, nao husema, “Ni nani ataiona?”

They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”

6 Hufanya shauri baya la dhuluma na kusema, “Tumebuni mpango mkamilifu!” Hakika nia na moyo wa mwanadamu vina hila.

They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,

7 Bali Mungu atawapiga kwa mishale, nao ghafula wataangushwa.

and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,

8 Atageuza ndimi zao wenyewe dhidi yao na kuwaleta kwenye maangamizi; wote wawaonao watatikisa vichwa vyao kwa dharau.

and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;

9 Wanadamu wote wataogopa, watatangaza kazi za Mungu na kutafakari yale aliyoyatenda.

and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.

10 Wenye haki na wafurahi katika Bwana, na wakimbilie kwake; wanyofu wote wa moyo na wamsifu yeye!

The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
