1 Kwa mwimbishaji. Kwa ala za nyuzi za muziki. Mtindo wa sheminithi. Zaburi ya Daudi. Ee Bwana, usinikemee katika hasira yako, wala usiniadhibu katika ghadhabu yako.

To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments, upon Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Jehovah, rebuke me not in thine anger, and chasten me not in thy hot displeasure.

2 Unirehemu Bwana, kwa maana nimedhoofika; Ee Bwana, uniponye, kwa maana mifupa yangu ina maumivu makali.

Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am withered; Jehovah, heal me, for my bones tremble.

3 Nafsi yangu ina uchungu mwingi. Mpaka lini, Ee Bwana, mpaka lini?

And my soul trembleth exceedingly: and thou, Jehovah, till how long?

4 Geuka Ee Bwana, unikomboe, uniokoe kwa sababu ya fadhili zako.

Return, Jehovah, free my soul; save me for thy loving-kindness' sake.

5 Hakuna mtu anayekukumbuka akiwa amekufa. Ni nani awezaye kukusifu akiwa kuzimu? (Sheol h7585)

For in death there is no remembrance of thee; in Sheol who shall give thanks unto thee? (Sheol h7585)

6 Nimechakaa kwa kulia kwa huzuni; usiku kucha nafurikisha kitanda changu kwa machozi; nimelowesha viti vyangu vya fahari kwa machozi.

I am wearied with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I dissolve my couch with my tears.

7 Macho yangu yamedhoofika kwa kuhuzunika, yamedhoofika kwa sababu ya adui zangu wote.

Mine eye wasteth away through grief; it hath grown old because of all mine oppressors.

8 Kaeni mbali nami, ninyi nyote mtendao mabaya, kwa maana Bwana amesikia kulia kwangu.

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.

9 Bwana amesikia kilio changu kwa huruma, Bwana amekubali sala yangu.

Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah receiveth my prayer.

10 Adui zangu wote wataaibika na kufadhaika, watarudi nyuma kwa aibu ya ghafula.

All mine enemies shall be ashamed and tremble exceedingly; they will turn, they will be ashamed suddenly.
