1 Kwa mwimbishaji. Mtindo wa “Usiharibu!” Utenzi wa Daudi. Baada ya kumponyoka Sauli pangoni. Unihurumie, Ee Mungu, unihurumie, kwa maana nafsi yangu inakukimbilia. Chini ya uvuli wa mbawa zako nitakimbilia mpaka maafa yapite.
Be merciful to me, God, show favor to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.
2 Namlilia Mungu Aliye Juu Sana, Mungu atimizaye makusudi yake kwangu.
I cry out to El 'Elyon [God Most High], to God who accomplishes my requests for me.
3 Hutumana kutoka mbinguni na kuniokoa, akiwakemea wale wanaonifuatilia vikali; Mungu huutuma upendo wake na uaminifu wake.
He will send from heaven, and save me, he rebukes the one who is pursuing me. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·. God will send out his cheshed ·loving-kindness· and his truth.
4 Niko katikati ya simba, nimelala katikati ya wanyama wenye njaa kuu: watu ambao meno yao ni mikuki na mishale, ambao ndimi zao ni panga kali.
My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Ee Mungu, utukuzwe juu ya mbingu, utukufu wako na uenee duniani kote.
Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your kavod ·weighty glory· be above all the earth!
6 Waliitegea miguu yangu nyavu, nikainamishwa chini na dhiki. Wamechimba shimo katika njia yangu, lakini wametumbukia humo wao wenyewe.
They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They dig a pit before me. They fall into the middle of it themselves. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
7 Ee Mungu, moyo wangu ni thabiti; nitaimba na kusifu kwa moyo wangu wote.
My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing, yes, I will sing zahmar ·musical praise·.
8 Amka, nafsi yangu! Amka, kinubi na zeze! Nitayaamsha mapambazuko.
Wake up, my glory! Wake up, lute and harp! I will wake up the dawn.
9 Nitakusifu wewe, Ee Bwana, katikati ya mataifa; nitaimba habari zako, katikati ya jamaa za watu.
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, Lord, among the peoples. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to you among the nations.
10 Kwa maana upendo wako ni mkuu, waenea hadi mbinguni, uaminifu wako unazifikia anga.
For your great cheshed ·loving-kindness· reaches to the heavens, and your truth to the skies.
11 Ee Mungu, utukuzwe juu mbinguni, utukufu wako na uwe duniani pote.
Be exalted, God, above the heavens. Let your kavod ·weighty glory· be over all the earth.
