Zaburi 53

1 Kwa mwimbishaji. Mtindo wa mahalathi. Utenzi wa Daudi. Mpumbavu anasema moyoni mwake, “Hakuna Mungu.” Wameharibika, na njia zao ni za uovu kabisa, hakuna hata mmoja atendaye mema.

To him that excelleth on Mahalath. A Psalme of David to give instruction. The foole hath saide in his heart, There is no God. they haue corrupted and done abominable wickednes: there is none that doeth good.

2 Mungu anawachungulia wanadamu chini kutoka mbinguni aone kama wako wenye akili, wowote wanaomtafuta Mungu.

God looked downe from heauen vpon the children of men, to see if there were any that would vnderstand, and seeke God.

3 Kila mmoja amegeukia mbali, wameharibika wote pamoja, hakuna atendaye mema. Naam, hakuna hata mmoja!

Euery one is gone backe: they are altogether corrupt: there is none that doth good, no not one.

4 Je, watendao mabaya kamwe hawatajifunza: wale ambao huwala watu wangu kama watu walavyo mkate, hao ambao hawamwiti Mungu?

Doe not the workers of iniquitie knowe that they eate vp my people as they eate bread? they call not vpon God.

5 Hapo waliingiwa na hofu kuu, ambapo hapakuwa cha kutetemesha. Mungu alitawanya mifupa ya wale waliokushambulia; uliwaaibisha, kwa sababu Mungu aliwadharau.

There they were afraide for feare, where no feare was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that besieged thee: thou hast put them to confusion, because God hath cast them off.

6 Laiti wokovu wa Israeli ungalikuja kutoka Sayuni! Wakati Mungu arejeshapo wafungwa wa watu wake, Yakobo na ashangilie, Israeli na afurahi!

Oh giue saluation vnto Israel out of Zion: when God turneth the captiuitie of his people, then Iaakob shall reioyce, and Israel shalbe glad.
