1 Wimbo. Zaburi ya wana wa Kora. Bwana ni mkuu, anayestahili kusifiwa sana, katika mji wa Mungu wetu, mlima wake mtakatifu.
A song or Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praysed, in the Citie of our God, euen vpon his holy Mountaine.
2 Ni mzuri katika kuinuka kwake juu sana, furaha ya dunia yote. Kama vilele vya juu sana vya Safoni ni Mlima Sayuni, mji wa Mfalme Mkuu.
Mount Zion, lying Northwarde, is faire in situation: it is the ioy of the whole earth, and the Citie of the great King.
3 Mungu yuko katika ngome zake; amejionyesha mwenyewe kuwa ngome yake.
In the palaces thereof God is knowen for a refuge.
4 Wakati wafalme walipounganisha nguvu, waliposonga mbele pamoja,
For lo, the Kings were gathered, and went together.
5 walimwona nao wakashangaa, wakakimbia kwa hofu.
When they sawe it, they marueiled: they were astonied, and suddenly driuen backe.
6 Kutetemeka kuliwashika huko, maumivu kama ya mwanamke mwenye utungu wa kuzaa.
Feare came there vpon them, and sorowe, as vpon a woman in trauaile.
7 Uliwaangamiza kama meli za Tarshishi zilizovunjwa na upepo wa mashariki.
As with an East winde thou breakest the shippes of Tarshish, so were they destroyed.
8 Kama tulivyokuwa tumesikia, ndivyo tulivyoona katika mji wa Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, katika mji wa Mungu wetu: Mungu ataufanya uwe salama milele.
As we haue heard, so haue we seene in the citie of the Lord of hostes, in the Citie of our God: God will stablish it for euer. (Selah)
9 Ee Mungu, hekaluni mwako tunatafakari upendo wako usiokoma.
We waite for thy louing kindnes, O God, in the middes of thy Temple.
10 Ee Mungu, kama jina lako lilivyo, sifa zako zinafika hadi miisho ya dunia, mkono wako wa kuume umejazwa na haki.
O God, according vnto thy Name, so is thy prayse vnto the worlds end: thy right hand is full of righteousnes.
11 Mlima Sayuni unashangilia, vijiji vya Yuda vinafurahi kwa sababu ya hukumu zako.
Let mount Zion reioyce, and the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.
12 Tembeeni katika Sayuni, uzungukeni mji, hesabuni minara yake;
Compasse about Zion, and goe round about it, and tell the towres thereof.
13 yatafakarini vyema maboma yake, angalieni ngome zake, ili mpate kusimulia habari zake kwa kizazi kijacho.
Marke well the wall thereof: beholde her towres, that ye may tell your posteritie.
14 Kwa kuwa huyu Mungu ni Mungu wetu milele na milele; atakuwa kiongozi wetu hata mwisho.
For this God is our God for euer and euer: he shall be our guide vnto the death.
