< Zaburi 34 >

1 Zaburi ya Daudi, alipojifanya mwendawazimu mbele ya Abimeleki, ambaye alimfukuza, naye akaondoka. Nitamtukuza Bwana nyakati zote, sifa zake zitakuwa midomoni mwangu siku zote.
[A Psalm] of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [of it] and be glad.
3 Mtukuzeni Bwana pamoja nami, naam, na tulitukuze jina lake pamoja.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 Nilimtafuta Bwana naye akanijibu, akaniokoa kwenye hofu zangu zote.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Wale wamtazamao hutiwa nuru, nyuso zao hazifunikwi na aibu kamwe.
They looked to him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6 Maskini huyu alimwita Bwana, naye akamsikia, akamwokoa katika taabu zake zote.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard [him], and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 Malaika wa Bwana hufanya kituo akiwazunguka wale wamchao, naye huwaokoa.
The angel of the LORD encampeth around them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for [there is] no want to them that fear him.
10 Wana simba wenye nguvu hutindikiwa na kuona njaa, bali wale wamtafutao Bwana hawatakosa kitu chochote kilicho chema.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good [thing].
11 Njooni, watoto wangu, mnisikilize, nitawafundisha kumcha Bwana.
Come, ye children, hearken to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Yeyote kati yenu anayependa uzima na kutamani kuziona siku nyingi njema,
What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Aache uovu, atende mema, aitafute amani na kuifuatilia.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] to their cry.
The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 Wenye haki hulia, naye Bwana huwasikia, huwaokoa katika taabu zao zote.
[The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 Bwana yu karibu na waliovunjika moyo, na huwaokoa waliopondeka roho.
The LORD [is] nigh to them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
19 Mwenye haki ana mateso mengi, lakini Bwana humwokoa nayo yote,
Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20 huhifadhi mifupa yake yote, hata mmoja hautavunjika.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 Ubaya utamuua mtu mwovu, nao adui za mwenye haki watahukumiwa.
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
22 Bwana huwakomboa watumishi wake, yeyote anayemkimbilia yeye hatahukumiwa kamwe.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
