Zaburi 27
1 Zaburi ya Daudi. Bwana ni nuru yangu na wokovu wangu, nimwogope nani? Bwana ni ngome ya uzima wangu, nimhofu nani?
YHWH is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? YHWH is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 Waovu watakaposogea dhidi yangu ili wanile nyama yangu, adui zangu na watesi wangu watakaponishambulia, watajikwaa na kuanguka.
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Hata jeshi linizunguke pande zote, moyo wangu hautaogopa; hata vita vitokee dhidi yangu, hata hapo nitakuwa na ujasiri.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 Jambo moja ninamwomba Bwana, hili ndilo ninalolitafuta: niweze kukaa nyumbani mwa Bwana siku zote za maisha yangu, niutazame uzuri wa Bwana na kumtafuta hekaluni mwake.
One thing have I desired of YHWH, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of YHWH all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of YHWH, and to inquire in his temple.
5 Kwa kuwa siku ya shida, atanihifadhi salama katika maskani yake, atanificha uvulini mwa hema yake na kuniweka juu kwenye mwamba.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 Kisha kichwa changu kitainuliwa juu ya adui zangu wanaonizunguka. Katika maskani yake nitatoa dhabihu kwa kelele za shangwe; nitamwimbia Bwana na kumsifu.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto YHWH.
7 Isikie sauti yangu nikuitapo, Ee Bwana, unihurumie na unijibu.
Hear, O YHWH, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 Moyo wangu unasema kuhusu wewe, “Utafute uso wake!” Uso wako, Bwana “Nitautafuta.”
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, YHWH, will I seek.
9 Usinifiche uso wako, usimkatae mtumishi wako kwa hasira; wewe umekuwa msaada wangu. Usinikatae wala usiniache, Ee Mungu Mwokozi wangu.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O Elohim of my salvation.
10 Hata kama baba yangu na mama wakiniacha, Bwana atanipokea.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then YHWH will take me up.
11 Nifundishe njia yako, Ee Bwana, niongoze katika njia iliyonyooka kwa sababu ya watesi wangu.
Teach me thy way, O YHWH, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Usiniachilie kwa nia za adui zangu, kwa maana mashahidi wa uongo wameinuka dhidi yangu, wakipumua ujeuri.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 Nami bado nina tumaini hili: nitauona wema wa Bwana katika nchi ya walio hai.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of YHWH in the land of the living.
14 Mngojee Bwana, uwe hodari na mwenye moyo mkuu, nawe, umngojee Bwana.
Wait on YHWH: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on YHWH.
