1 Msifuni Bwana! Ee nafsi yangu, umsifu Bwana,

Praise ye the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

2 Nitamsifu Bwana maisha yangu yote; nitamwimbia Mungu wangu sifa wakati wote niishipo.

I will praise the LORD, as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God, while I have my being.

3 Usiweke tumaini lako kwa wakuu, kwa wanadamu ambao hufa, ambao hawawezi kuokoa.

Put not your trust in princes, In the son of man, in whom is no help!

4 Roho yao itokapo hurudi mavumbini, siku hiyo hiyo mipango yao yote hukoma.

His breath goeth forth; he returneth to the dust; In that very day his plans perish.

5 Heri yeye ambaye Mungu wa Yakobo ni msaada wake, ambaye tumaini lake ni katika Bwana, Mungu wake,

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help; Whose hope is in the LORD, his God;

6 Muumba wa mbingu na nchi, na bahari na vyote vilivyomo ndani yake: Bwana anayedumu kuwa mwaminifu milele na milele.

Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is therein; Who keepeth truth for ever;

7 Naye huwapatia haki walioonewa na kuwapa wenye njaa chakula. Bwana huwaweka wafungwa huru,

Who executeth judgment for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. The LORD setteth free the prisoners;

8 Bwana huwafumbua vipofu macho, Bwana huwainua waliolemewa na mizigo yao, Bwana huwapenda wenye haki.

The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind; The LORD raiseth up them that are bowed down; The LORD loveth the righteous.

9 Bwana huwalinda wageni na kuwategemeza yatima na wajane, lakini hupinga njia za waovu.

The LORD preserveth the strangers; He relieveth the fatherless and the widow; But the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.

10 Bwana atamiliki milele, Mungu wako, ee Sayuni, kwa vizazi vyote. Msifuni Bwana.

The LORD shall reign for ever; Thy God, O Zion! to all generations! Praise ye the LORD!
