< Zaburi 141 >
1 Zaburi ya Daudi. Ee Bwana, ninakuita wewe, uje kwangu hima. Sikia sauti yangu ninapokuita.
A Psalm by David. LORD, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.
2 Maombi yangu na yafike mbele zako kama uvumba; kuinua mikono yangu juu na kuwe kama dhabihu ya jioni.
Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.
3 Ee Bwana, weka mlinzi kinywani mwangu, weka ulinzi mlangoni mwa midomo yangu.
Set a watch, LORD, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips.
4 Usiuache moyo wangu uvutwe katika jambo baya, nisije nikashiriki katika matendo maovu pamoja na watu watendao mabaya, wala nisije nikala vyakula vyao vya anasa.
Don’t incline my heart to any evil thing, to practise deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity. Don’t let me eat of their delicacies.
5 Mtu mwenye haki na anipige: ni jambo la huruma; na anikemee: ni mafuta kichwani mwangu. Kichwa changu hakitalikataa. Hata hivyo, maombi yangu daima ni kinyume cha watenda mabaya,
Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; don’t let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.
6 watawala wao watatupwa chini kutoka kwenye majabali, waovu watajifunza kwamba maneno yangu yalikuwa kweli.
Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will hear my words, for they are well spoken.
7 Watasema, “Kama mtu anavyolima na kuvunja ardhi, ndivyo mifupa yetu imetawanywa kwenye mlango wa kaburi.” (Sheol )
“As when one ploughs and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.” (Sheol )
8 Lakini nimekaza macho yangu kwako, Ee Bwana Mwenyezi, ndani yako nimekimbilia, usiniache nife.
For my eyes are on you, LORD, the Lord. I take refuge in you. Don’t leave my soul destitute.
9 Niepushe na mitego waliyonitegea, kutokana na mitego iliyotegwa na watenda mabaya.
Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of the workers of iniquity.
10 Waovu na waanguke kwenye nyavu zao wenyewe, wakati mimi ninapita salama.
Let the wicked fall together into their own nets while I pass by.
