1 Wimbo wa kwenda juu. Kutoka vilindini ninakulilia, Ee Bwana.

A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried to thee, O LORD.

2 Ee Bwana, sikia sauti yangu. Masikio yako na yawe masikivu kwa kilio changu unihurumie.

LORD, hear my voice: let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3 Kama wewe, Ee Bwana, ungeweka kumbukumbu ya dhambi, Ee Bwana, ni nani angeliweza kusimama?

If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand?

4 Lakini kwako kuna msamaha, kwa hiyo wewe unaogopwa.

But [there is] forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

5 Namngojea Bwana, nafsi yangu inangojea, katika neno lake naweka tumaini langu.

I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

6 Nafsi yangu inamngojea Bwana kuliko walinzi waingojeavyo asubuhi, naam, kuliko walinzi waingojeavyo asubuhi.

My soul [waiteth] for the LORD more than they that watch for the morning: [I say], [more than] they that watch for the morning.

7 Ee Israeli, mtumaini Bwana, maana kwa Bwana kuna upendo usiokoma, na kwake kuna ukombozi kamili.

Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD [there is] mercy, and with him [is] plenteous redemption.

8 Yeye mwenyewe ataikomboa Israeli kutoka dhambi zao zote.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
