1 Msifuni Bwana. Enyi watumishi wa Bwana msifuni, lisifuni jina la Bwana.

Praise Yahweh! You people who serve Yahweh, praise him! Praise (him/his name)!

2 Jina la Bwana na lisifiwe, sasa na hata milele.

Yahweh should be praised now and forever!

3 Kuanzia mawio ya jua hadi machweo yake, jina la Bwana linapaswa kusifiwa.

People who live in the east and people who live in the west, everyone, should praise Yahweh [MTY]!

4 Bwana ametukuka juu ya mataifa yote, utukufu wake juu ya mbingu.

Yahweh rules [MTY] over all the nations, and high in the heavens he shows that his glory is very great.

5 Ni nani aliye kama Bwana Mungu wetu, Yeye ambaye ameketi juu kwenye kiti cha enzi,

There is no one [RHQ] who is like Yahweh, our God, who lives/sits/rules in the highest heaven,

6 ambaye huinama atazame chini aone mbingu na nchi?

and looks far down through the heavens and sees the [people on] the earth.

7 Huwainua maskini kutoka mavumbini, na kuwanyanyua wahitaji kutoka kwenye jalala,

[Sometimes] he lifts poor people up [so that they no longer sit in] the dirt; he helps needy [people so that they no longer sit on] heaps of ashes

8 huwaketisha pamoja na wakuu, pamoja na wakuu wa watu wake.

and causes them to [be honored] by sitting next to princes, the sons of the kings [who rule] their people.

9 Humjalia mwanamke tasa kutulia nyumbani mwake, akiwa mama watoto mwenye furaha. Msifuni Bwana.
