1 Msifuni Bwana. Heri mtu yule amchaye Bwana, mtu yule apendezwaye sana na amri zake.
Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.
2 Watoto wake watakuwa wenye uwezo katika nchi, kizazi cha watu waadilifu kitabarikiwa.
Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].
3 Nyumbani mwake kuna mali na utajiri, haki yake hudumu milele.
Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.
4 Hata gizani nuru humzukia mtu mwadilifu, yule mwenye rehema, huruma na haki.
Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.
5 Mema yatamjia mtu yule aliye mkarimu na mwenye kukopesha bila riba, anayefanya mambo yake kwa haki.
Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.
6 Hakika hatatikisika kamwe, mtu mwenye haki atakumbukwa milele.
Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].
7 Hataogopa habari mbaya, moyo wake ni thabiti, ukimtegemea Bwana.
They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.
8 Moyo wake ni salama, hatakuwa na hofu, mwishoni ataona ushindi dhidi ya adui zake.
They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.
9 Ametawanya vipawa vyake kwa ukarimu akawapa maskini; haki yake hudumu milele; pembe yake itatukuzwa kwa heshima.
They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.
10 Mtu mwovu ataona na kuchukizwa, atasaga meno yake na kutoweka, kutamani kwa mtu mwovu kutaishia patupu.
Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
