1 Heri mtu yule ambaye haendi katika shauri la watu waovu, wala hasimami katika njia ya wenye dhambi, au kuketi katika baraza la wenye mizaha.

How blessed! [is] the person who - not he walks in [the] counsel of wicked [people] and in [the] way of sinners not he stands and in [the] seat of mockers not he sits.

2 Bali huifurahia sheria ya Bwana, naye huitafakari hiyo sheria usiku na mchana.

That except [is] in [the] law of Yahweh delight his and in law his he meditates by day and night.

3 Mtu huyo ni kama mti uliopandwa kando ya vijito vya maji, ambao huzaa matunda kwa majira yake na majani yake hayanyauki. Lolote afanyalo hufanikiwa.

And he is like a tree planted at streams of water which fruit its - it gives at appropriate time its and leafage its not it withers and all that he does it succeeds.

4 Sivyo walivyo waovu! Wao ni kama makapi yapeperushwayo na upepo.

Not [are] so the wicked [people] that except [they are] like the chaff which it drives about it wind.

5 Kwa hiyo waovu hawatastahimili hukumu, wala wenye dhambi katika kusanyiko la wenye haki.

There-fore - not they will stand wicked [people] in the judgment and sinners in [the] congregation of righteous [people].

6 Kwa maana Bwana huziangalia njia za mwenye haki, bali njia ya waovu itaangamia.

For [is] knowing Yahweh [the] way of righteous [people] and [the] way of wicked [people] it will perish.
