1 Bwana akamwambia Mose,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
2 “Sema na Aroni umwambie, ‘Wakati utakapoziweka zile taa saba, zinatakiwa kuangaza eneo lililo mbele ya kinara cha taa.’”
“Speak to Aaron, and you have said to him: In your causing the lights to go up, the seven lights give light toward the front of the face of the lampstand.”
3 Aroni akafanya hivyo; akaziweka zile taa ili zielekee mbele kwenye kinara cha taa, kama vile Bwana alivyomwamuru Mose.
And Aaron does so; he has caused its lights to go up toward the front of the face of the lampstand, as YHWH has commanded Moses.
4 Hivi ndivyo kinara cha taa kilivyotengenezwa: Kilitengenezwa kwa dhahabu iliyofuliwa, kuanzia kwenye kitako chake hadi kwenye maua yake. Kinara cha taa kilitengenezwa sawasawa kabisa na kielelezo ambacho Bwana alikuwa amemwonyesha Mose.
And this [is] the work of the lampstand: beaten work of gold; from its thigh to its flower it [is] beaten work; as the appearance which YHWH showed Moses, so he has made the lampstand.
5 Bwana akamwambia Mose:
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
6 “Watwae Walawi kutoka miongoni mwa Waisraeli wengine na uwatakase kwa kawaida ya ibada.
“Take the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and you have cleansed them.
7 Ili kuwatakasa fanya hivi: Nyunyizia maji ya utakaso juu yao; kisha uwaambie wanyoe nywele kwenye mwili mzima, wafue nguo zao na hivyo wajitakase wenyewe.
And thus you do to them to cleanse them: sprinkle waters of atonement on them, and they have caused a razor to pass over all their flesh, and have washed their garments, and cleansed themselves,
8 Waambie wamchukue fahali mchanga pamoja na sadaka yake ya nafaka ya unga laini uliochanganywa na mafuta; kisha utamchukua fahali mchanga wa pili kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi.
and have taken a bullock, a son of the herd, and its present, flour mixed with oil, and you take a second bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering;
9 Walete Walawi mbele ya Hema la Kukutania na ukusanye jumuiya yote ya Waisraeli.
and you have brought the Levites near before the Tent of Meeting, and you have assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel,
10 Utawaleta Walawi mbele za Bwana, na Waisraeli wataweka mikono yao juu ya Walawi.
and you have brought the Levites near before YHWH, and the sons of Israel have laid their hands on the Levites,
11 Aroni atawaweka Walawi mbele za Bwana kama sadaka ya kuinua kutoka kwa Waisraeli, ili kwamba wawe tayari kuifanya kazi ya Bwana.
and Aaron has waved the Levites [as] a wave-offering before YHWH, from the sons of Israel, and they have been [consecrated] for doing the service of YHWH.
12 “Baada ya Walawi kuweka mikono yao juu ya vichwa vya hao mafahali wawili, tumia mmoja kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi kwa Bwana, na mwingine kuwa sadaka ya kuteketezwa, ili kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya Walawi.
And the Levites lay their hands on the head of the bullocks, and make one a sin-offering and one a burnt-offering to YHWH, to atone for the Levites.
13 Waambie hao Walawi wasimame mbele ya Aroni na wanawe, kisha wawatoe kama sadaka ya kuinuliwa kwa Bwana.
And you have caused the Levites to stand before Aaron, and before his sons, and have waved them [as] a wave-offering to YHWH;
14 Kwa njia hii utakuwa umewatenga Walawi kutoka kwa Waisraeli wengine, nao Walawi watakuwa wangu.
and you have separated the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have become Mine;
15 “Utakapokuwa umekwisha kuwatakasa Walawi na kuwatoa kama sadaka ya kuinuliwa, watakuja kufanya kazi yao katika Hema la Kukutania.
and afterward the Levites come in to serve the Tent of Meeting, and you have cleansed them, and have waved them [as] a wave-offering.
16 Wao ndio Waisraeli ambao watatolewa kabisa kwangu. Nimewatwaa kama mali yangu mwenyewe badala ya mzaliwa wa kwanza, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa kiume kutoka kwa kila mwanamke wa Kiisraeli.
For they are certainly given to Me out of the midst of the sons of Israel, instead of him who opens any womb—the firstborn of all; I have taken them for Myself from the sons of Israel;
17 Kila mzaliwa wa kwanza wa kiume katika Israeli, awe wa mwanadamu au mnyama, ni wangu. Wakati nilipowaua wazaliwa wote wa kwanza huko Misri, niliwatenga kwa ajili yangu mwenyewe.
for every firstborn among the sons of Israel [is] Mine, among man and among beast; in the day of My striking every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself;
18 Nami nimewatwaa Walawi badala ya wazaliwa wote wa kwanza wa kiume katika Israeli.
and I take the Levites instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel.
19 Kati ya Waisraeli wote, nimempa Aroni na wanawe Walawi kama zawadi ili wafanye kazi katika Hema la Kukutania kwa niaba ya Waisraeli, na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yao ili pasiwepo na pigo lolote litakalowapata Waisraeli wakati watakapokaribia mahali patakatifu.”
And I give the Levites [as] gifts to Aaron and to his sons, from the midst of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the sons of Israel in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the sons of Israel, and there is no plague among the sons of Israel in the sons of Israel drawing near to the holy place.”
20 Mose, Aroni na jumuiya yote ya Waisraeli wakawafanyia Walawi kama Bwana alivyomwamuru Mose.
And Moses does—Aaron also, and all the congregation of the sons of Israel—to the Levites according to all that YHWH has commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so the sons of Israel have done to them.
21 Walawi wakajitakasa wenyewe na wakafua nguo zao. Kisha Aroni akawasogeza mbele za Bwana kuwa sadaka ya kuinuliwa, na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yao ili kuwatakasa.
And the Levites cleanse themselves, and wash their garments, and Aaron waves them [as] a wave-offering before YHWH, and Aaron makes atonement for them to cleanse them,
22 Baada ya hayo, Walawi walikuja kufanya kazi yao katika Hema la Kukutania chini ya usimamizi wa Aroni na wanawe. Waliwafanyia Walawi kama vile Bwana alivyomwamuru Mose.
and afterward the Levites have gone in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting, before Aaron and before his sons; as YHWH has commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they have done to them.
23 Bwana akamwambia Mose,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
24 “Hili linawahusu Walawi: Wanaume wenye umri wa miaka ishirini na mitano au zaidi watakuja kushiriki katika kazi kwenye Hema la Kukutania,
“This [is] who [is] for the Levites: from a son of twenty-five years and upward he goes in to serve the host in the service of the Tent of Meeting,
25 lakini watakapofika umri wa miaka hamsini, ni lazima waache kazi zao za kawaida wala wasiendelee.
and from a son of fifty years he returns from the host of the service, and does not serve anymore,
26 Wanaweza kuwasaidia ndugu zao kufanya wajibu wao katika Hema la Kukutania, lakini wao wenyewe kamwe hawatafanya hiyo kazi. Basi, hivi ndivyo utakavyogawa wajibu kwa Walawi.”
and he has ministered with his brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to keep the charge, and does not do service; thus you do to the Levites concerning their charge.”
