< Marko 5 >
And they came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 Yesu alipotoka kwenye mashua, mara mtu mmoja mwenye pepo mchafu akatoka makaburini akakutana naye.
And when He was come out of the ship, immediately there met Him from the tombs,
3 Mtu huyu aliishi makaburini, wala hakuna aliyeweza kumzuia hata kwa kumfunga minyororo.
a man with an impure spirit, who kept among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains:
4 Kwa kuwa mara kwa mara alikuwa amefungwa minyororo mikononi na miguuni, lakini akaikata hiyo minyororo na kuzivunja zile pingu miguuni mwake. Hapakuwa na mtu yeyote aliyekuwa na nguvu za kumzuia.
for he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been pulled asunder by him, and the fetters broken; and no man could tame him:
5 Usiku na mchana alikuwa makaburini na milimani, akipiga kelele na kujikatakata kwa mawe.
and he was always night and day upon the hills and among the sepulchres bawling, and gashing himself with stones.
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him,
7 Akapiga kelele kwa nguvu akisema, “Una nini nami, Yesu, Mwana wa Mungu Aliye Juu Sana? Ninakusihi kwa jina la Mungu, usinitese!”
and crying out with a loud voice said, Jesus thou Son of the most high God, what have I to do with thee? I adjure thee by God, that thou wouldst not torment me:
8 Kwa kuwa Yesu alikuwa amemwambia, “Mtoke mtu huyu, wewe pepo mchafu!”
(for He said to him, Thou impure spirit, come out of the man.)
And He asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
And he earnestly intreated Him, that He would not send them out of that country.
Now there was a great herd of swine feeding upon the mountains:
12 Wale pepo wachafu wakamsihi Yesu wakisema, “Tuamuru twende kwenye wale nguruwe. Turuhusu tuwaingie.”
and all the demons intreated Him, saying, Send us to the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 Basi Yesu akawaruhusu, nao wale pepo wachafu wakatoka, wakawaingia hao nguruwe.
And immediately Jesus permitted them: and the impure spirits went out of the man, and entered into the swine; and the herd (which were about two thousand, ) ran violently down a precipice into the sea, and were suffocated.
14 Wale watu waliokuwa wakichunga hao nguruwe wakakimbilia mjini na vijijini kueleza yaliyotukia. Watu wakatoka kwenda kuona hayo yaliyokuwa yametukia.
And they that were feeding the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what was done:
15 Walipofika kwa Yesu, wakamwona yule mtu aliyekuwa amepagawa na pepo wachafu legioni akiwa ameketi hapo, amevaa nguo na mwenye akili timamu. Wakaogopa.
and they come to Jesus, and see the demoniac, who had been possessed by the legion, sitting and clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
And when those that saw it told them what had happened to the demoniac,
17 Basi watu wakaanza kumwomba Yesu aondoke katika nchi yao.
and concerning the swine, they intreated Him to depart from their borders.
18 Yesu alipokuwa anaingia kwenye mashua, yule mtu aliyekuwa amepagawa na pepo wachafu akamsihi Yesu waende pamoja.
And as He went into the ship, the demoniac intreated Him that he might be with Him:
19 Yesu hakumruhusu, bali alimwambia, “Nenda nyumbani kwa jamaa yako ukawaeleze mambo makuu aliyokutendea Bwana, na jinsi alivyokuhurumia.”
but Jesus did not permit him; but saith to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee:
20 Yule mtu akaenda zake, akaanza kutangaza katika Dekapoli mambo makuu Yesu aliyomtendea. Nao watu wote wakastaajabu.
and he departed, and published in Decapolis, how great things Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.
And when Jesus passed over again in the ship to the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto Him, nigh unto the sea.
22 Kisha mmoja wa viongozi wa sinagogi aliyeitwa Yairo akafika pale. Naye alipomwona Yesu, akapiga magoti miguuni pake,
And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, named Jairus; and as soon as he saw Him, he fell at his feet,
23 akamsihi akisema, “Binti yangu mdogo ni mgonjwa mahututi. Tafadhali nakusihi, njoo uweke mikono yako juu yake ili apate kupona, naye atakuwa hai.”
and earnestly intreated Him, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death, I beseech thee that thou wouldst come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.
24 Hivyo Yesu akaenda pamoja naye. Umati mkubwa wa watu ukamfuata, nao watu wakawa wanamsonga.
So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him, and pressed about Him.
And a woman who had been in a flux twelve years,
and had suffered a great deal from many physicians, and spent all that she had, and received no benefit, but rather grew worse,
when she heard of Jesus, came behind Him in the croud, and touched his garment; for she said,
28 kwa maana alisema moyoni mwake, “Kama nikiweza kuligusa vazi lake tu, nitaponywa.”
If I can but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.
29 Mara kutoka damu kwake kukakoma, naye akajisikia mwilini mwake amepona kabisa.
And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt within herself that she was healed of the disorder.
And immediately Jesus, knowing in Himself that power was gone out of Him, turned about in the croud and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 Wanafunzi wake wakamjibu, “Unaona jinsi umati wa watu unavyokusonga. Wawezaje kuuliza, ‘Ni nani aliyenigusa?’”
And his disciples said unto Him, Thou seest the multitude crouding about thee, and dost thou ask, Who touched me?
and He looked round about to see who had done it.
33 Yule mwanamke, akijua kilichomtokea, akaja, akaanguka miguuni pake akitetemeka kwa hofu, akamweleza ukweli wote.
But the woman being afraid and trembling, as knowing what had been done in her, came and prostrated herself to Him, and told Him all the truth:
34 Yesu akamwambia, “Binti, imani yako imekuponya. Nenda kwa amani, upone kabisa ugonjwa wako.”
and He said to her, Daughter, thy faith has saved thee; go in peace, and be healed of thy disorder.
35 Alipokuwa bado anaongea, watu wakafika kutoka nyumbani kwa Yairo. Wakamwambia, “Binti yako amekufa. Kwa nini kuendelea kumsumbua Mwalimu?”
While He was yet speaking, there came some from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying, Thy daughter is dead, why dost thou trouble the Master any more?
36 Aliposikia hayo waliyosema, Yesu akamwambia huyo kiongozi wa sinagogi, “Usiogope. Amini tu.”
But Jesus hearing the word that was spoken, immediately saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe:
37 Hakumruhusu mtu mwingine yeyote amfuate isipokuwa Petro, Yakobo na Yohana, nduguye Yakobo.
and He suffered none to go along with Him, but Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
And He cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth a tumult, people weeping and lamenting greatly:
39 Alipokwisha kuingia ndani, akawaambia, “Kwa nini mnafanya ghasia na kulia? Mtoto hajafa, bali amelala tu.”
and when He was come in, He saith unto them, Why do ye take on thus and weep? the child is not dead, but asleep.
Wakaingia ndani mpaka pale alipokuwa yule mtoto.
And they laughed at Him: but when He had turned them all out, He taketh the father, and the mother of the child, and those three that were with Him, and goes in where the child was laid:
41 Akamshika mtoto mkono, akamwambia, “Talitha koum!” (maana yake ni, “Msichana, nakuambia: amka!”)
and taking hold of her hand, He saith unto her, Talitha, cumi, which is, being interpreted, Damsel, (I say unto thee) arise:
42 Mara yule msichana akasimama, akaanza kutembea (alikuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na miwili). Walipoona haya, wakastaajabu sana.
and immediately the damsel rose up and walked; for she was twelve years old; and they were struck with great astonishment.
43 Yesu akawaagiza kwa ukali wasimweleze mtu yeyote jambo hilo, naye akawaambia wampe yule msichana chakula.
And He strictly charged them, that no one should know it: and bid them give her something to eat.
