Luka 17
1 Yesu akawaambia wanafunzi wake, “Mambo yanayosababisha watu watende dhambi hayana budi kutukia. Lakini ole wake mtu yule anayeyasababisha.
Then he said to his disciples: It is impossible that causes of offense should not come; but alas for him by whom they come!
2 Ingekuwa heri kama mtu huyo angefungiwa jiwe la kusagia shingoni na kutoswa baharini, kuliko kumsababisha mmojawapo wa hawa wadogo kutenda dhambi.
It would be better for him that a millstone were hung about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
3 Kwa hiyo, jilindeni. “Kama ndugu yako akikukosea mwonye, naye akitubu, msamehe.
Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sin against you, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 Kama akikukosea mara saba kwa siku moja na mara saba kwa siku moja akaja kwako akisema, ‘Ninatubu,’ msamehe.”
And if he sin against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to you and say, I repent, you shall forgive him.
5 Mitume wake wakamwambia Bwana, “Tuongezee imani.”
And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.
6 Bwana akawajibu, “Kama mkiwa na imani ndogo kama punje ya haradali, mngeweza kuuambia mti huu wa mkuyu, ‘Ngʼoka ukaote baharini,’ nao ungewatii.
And the Lord said: If you had faith like a grain of mustard, you might say to this sycamine-tree, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it should obey you.
7 “Ikiwa mmoja wenu ana mtumishi anayelima shambani au anayechunga kondoo, je, mtumishi huyo arudipo atamwambia, ‘Karibu hapa keti ule chakula?’
Which of you that has a servant plowing, or feeding a flock, will say to him immediately, when he comes in from the field, Go and recline at table?
8 Je, badala yake, hatamwambia, ‘Niandalie chakula, nile, jifunge unitumikie ninapokula na kunywa; baadaye waweza kula na kunywa?’
But will he not say to him, Make ready my supper, and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunk; and afterward, you shall eat and drink?
9 Je, huyo mtu atamshukuru mtumishi huyo kwa kutimiza yale aliyoamriwa?
Does he thank that servant, because he did what was commanded? I think not.
10 Vivyo hivyo nanyi mkiisha kufanya mliyoagizwa, semeni, ‘Sisi tu watumishi tusiostahili; tumefanya tu yale tuliyopaswa kufanya.’”
So also you, when you shall have done all things that you arc commanded to do, say, We are unprofitable servants; for we have done what was our duty to do.
11 Yesu alipokuwa njiani akienda Yerusalemu, alipitia mpakani mwa Samaria na Galilaya.
And it came to pass, as he was journeying to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Alipokuwa akiingia kwenye kijiji kimoja, watu kumi waliokuwa na ukoma wakakutana naye. Wakasimama mbali,
And as he entered a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood at a distance.
13 wakapaza sauti, wakasema, “Yesu, Bwana, tuhurumie!”
And they lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 Alipowaona akawaambia, “Nendeni mkajionyeshe kwa makuhani.” Nao walipokuwa njiani wakienda, wakatakasika.
And when he saw them, he said to them: Go, show yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were made clean.
15 Mmoja wao alipoona kwamba amepona, akarudi kwa Yesu, akimsifu Mungu kwa sauti kuu.
But, one of them, seeing that he was restored to health, turned back, and, with a loud voice, glorified God.
16 Akajitupa miguuni mwa Yesu akamshukuru. Yeye alikuwa Msamaria.
And he fell on his face at his feet, and gave him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.
17 Yesu akauliza, “Je, hawakutakaswa wote kumi? Wako wapi wale wengine tisa?
And Jesus answered and said: Were not the ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 Hakuna hata mmoja aliyeonekana kurudi ili kumshukuru Mungu isipokuwa huyu mgeni?”
Were there none found to return and give glory to God, but this one of another race?
19 Yesu akamwambia, “Inuka na uende zako, imani yako imekuponya.”
And he said to him: Arise, and go; your faith has saved you.
20 Yesu alipoulizwa na Mafarisayo Ufalme wa Mungu utakuja lini, yeye akawajibu, “Ufalme wa Mungu hauji kwa kuchunguza kwa bidii,
And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said: The kingdom of God comes not so as to attract attention;
21 wala watu hawatasema, ‘Huu hapa,’ au ‘Ule kule,’ kwa maana Ufalme wa Mungu umo ndani yenu.”
nor shall it be said, Lo here! or Lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is among you.
22 Kisha Yesu akawaambia wanafunzi wake, “Wakati utafika ambapo mtatamani kuiona moja ya siku ya Mwana wa Adamu, lakini hamtaiona.
And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see it.
23 Watu watawaambia, ‘Yule kule!’ Au, ‘Huyu hapa!’ Msiwakimbilie.
And they shall say to you, Lo here! or Lo there! go not after them, nor follow them.
24 Kwa maana kama vile umeme wa radi umulikavyo katika anga kuanzia mwisho mmoja hadi mwingine, ndivyo atakavyokuwa Mwana wa Adamu katika siku yake.
For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven, shines to another part under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day.
25 Lakini kwanza itampasa kuteseka katika mambo mengi na kukataliwa na kizazi hiki.
But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 “Kama ilivyokuwa siku za Noa, ndivyo itakavyokuwa katika siku za Mwana wa Adamu.
And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 Watu walikuwa wakila na kunywa, wakioa na kuolewa, mpaka siku ile Noa alipoingia katika safina. Ndipo gharika ikaja na kuwaangamiza wote.
They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, till the day in which Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “Ndivyo ilivyokuwa katika siku za Loti: Watu walikuwa wakila na kunywa, wakinunua na kuuza, wakilima na kujenga.
In like manner also, as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 Lakini siku ile Loti alipoondoka Sodoma, ikanyesha mvua ya moto na kiberiti kutoka mbinguni ukawaangamiza wote.
but in the day in which Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 “Hivyo ndivyo itakavyokuwa siku ile Mwana wa Adamu atakapofunuliwa.
Even thus shall it be in the day in which the Son of man is revealed.
31 Siku hiyo, mtu yeyote aliye juu ya dari ya nyumba yake, hata vitu vyake vikiwa ndani ya hiyo nyumba, asishuke kuvichukua. Vivyo hivyo mtu aliye shambani asirudi nyumbani kuchukua chochote.
In that day, let not him that is on the house-top, and whose goods are in the house, come down to take them away. Likewise, he that is in the field, let him not turn back.
32 Mkumbukeni mke wa Loti!
Remember Lot’s wife.
33 Mtu yeyote anayejaribu kuyaokoa maisha yake atayapoteza, na yeyote atakayeyapoteza maisha yake atayaokoa.
Whoever will seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever will lose his life, shall save it.
34 Nawaambia, usiku huo watu wawili watakuwa wamelala kitanda kimoja; naye mmoja atatwaliwa na mwingine ataachwa.
I say to you, on that night two men shall be in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
35 Wanawake wawili watakuwa wanasaga nafaka pamoja; naye mmoja atatwaliwa na mwingine ataachwa. [
Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Wanaume wawili watakuwa wanafanya kazi pamoja shambani; mmoja atachukuliwa na mwingine ataachwa.]”
Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 Kisha wakamuuliza, “Haya yatatukia wapi Bwana?” Akawaambia, “Pale ulipo mzoga, huko ndiko tai watakapokusanyika.”
And they answered and said to him. Where, Lord? And he said to them: Where the body is, there will the vultures be gathered.
