Yoshua 11
1 Ikawa Yabini mfalme wa Hazori aliposikia habari za mambo haya, akatuma ujumbe kwa Yobabu mfalme wa Madoni, na kwa mfalme wa Shimroni, na kwa mfalme wa Akishafu,
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard, that he sent unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph;
2 na pia kwa wafalme wa upande wa kaskazini wale waliokuwa milimani, katika Araba upande wa kusini mwa Kinerethi, kwenye shefela, upande wa magharibi na katika miinuko ya Nafoth-Dori upande wa magharibi;
and unto the kings who were on the north in the hill country and in the waste plain south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, —and in the heights of Dor, on the west:
3 kwa Wakanaani upande wa mashariki na magharibi; kwa Waamori, Wahiti, Waperizi na Wayebusi katika nchi ya vilima; na kwa Wahivi chini ya Hermoni katika eneo ya Mispa.
the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite and the Jebusite, in the hill country, —and the Hivite, under Hermon, in the land of Mizpah;
4 Wakaja na vikosi vyao vyote na hesabu kubwa ya farasi na magari ya kuvutwa na farasi, jeshi kubwa, kama wingi wa mchanga ulio pwani ya bahari.
and they came out—they, and all their hosts with them, much people, like the sand that is upon the seashore for multitude, —with horses and chariots very many.
5 Wafalme hawa wote wakaunganisha majeshi yao na kupiga kambi pamoja kwenye Maji ya Meromu, ili kupigana dhidi ya Israeli.
And, when all these kings were gathered together, they came in, and encamped as one man, at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Bwana akamwambia Yoshua, “Usiwaogope, kwa sababu kesho saa kama hii nitawatia wote mikononi mwa Israeli, wakiwa wameuawa. Utakata mishipa ya nyuma ya miguu ya farasi wao na kuyachoma moto magari yao ya vita.”
Then said Yahweh unto Joshua—Do not fear because of them, for, to-morrow, about this time, am I going to deliver up all of them, slain, before Israel, —their horses, shalt thou ham-string, and, their chariots, shalt thou burn up with fire.
7 Hivyo Yoshua pamoja na jeshi lake lote wakaja dhidi yao ghafula kwenye Maji ya Meromu kuwashambulia,
So Joshua, and all the army with him, came in upon them, by the waters of Merom, suddenly, and fell upon them.
8 naye Bwana akawatia mikononi mwa Israeli. Wakawashinda na kuwafukuza hadi Sidoni Kuu na kuwafikisha Misrefoth-Maimu, hadi Bonde la Mispa upande wa mashariki, hadi pakawa hakuna yeyote aliyebaki.
And Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them as far as great Zidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpeh, eastward, —yea they smote them until they left them not a survivor.
9 Yoshua akawatendea kama Bwana alivyoamuru. Akakata mishipa ya nyuma ya miguu ya farasi wao na kuchoma moto magari yao ya vita.
And Joshua did unto them, as Yahweh had said unto him, —their horses, he ham-strung, and, their chariots, burned he up with fire.
10 Wakati huo Yoshua akarudi na kuuteka mji wa Hazori na kumuua mfalme wake kwa upanga. (Hazori ulikuwa mji mkuu wa falme hizo zote.)
Then Joshua turned back, at that time, and captured Hazor, and, the king thereof, smote he with the sword, —for, Hazor, aforetime, was the head of all these kingdoms.
11 Kila aliyekuwa ndani yake wakamuua kwa upanga. Wakawaangamiza kabisa, wala hawakusaza chochote chenye pumzi na akauchoma Hazori kwenyewe kwa moto.
And they smote all the souls that were therein, with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, there was left no breathing thing, —and, Hazor, burned he up with fire.
12 Yoshua akaiteka hii miji yote ya kifalme pamoja na wafalme wake na kuwapiga kwa upanga. Akawaangamiza kabisa wote, jinsi Mose mtumishi wa Bwana alivyowaagiza.
And, all the cities of these kings, and all the kings thereof, did Joshua capture, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, —as Moses, the servant of Yahweh, commanded.
13 Lakini Israeli hawakuichoma moto hata mojawapo ya miji iliyojengwa katika vilima vyao vidogo isipokuwa mji wa Hazori ambao Yoshua aliuchoma moto.
Yet, none of the cities that were still standing upon their mound, did Israel burn, none but Hazor alone, did Joshua burn.
14 Waisraeli wakajichukulia nyara zote na mifugo yote ya miji hii, bali waliwaua watu wote kwa upanga hadi walipowaangamiza kabisa, pasipo kumbakiza yeyote mwenye pumzi.
But, all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, did the sons of Israel take as their prey, —nevertheless, all the human beings, smote they with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, they left remaining no breathing thing.
15 Kama vile Bwana alivyomwagiza Mose mtumishi wake, vivyo hivyo Mose alimwagiza Yoshua, naye Yoshua akafanya kama vivyo, hakukosa kufanya lolote katika yale yote Bwana aliyomwagiza Mose.
As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so, Moses commanded Joshua, and, so, Joshua, did, he set aside nothing of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
16 Yoshua akaiteka nchi hii yote: nchi ya vilima, Negebu yote, eneo yote ya Gosheni, shefela ya upande wa magharibi, Araba na milima ya Israeli pamoja na shefela zao,
So Joshua took all this land—the hill country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the waste plain, —and the hill country of Israel, and the lowland thereof:
17 kuanzia Mlima Halaki ambao umeinuka kuelekea Seiri hadi Baal-Gadi katika Bonde la Lebanoni chini ya Mlima Hermoni. Akawateka wafalme wake wote, akawapiga na kuwaua.
from Mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even as far as Baal-gad, in the valley of the Lebanon, under Mount Hermon, —and, all their kings, he captured, and smote them, and put them to death.
18 Yoshua akapigana vita dhidi ya wafalme hawa wote kwa muda mrefu.
Many days, did Joshua, with all these kings, make war.
19 Hakuna mji wowote katika eneo hili uliofanya mkataba wa amani na Israeli, isipokuwa hao Wahivi wa Gibeoni. Wengine wote walishindwa katika vita.
There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel, save the Hivites dwelling in Gibeon, —the whole, took they in battle.
20 Kwa maana Bwana mwenyewe ndiye aliifanya mioyo yao iwe migumu, ili kupigana vita dhidi ya Israeli ili apate kuwafutilia mbali pasipo huruma, kama Bwana alivyomwagiza Mose.
For, from Yahweh, came it to pass, that their heart was emboldened to come out to war with Israel, that he might devote them to destruction, that they might find no favour, —but that he might destroy them, —as Yahweh commanded Moses.
21 Wakati huo Yoshua akaenda kuwaangamiza Waanaki kutoka nchi ya vilima: kuanzia Hebroni, Debiri na Anabu, na kutoka nchi yote ya vilima ya Yuda na kutoka nchi yote ya vilima ya Israeli. Yoshua akawaangamiza kabisa pamoja na miji yao.
And Joshua came in, at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country—from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel, —with their cities, did Joshua devote them to destruction.
22 Hawakubaki Waanaki wowote katika nchi ya Israeli, ila tu katika nchi ya Gaza, Gathi na Ashdodi.
There was left remaining none of the Anakim, in the land of the sons of Israel, —save only, in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
23 Hivyo Yoshua akaiteka nchi hiyo yote kama vile Bwana alivyokuwa amemwagiza Mose, naye Yoshua akawapa Israeli kuwa urithi wao, kulingana na walivyogawanyika katika kabila zao. Ndipo nchi ikawa na amani bila vita.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken unto Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel, according to their portions by their tribes, —and, the land, had rest from war.
