< Yohana 2 >

Three days after, there was a marriage in Cana, of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus, also, and his disciples, were invited to the marriage.
The wine falling short, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.
4 Yesu akamwambia, “Mwanamke, nina nini nawe? Saa yangu haijawadia.”
Jesus answered, Woman, what have you to do with me? My time is not yet come.
5 Mama yake akawaambia wale watumishi, “Lolote atakalowaambia, fanyeni.”
His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he shall bid you.
Now there were six water pots of stone, containing two or three baths each, placed there for the Jewish rites of cleansing.
7 Yesu akawaambia wale watumishi, “Ijazeni hiyo mitungi maji.” Nao wakaijaza ile mitungi mpaka juu.
Jesus said to them, Fill the pots with water. And they filled them to the brim.
8 Kisha akawaambia, “Sasa choteni hayo maji kidogo, mpelekeeni mkuu wa meza.” Hivyo wakachota, wakampelekea.
Then he said, Draw, now, and carry to the director of the feast. And they did so.
Basi akamwita bwana arusi kando
When the director of the feast had tasted the wine made of water, not knowing whence it was, (but the servants who drew the water knew, )
10 akamwambia, “Watu wote hutoa kwanza divai nzuri, kisha huleta ile divai hafifu wageni wakisha kunywa vya kutosha, lakini wewe umeiweka ile nzuri kupita zote mpaka sasa.”
he said, addressing the bridegroom, Every person presents the best wine first, and worse wine afterward, when the guests have drunk largely; but you have reserved the best till now.
Hivyo Yesu alidhihirisha utukufu wake, nao wanafunzi wake wakamwamini.
This first miracle Jesus wrought in Cana of Galilee, displaying his glory: and his disciples believed on him.
Afterward, he went to Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples; but they staid not there many days.
And the Jewish passover being nigh, Jesus went to Jerusalem;
14 Huko Hekaluni aliwakuta watu wakiuza ngʼombe, kondoo na njiwa, nao wengine walikuwa wameketi mezani wakibadili fedha.
and finding changers sitting in the temple, and people who sold cattle and sheep, and doves;
he made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and cattle, scattering the coin of the changers, and oversetting their tables.
16 Akawaambia wale waliokuwa wakiuza njiwa, “Waondoeni hapa!
and he said to them, who sold doves, Take these things hence. Make not my Father's house a house of traffic.
(Then his disciples remembered these words of the scripture, "My zeal for thy house consumes me.")
18 Ndipo Wayahudi wakamuuliza, “Unaweza kutuonyesha ishara gani ili kuthibitisha mamlaka uliyo nayo ya kufanya mambo haya?”
Therefore, the Jews answered, and said to him, By what miracle do you show us your title to do these things?
19 Yesu akawajibu, “Libomoeni hili Hekalu, nami nitalijenga tena kwa siku tatu!”
Jesus answering, said to them, Destroy this temple, and I will rear it again in three days.
The Jews replied, Forty and six years was this temple in building; and you would rear it in three days?
21 Lakini yeye Hekalu alilozungumzia ni mwili wake.
(But, by the temple, he meant his body.)
When, therefore, he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they understood the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
While he was at Jerusalem, during the feast of the passover, many believed on him, when they saw the miracles which he performed.
But Jesus did not trust himself with them, because he knew them all.
He needed not to receive from others a character of any man, for he knew what was in man.
