Yohana 17
1 Baada ya Yesu kusema haya, alitazama kuelekea mbinguni akawaombea na kusema: “Baba, saa imewadia. Umtukuze Mwanao, ili Mwanao apate kukutukuza wewe.
When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, ---"Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify Thee:
2 Kwa kuwa umempa mamlaka juu ya wote wenye mwili ili awape uzima wa milele wale uliompa. (aiōnios g166)
as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
3 Nao uzima wa milele ndio huu, wakujue wewe uliye Mungu wa pekee, wa kweli na Yesu Kristo uliyemtuma. (aiōnios g166)
and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. (aiōnios g166)
4 Nimekutukuza wewe duniani kwa kuitimiza ile kazi uliyonipa niifanye.
I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do:
5 Hivyo sasa, Baba, unitukuze mbele zako kwa ule utukufu niliokuwa nao pamoja na wewe kabla ulimwengu haujakuwepo.
and now, O Father, glorify Thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was made.
6 “Nimelidhihirisha jina lako kwa wale ulionipa kutoka ulimwengu. Walikuwa wako, nawe ukanipa mimi, nao wamelitii neno lako.
I have manifested thy name to the men, whom Thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and Thou gavest them to me, and they have kept thy word.
7 Sasa wamejua ya kuwa vyote ulivyonipa vimetoka kwako,
They now know that all things whatsoever Thou hast given me, are indeed from Thee;
8 kwa kuwa maneno yale ulionipa nimewapa wao, nao wameyapokea na kujua kwamba kweli nimetoka kwako, nao wameamini kuwa wewe ulinituma.
for the instructions, which Thou gavest me, I have given to them: and they have received them, and have known of a truth that I came from Thee, and have believed that thou hast sent me.
9 Ninawaombea wao. Mimi siuombei ulimwengu, bali nawaombea wale ulionipa kwa sababu wao ni wako.
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom Thou hast given me, for they are thine.
10 Wote walio wangu ni wako na walio wako ni wangu, nami nimetukuzwa ndani yao.
And all my concerns are thine, and thine are mine: and I am therefore glorified in them.
11 Mimi sasa simo tena ulimwenguni, lakini wao bado wamo ulimwenguni, nami naja kwako. Baba Mtakatifu, uwalinde kwa uweza wa jina lako ulilonipa, ili wawe na umoja kama sisi tulivyo wamoja.
And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 Nilipokuwa pamoja nao, niliwalinda, wakawa salama kwa lile jina ulilonipa. Hakuna hata mmoja aliyepotea, isipokuwa yule aliyekusudiwa upotevu, ili Maandiko yapate kutimia.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 “Lakini sasa naja kwako, nami ninasema mambo haya wakati bado nikiwa ulimwenguni, ili wawe na furaha yangu kamili ndani yao.
But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them.
14 Nimewapa neno lako, nao ulimwengu umewachukia kwa kuwa wao si wa ulimwengu kama mimi nisivyo wa ulimwengu huu.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 Siombi kwamba uwaondoe ulimwenguni, bali uwalinde dhidi ya yule mwovu.
I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil.
16 Wao si wa ulimwengu huu, kama vile mimi nisivyo wa ulimwengu.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Uwatakase kwa ile kweli, neno lako ndilo kweli.
Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 Kama vile ulivyonituma mimi ulimwenguni, nami nawatuma vivyo hivyo.
As Thou hast sent me into the world, so have I also sent them into the world.
19 Kwa ajili yao najiweka wakfu ili wao nao wapate kutakaswa katika ile kweli.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth.
20 “Siwaombei hawa peke yao, bali nawaombea na wale wote watakaoniamini kupitia neno lao
Nor do I pray for these only, but for them also that shall believe on me through their word.
21 ili wawe na umoja kama vile wewe Baba ulivyo ndani yangu na mimi nilivyo ndani yako, wao nao wawe ndani yetu, ili ulimwengu upate kuamini ya kuwa wewe ndiye uliyenituma mimi.
That they all may be one, as Thou, O Father, art in me, and I in Thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 Utukufu ule ulionipa nimewapa wao, ili wawe na umoja kama sisi tulivyo wamoja.
And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them: that they may be one, even as we are one.
23 Mimi ndani yako na wewe ndani yangu, ili wawe wamekamilika katika umoja na ulimwengu upate kujua ya kuwa umenituma, nami nimewapenda wao kama unavyonipenda mimi.
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me.
24 “Baba, shauku yangu ni kwamba, wale ulionipa wawe pamoja nami pale nilipo, ili waweze kuuona utukufu wangu, yaani, utukufu ule ulionipa kwa kuwa ulinipenda hata kabla ya kuwekwa misingi ya ulimwengu.
Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for Thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 “Baba Mwenye Haki, ingawa ulimwengu haukujui, mimi ninakujua, nao wanajua ya kuwa umenituma.
O righteous Father, the world indeed hath not known Thee: but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent me.
26 Nimefanya jina lako lijulikane kwao nami nitaendelea kufanya lijulikane, ili kwamba upendo ule unaonipenda mimi uwe ndani yao na mimi mwenyewe nipate kuwa ndani yao.”
And I have made known to them thy name, and will farther make it known; that the love wherewith Thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I also in them.
