Yohana 13
1 Ilikuwa mara tu kabla ya Sikukuu ya Pasaka. Yesu alijua ya kuwa wakati wake wa kuondoka ulimwenguni ili kurudi kwa Baba umewadia. Alikuwa amewapenda watu wake waliokuwa ulimwenguni, naam, aliwapenda hadi kipimo cha mwisho.
Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them unto the end.
2 Wakati alipokuwa akila chakula cha jioni na wanafunzi wake, ibilisi alikuwa amekwisha kutia ndani ya moyo wa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni, wazo la kumsaliti Yesu.
And supper being served, —the Devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him, —
3 Yesu akijua ya kwamba Baba ameweka vitu vyote chini ya mamlaka yake na kwamba yeye alitoka kwa Mungu na alikuwa anarudi kwa Mungu,
he, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and was going to God,
4 hivyo aliondoka chakulani, akavua vazi lake la nje, akajifunga kitambaa kiunoni.
riseth from the supper, and layeth aside his garments, and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 Kisha akamimina maji kwenye sinia na kuanza kuwanawisha wanafunzi wake miguu na kuikausha kwa kile kitambaa alichokuwa amejifunga kiunoni.
Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Alipomfikia Simoni Petro, Petro akamwambia, “Bwana, je, wewe utaninawisha mimi miguu?”
So he cometh to Simon Peter; who saith to him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Yesu akamjibu, “Hivi sasa hutambui lile ninalofanya, lakini baadaye utaelewa.”
Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou knowest not now, but thou wilt know hereafter.
8 Petro akamwambia, “La, wewe hutaninawisha miguu kamwe.” Yesu akamjibu, “Kama nisipokunawisha, wewe huna sehemu nami.” (aiōn g165)
Peter saith to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. (aiōn g165)
9 Ndipo Simoni Petro akajibu, “Usininawishe miguu peke yake, Bwana, bali pamoja na mikono na kichwa pia!”
Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Yesu akamjibu, “Mtu aliyekwisha kuoga anahitaji kunawa miguu tu, kwani mwili wake wote ni safi. Ninyi ni safi, ingawa si kila mmoja wenu.”
Jesus saith to him, He that hath bathed needeth not to wash himself, but is wholly clean; and ye are clean, but not all.
11 Kwa kuwa yeye alijua ni nani ambaye angemsaliti, ndiyo sababu akasema si kila mmoja aliyekuwa safi.
For he knew who was about to betray him; for this reason he said, Ye are not all clean.
12 Alipomaliza kuwanawisha miguu yao, alivaa tena mavazi yake, akarudi alikokuwa ameketi, akawauliza, “Je, mmeelewa nililowafanyia?
So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and placed himself again at the table, he said to them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13 Ninyi mnaniita mimi ‘Mwalimu’ na ‘Bwana,’ hii ni sawa, maana ndivyo nilivyo.
Ye call me the Teacher, and the Lord; and ye say well; for so I am.
14 Kwa hiyo, ikiwa mimi niliye Bwana wenu na Mwalimu wenu nimewanawisha ninyi miguu, pia hamna budi kunawishana miguu ninyi kwa ninyi.
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 Mimi nimewawekea kielelezo kwamba imewapasa kutenda kama vile nilivyowatendea ninyi.
For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.
16 Amin, amin nawaambia, mtumishi si mkuu kuliko bwana wake, wala aliyetumwa si mkuu kuliko yule aliyemtuma.
Truly, truly do I say to you, A servant is not greater than his lord, nor one who is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 Sasa kwa kuwa mmejua mambo haya, heri yenu ninyi kama mkiyatenda.
If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
18 “Sisemi hivi kuhusu ninyi nyote. Ninawajua wale niliowachagua. Lakini ni ili Andiko lipate kutimia, kwamba, ‘Yeye aliyekula chakula changu, ameinua kisigino chake dhidi yangu.’
I speak not of you all; I know whom I chose; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, “He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.”
19 “Ninawaambia mambo haya kabla hayajatukia, ili yatakapotukia mpate kuamini ya kuwa Mimi ndiye.
I tell you now before it hath come to pass, that when it hath come to pass ye may believe that I am He.
20 Amin, amin nawaambia, yeyote anayempokea yule niliyemtuma anipokea mimi, naye anipokeaye mimi ampokea yeye aliyenituma mimi.”
Truly, truly do I say to you, He that receiveth whomever I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him who sent me.
21 Baada ya kusema haya, Yesu alifadhaika sana moyoni, akasema, “Amin, amin nawaambia, mmoja wenu atanisaliti.”
Having said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me.
22 Wanafunzi wake wakatazamana bila kujua kuwa alikuwa anamsema nani.
The disciples therefore looked at one another, doubting of whom he spoke.
23 Mmoja wa wanafunzi wake ambaye Yesu alimpenda sana, alikuwa ameegama kifuani mwa Yesu.
There was reclining on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
24 Simoni Petro akampungia mkono yule mwanafunzi, akamwambia, “Muulize anamaanisha nani.”
To him therefore Simon Peter maketh a sign, and saith to him, Tell who it is of whom he is speaking.
25 Yule mwanafunzi akamwegemea Yesu, akamuuliza, “Bwana, tuambie, ni nani?”
He, therefore, leaning back on the breast of Jesus, saith to him, Lord, who is it?
26 Yesu akajibu, “Ni yule nitakayempa hiki kipande cha mkate baada ya kukichovya kwenye bakuli.” Hivyo baada ya kukichovya kile kipande cha mkate, akampa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni.
Jesus answereth, It is he for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him. Having therefore dipped the morsel, he taketh and giveth it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 Mara tu baada ya kukipokea kile kipande cha mkate, Shetani akamwingia. Yesu akamwambia Yuda, “Lile unalotaka kulitenda litende haraka.”
And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus therefore saith to him, What thou doest, do quickly.
28 Hakuna hata mmoja wa wale waliokuwa wameketi naye mezani aliyeelewa kwa nini Yesu alimwambia hivyo.
Now no one at the table knew for what intent he said this to him.
29 Kwa kuwa Yuda alikuwa mtunza fedha, wengine walifikiri Yesu alikuwa amemwambia akanunue vitu vilivyohitajika kwa ajili ya Sikukuu, au kuwapa maskini chochote.
For some thought, because Judas kept the purse, that Jesus said to him, Buy what we need for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor.
30 Mara tu baada ya kupokea ule mkate, Yuda akatoka nje. Wakati huo ulikuwa ni usiku.
He then, having received the morsel, went out immediately; and it was night.
31 Baada ya Yuda kutoka nje, Yesu akasema, “Sasa Mwana wa Adamu ametukuzwa, naye Mungu ametukuzwa ndani yake.
When therefore he had gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 Ikiwa Mungu ametukuzwa ndani ya Mwana, Mungu atamtukuza Mwana ndani yake mwenyewe naye atamtukuza mara.
If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and will immediately glorify him.
33 “Watoto wangu, mimi bado niko pamoja nanyi kwa kitambo kidogo. Mtanitafuta, na kama vile nilivyowaambia Wayahudi, vivyo hivyo sasa nawaambia na ninyi. Niendako, ninyi hamwezi kuja.
My children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye will seek me; and, as I said to the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come, so now I say to you.
34 “Amri mpya nawapa: Mpendane kama mimi nilivyowapenda ninyi, vivyo hivyo nanyi mpendane.
A new commandment I give you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 Kama mkipendana ninyi kwa ninyi, kwa njia hii, watu wote watajua kuwa ninyi ni wanafunzi wangu.”
By this will all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one for another.
36 Simoni Petro akamuuliza, “Bwana, unakwenda wapi?” Yesu akamjibu, “Ninakokwenda huwezi kunifuata sasa, lakini utanifuata baadaye.”
Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, whither dost thou go? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou wilt follow me afterward.
37 Petro akamuuliza tena, “Bwana, kwa nini siwezi kukufuata sasa? Mimi niko tayari kuutoa uhai wangu kwa ajili yako.”
Peter saith to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee.
38 Yesu akamjibu, “Je, ni kweli uko tayari kuutoa uhai wako kwa ajili yangu? Amin, amin nakuambia, kabla jogoo hajawika, utanikana mara tatu.”
Jesus answereth, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Truly, truly do I say to thee, A cock will not crow, till thou hast thrice denied me.
