Ayubu 5
1 “Ita kama unataka, lakini ni nani atakayekujibu? Ni yupi kati ya hao watakatifu utakayemgeukia?
Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?
2 Kuweka uchungu moyoni humuua mpumbavu, nao wivu humchinja mjinga.
For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
3 Mimi mwenyewe nimemwona mpumbavu akistawi, lakini ghafula nyumba yake ikawa imelaaniwa.
I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 Watoto wake wako mbali na usalama, hushindwa mahakamani bila mtetezi.
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:
5 Wenye njaa huyala mavuno yake, wakiyatoa hata katikati ya miiba, nao wenye kiu huitamani sana mali yake.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.
6 Kwa maana taabu haioti kutoka kwenye udongo, wala udhia hauchipui kutoka ardhini.
For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 Lakini mwanadamu huzaliwa ili kutaabika, kwa hakika kama cheche za moto zirukavyo kuelekea juu.
For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.
8 “Lakini ingekuwa ni mimi, ningemlalamikia Mungu, ningeliweka shauri langu mbele zake.
But as for me I will seek unto God, and unto God commit my cause;
9 Yeye hutenda maajabu yasiyoweza kutambuliwa, miujiza isiyoweza kuhesabika.
Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
10 Yeye huipa nchi mvua, huyapeleka maji kunyesha mashamba.
Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;
11 Huwainua juu wanyonge, nao wale waombolezao huinuliwa wakawa salama.
Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.
12 Huipinga mipango ya wenye hila, ili mikono yao isifikie ufanisi.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.
13 Yeye huwanasa wenye hekima katika hila yao, nayo mipango ya wadanganyifu huifagilia mbali.
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:
14 Giza huwapata wakati wa mchana; wakati wa adhuhuri hupapasa kama vile usiku.
They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.
15 Humwokoa mhitaji kutokana na upanga ulioko kinywani mwao; huwaokoa kutokana na makucha ya wenye nguvu.
And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 Kwa hiyo maskini analo tarajio, nao udhalimu hufumba kinywa chake.
So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.
17 “Heri mtu yule ambaye Mungu humrudi; kwa hiyo usidharau adhabu yake Mwenyezi.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Kwa kuwa hutia jeraha, lakini pia huyafunga; huumiza, lakini mikono yake pia huponya.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 Kutoka majanga sita atakuokoa; naam, hata katika saba hakuna dhara litakalokupata wewe.
He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 Wakati wa njaa atakukomboa wewe na kifo, naye katika vita atakukomboa na pigo la upanga.
In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Utalindwa kutokana na kichapo cha ulimi, wala hutakuwa na sababu ya kuogopa maangamizi yatakapokujia.
Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 Utayacheka maangamizo na njaa, wala hutakuwa na sababu ya kuwaogopa wanyama wakali wa mwituni.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.
23 Kwa kuwa utakuwa na agano na mawe ya mashamba, nao wanyama wa mwitu watakuwa na amani nawe.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 Utajua ya kwamba hema lako li salama; utahesabu mali zako wala hutakuta chochote kilichopungua.
And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.
25 Utajua ya kuwa watoto wako watakuwa wengi, nao wazao wako wengi kama majani ya nchi.
And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.
26 Utaingia kaburini ukiwa na umri wa uzee mtimilifu, kama masuke ya ngano yakusanywapo kwa wakati wake.
Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.
27 “Tumelichunguza hili, nalo ni kweli. Hivyo lisikie na ulitendee kazi.”
Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.
